Hi all, I slogged my way into work today. Actually, the roads were fine - just wet since they had been pre-treated. Nothing like my harrowing white-knuckled ride the other night! It was also VERY quiet since I do believe we are the only place in our universe other than hospitals open today. Poor pitiful us! :-)
I hope you all have a great day today. I'll bbl.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! We are off school today and tomorrow (for Winter Break). I wonder why we didn't use these days to make up some of the snow days?? Oh well ..... The powers that be are still trying to figure out the schedule and then we'll find out.
We did our presentation from 2 til 6 yesterday then stayed afterward to talk with some of the couples and help with the clean-up. It was just starting to snow when we left the church, but we had agreed to go out to eat with two other couples. Sure enough, when we came out of the restaurant, the car was buried! Several inches of wet, icy snow had fallen very quickly and the road clearing had not yet begun. I was so glad my DH was driving, as he is much better with that weather than I am. We got home safely, but a bit later. Nonetheless, our presentation went well and the couples were very receptive and we felt good about it. I read all the way home, because I am a terrible passenger, and worse when the road conditions are bad; so that saves both of us a lot of unnecessary aggravation.
We went to Ruby Tuesday and I wasn't hungry enough for the salad bar, so ordered instead a grilled chicken and avocado sandwich and was offered an alternate side instead of french fries - so I took a small salad. DH was listening and did the same thing. We got home shortly after 9 and turned on the TV in time to watch most of the Tribute to Elvis (which we enjoyed very much!). Did anyone else watch it??
I woke early this morning as I had to shower (to remove any traces of deodorant or lotion from my skin) and then went to the hospital for my mammogram. Since we have been on the go every day since last Thursday, I am staying in today. I have sorted and piled four loads of laundry, then found one in the washer that I had forgotten to dry, so they are drying now. I am also weighing some leftover turkey tenderloin - and found 12 oz - so I separated it into one dinner for tonight and one to freeze.
I had my yogurt & berries breakfast earlier so am going to snack on a HB egg now and then some limas later and a fresh pear. That should hold me until suppertime. I have some leftover stuffing in the fridge that I may serve with the turkey.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Wow, Sue, you had quite a ride home last night. I thought of you when you said it might snow. You sound like me - I’m a nervous Nellie passenger in bad conditions, too. Smart to read a book! I’m sure my DH would like to feed me knock out drops at times! Glad you got home safely. Also, I am impressed with your cooking and freezing and remembering to use that freezer stuff. I’d love to learn your system. I try, but often once my containers go into the freezer, they never get out except into the garbage! I am working toward doing better and meal planning helps but I’m far from there. I hope your mammogram went well. I just had one too.
I was all set to head to water aerobics tonight, but the anesthetist who did my new eyebrows told me no pools for two weeks. Yikes, my WW coach will not be happy! Plus, I was hankering for ice cream tonight and had a bit.
Off to read and relax since I can’t exercise! Lol TTFN

Judy I am not a fan of ice cream but for some reason I was craving it as well and had a little bit. Must be something in the NE air lol.

Good morning friends. Today will be spent doing as little as possible...saving up my 'energy' to face whatever it is that the good doctor will tell me. Also will be celebrating Carl's bday afterwards.
Take care all!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday!! I have been busy on the computer and got some things ready to go in the mail, so I am at a good stopping place. I will dress shortly (yep, almost midday and I'm still in my gown and robe!).
I got the laundry all caught up yesterday, with the exception of some rugs to wash and put aside for later. So there's no rush on them. It was an all day process, but DH came home and folded and put away all his underwear and tee shirts and socks, so that helped a great deal.
I chopped up the turkey tenderloin and added a bit of FF turkey gravy, then served it over top the leftover stuffing. Alongside was a roasted sweet potato (which REALLY hit the spot) and some petite green peas. A true comfort food meal for us. I also had the hankering for some ice cream (must be the Super Moon) and indulged in one scoop of FF NSA butter pecan (Kroger brand). Really hit the spot!!
Judy ~ Bummer about no pool for two weeks, but you are wise to follow directions. Glad you enjoyed your ice cream treat as well.
Ann ~ Thanks for the encouragement on my mammogram. BTW, I got a call about 5 p.m yesterday from my PCP's office, notifying me that my results were normal. How great!! since the tech had told me my Doc would get results in a few days and I would get a letter in a couple of weeks. Seems they got the results and called me immediately to let me know. Now that is off my mind!!
Today is a beautiful sunny day, but bitter cold (in the single digits). I am planning to stay indoors all day. I finished my book yesterday and chose a new one and have it all ready to start today. I am renewing my license tabs and ordering a new plate (per the State's instructions) so that's ready to go in the mail.
I went online and signed up for Amazon Prime today. I had taken a trial offer and apparently it turned into the real deal, as I saw the charge on my Visa account. Since I do want to keep Amazon music (for Alexa) and I do order from Amazon (however seldom) I took the great savings of subscribing for the full year; and changed the credit card that I wanted it billed to. I trust them (so far) and hope they will follow through and remove the monthly charge from my Visa when they put the annual charge on my MasterCard. We'll see .......
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all!
I've been busy trying to get things done before we leave for San Antonio tomorrow morning. Got the laundry done yesterday and conducted the Alzheimer's Caregiver support group meeting. One member we hadn't seen in several months showed up. She had to put her loved one into a secure care unit in a nursing home and has moved to BTR to be nearby. I offered to help her locate a group closer to her new home, but she said, "No, I like THIS group." I was SO touched. After the meeting, I went to Walmart and picked up a comforter set that I think will work in the "new" bedroom. It was super cheap, but after reading reviews for several in the $50-$100 range, it seems they all tend to fall apart at the first washing, so I opted for the $30 one. Since the room won't be used much, I'm hoping to get at least $30 use out of it.
Today I was up and out early for hospice team meeting. My supervisor's husband suffered a stroke over the weekend, so I tried to fill in for her a little and catch up the things that had to be done prior to Monday. I was kind of rushed, because DD1 needed me to come care for Abby so she could conduct her bereavement group at 11:00. Abby had a dental filling and whatever they gave her as a sedative knocked her for a loop, so she couldn't go to school afterwards. She was walking crazy and cried because the doctor didn't put SpongeBob on her teeth?!?! Not sure what that was all about, lol! I stayed until about 1:30, came home for a late lunch of turkey gumbo from the freezer and promptly fell asleep in my chair. When I woke, I hurriedly packed and headed back to DD's to stay with the girls while DD and DSIL took Jude to his basketball game in BTR. Abby was herself again and I enjoyed my stay and beat Anna at Sorry several times. I made it home for 9:30 and will be headed to bed shortly. Dinner was leftover fried fish. The girls opted for spaghetti-O's from the can. YUCK!
We will be in San Antonio until Saturday, but I hope to check in from time to time.
Sue - Check out the movies and tv series on Amazon Prime! Justified was really good and NYPD Blue is awesome.
Ann - I will be praying for everything to go well at tomorrow's doctor appointment.
Judy - I had to google eyebrow ablation to figure out why you couldn't swim, lol. Now, I understand. Do you have an exercise bike, stepper or videos you could use for the 2 weeks? I would hate to see you lose your momentum, as you have been doing fantastic in the weight loss department.

Hi all,
Have fun in San Antonio, Pam. I have always wanted to go there, and a friend of mine here at work just came back from a trip to see her sister there. Everyone raves about the River Walk and sites. Are you visiting friends or on vacation on your own? Thanks for the tips on the exercise. I have both videos and also there are tons of things on You Tube, too. I think Leslie Sansone is there. Someone in my WW class talked about that so I am going to get moving out of the water! Aren't you a great role model for your daughter that she also runs a support group? You are amazing and so dedicated with your hospice group and you are helping so many as is evidenced by your loyal group member willing to make a long drive to stay with you.
Sue, we love our Amazon prime and would be lost without it. I have a long list of great British TV mysteries we watch. If you want it, I will send it as I just gave it to a co worker. I am not sure what types of shows you love, but I'm so impressed with the quality of the British mysteries and the way they are filmed, character development, etc.
Ann, good luck at the doctor's today. I am glad you will get in before the snowstorm. Sue, are you buried in snow again?
Have a good day all. I will meet with my former TOPS group - now called STARS - Standing Together and Reaching Success! We made it up!
I was up 1 lb at WW yesterday. Up and down with the same 5 lbs lately. I stayed after class for a talk with my leader and she was very helpful. I am remaining focused and intentional! I have been too wishy washy lately when it comes to temptation.
TTFN!
