Call me paranoid but I do not, and can not, honestly believe he was officially and legally elected by The People. My gut tells me he was "selected" by those who want to do us harm, and I'm not talking about enemies in foreign countries, although they're not innocent either. I'm talking about lying and cheating and 'fixing' the election. We had an intelligent, seasoned, well known politician who had 3 million more votes than this unqualified, unhinged, lunatic, and yet he sits in the Oval Office. Somethings rotten and it ain't in Denmark. I'll vote for whoever the Dems pick because our Founding Mothers fought so hard for me to have the right to vote. But, I ain't getting my hopes up anymore.
If half the country wants a madman in the WH let them have one. I have no children or grandchildren that I need to worry about what kind of America they, or their children, will grow up in. I have no horse in this race and I'm more than grateful for that. Besides, I hate horse racing!
America chose the worst possible being to be president. Or, did we? Either we're really, really stupid or really, really, stupid. Pick one. It could easily happen again. I can't look. lol.

At this point, I don't have a favorite in the race. Like Pat, I will vote for whoever the Democratic candidate is. I will never even consider voting for a Republican again, although I have in the past. I am for ANYONE beating this JA. And, I am really afraid that might not happen.

How can this aberration possibly have a 46% approval rating? That is just completely beyond my comprehension. I have never been so discouraged about my fellow citizens. I truly believed that we were all better than this, and it's a slap in the face to realize that we are not. As a whole, we're no better than those fanatics who jumped on the bandwagon and followed Hitler. I really believed we were, but we're not.
And I don't see a single candidate in the race right now who I think can beat Trump. Maybe if Biden gets in he can? The word "socialism" is completely being misinterpreted, and a very large portion of the country IMO will NOT vote for anyone branded with that label. Maybe on the coasts that would be acceptable, but in the middle of the country I don't think it will fly. I know for certain it will not fly with people in my little corner of the world. The word itself scares people. As a whole people are not going to take the time to find out what it really means, and the Republicans are hammering away at it. I really hate to say it, but I have reached the conclusion that a big percentage of Americans are just plain ignorant, and what's worse they're proud of it.
I also wish they would shut up about impeachment. Sure I'd like to see the JA kicked out the door on his a**. But the facts are that there will NEVER be enough votes in the Senate to convict him no matter what he may have done. Republicans are going to go along with anything he does just to stay in power. So impeaching when you know you can't convict is a pointless waste of time that will ultimately help the JA and hurt Democrats.
As for the CPAC debacle this weekend, it was bad enough that he made an absolute fool of himself as usual while the GOP cheered away, but come on! When you are depraved enough to cheer the death of a war hero? And that wasn't even the JA doing that! There were a lot of things I didn't agree with John McCain about, but I would never cheer his or anyone else's death--not even the JA and I utterly despise him. Cheering the death of someone is just about as low as you can sink. I'm beginning to think that as a whole we seem to have lost that inner voice inside us which is supposed to tell us right from wrong. I know the country I grew up in still had it. How did it disappear?

Since I'm Spring Cleaning my kitchen this week, I will also Spring Clean the Soap Box for the thread. I have a feeling it will be used a lot in the coming months. LOL...
Joyce, I totally agree with everything you said.
Just a quick check in while I take a quick break...This Spring Cleaning stuff is for younger people! I'd rather sit & drink tea & do something fun!...
Have a warm & sunny day!

"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final most essential command." George Orwell, "Truth is not truth." That's certainly what we are witnessing right now. People are totally ignoring what they see and hear with their own eyes and ears. It's like this mad man has somehow managed to come in and brain wash a huge portion of the country, and has them completely under his control. If I were reading this in a book, I'd say that's too far fetched to ever be believed. Steven King couldn't come up with anything as scary as what we find ourselves living on a daily basis.
I think being so sick all weekend I watched far too much news, and that's not good for me. Hopefully I will feel better soon, spring will arrive, and the Easter Bunny will magically make the JA just disappear.

Long list of things to be investigated. It really irritates me when I hear Republicans talk about Democrats overreaching. With the way this JA and his family have behaved, with the perpetual lies they all tell, etc. I truly don't see how it is possible to overreach. But, at the same time I want them to be careful and not give the JA a "poor little me" card to play with his base. You'd think people would have enough sense to see through that ploy, but as I said yesterday I've decided the bulk of our citizens are just really stupid and proud of it. What I really want, is what I think all of you want, to see this JA lose the election and be gone out of our lives. I'd like to see him locked up, but I'll settle for just getting rid of him. I want him to lose this election, and I want him to lose BIG! But I am really afraid that is not going to happen.
I am feeling better than I did over the weekend, but no improvement at all since yesterday -- in fact going the opposite direction again. So I called the doctor, and I have an appointment to see him at 10:00. Hopefully he can prescribe something stronger to knock this out. I've heard about sinus cocktail shots, but don't really know what those are. Have any of you ever had one? Did it help? I didn't get any sleep last night, and I'm afraid to go see my mom. This might not be contagious as DH hasn't caught it and he's surely had ample opportunity, but I don't dare take a chance as she's already so frail. I haven't seen her since last Thursday, but DH did go by and see her, he has trouble understanding her though so they don't communicate very well, but at least she knew he was there. DD and her family also went to see her over the weekend. I called the nurse and asked that the aides remind her that I am fine and she should not worry but have a sinus issue and don't want to take a chance on making her sick. I'm not sure if she'll understand or not, but it's the best I know to do. Hopefully the doctor will prescribe something today that will knock this out right away.

The JA says that he is being "Presidentially Harassed." I have news for him. I have been presidentially harassed since the day he was sworn into office.

That's not harassment. That's Karma. Besides, he isn't even a real president. He's a two bit reality tv personality who harasses us with stupid tweets, dumb ass comments and insulting lies all day long. He's an embarrassing joke.

As near as I can make out, McConnell came up with the phrase at the start of the mid-terms. Presidential harassment, I mean. Creepy latched onto it later.

Lani, I have to compliment you on your determination to resist speaking or typing the name that must never be mentioned or even acknowledged. I love how you do that!
