I just don't understand this continually lying that seems to permeate everything around the JA. So now it seems that Cohen did direct his former lawyers to contact the JA about a possible pardon. I don't think that shocks or surprises anyone, so what was the point in testifying that he never asked for a pardon? “I have never asked for it, nor would I accept a pardon from President Trump.” Why not just say my former attorney did talk with Guiliani about this, but that is no longer an issue, instead of trying to skate around it with what may not be an outright lie, but certainly is deceptive? Cohen's team says it was the JA's team of lawyers who were dangling the idea of a possible pardon, and that is why Cohen's former lawyers were talking with Guiliani about it. Either way, it seems to be pointless not to just lay it all out on the table. I think that in the "world" these people seem to live in lying is so pervasive it isn't even something they think about. They're so used to skirting the truth, deliberately lying, etc. that it is just a way of life. It's as natural as breathing. They really are all just slimy scum. It's like the entire country has become wrapped up in an episode of The Sopranos, only Tony may have had more honor in him than any of these characters. Certainly more than the JA.

I see Sherrod Brown from Ohio is not running for President. I was hoping maybe he would jump in. I've always liked his thoughts & ideas about different issues. I wonder if he thinks Biden is going to run & so decided not to. There isn't one candidate yet, I feel drawn too. Sigh!

I hadn't heard that Brown had decided not to run, but I did hear on CNN this morning that they were predicting a 95% chance that Biden will run. I wish he would hurry up and say one way or the other. I had originally not wanted Biden to run, but the more I hear from the TV commentators the more I think he may be our best hope to beat the JA. But then, those are the same people that told us Hillary was definitely going to win, so I'm not sure how much faith you can put into their opinions.

I keep thinking Biden & Kamala Harris?...but that would depend if she would want the #2 spot. I could get behind that. They both have a lot of explaining to do about past comments & support for various actions they backed. But then again, don't all candidates have that problem. I still like Amy Klobeucher. (sp?)....None of the others really peek my interest yet.

The longer Biden stays out, the longer before the serious bashing starts from the Republicans. I have heard he will announce in April.

Jeez, I guess one can try to sell the country to the Russians, witness tamper, defraud the government of millions in taxes & so much more & just get a slap on the wrist for 47 months because he led a "blameless" life before now...OMG! This judge must be JA favorite person tonight for letting Manafort off with practically nothing compared to his crimes! Oh, that's right, he hardly knew him since he only worked for him for 47 days (LIE) . Totally disgusted!

I am just shaking my head in disbelief!!! I'm with you Joyce. What a miscarriage of justice. Hopefully the next Judge will be far less lenient.
Linda I also like Sherrod Brown. I wish there were more moderates running. I don't see how we can win without a sizable chunk of the middle. I think most voters exist somewhere between the hard left and the far right.

I agree @lka5, and doordie50, that we must have a big chunk out of the middle in order to win, and that scares me with all these excited, new representatives who seem to be in a tug of war pulling the party to the far left. I consider myself to be pretty liberal, but I also think I'm pragmatic too. Too far in either direction never works out well, IMO. At first it was the TeaParty pulling the GOP to the extreme right, and look where that landed us. We don't want to allow that same thing to happen to the Democratic Party too. When I turned on Morning Joe this morning they were interviewing Governor John Hickenlooper from Colorado. Apparently he's throwing his hat into the ring. The things I heard him say sounded very reasonable, but I don't know much about him. What really struck me was they were trying very hard to stick him with a label of capitalist vs socialist. He was trying equally hard to avoid all labels. That seems to be a big part of our political problems now. We try to label everyone and every idea and stick it in a tiny little box so it is all one way or all the other. Whatever happened to a big melting pot of ideas? IMO, to succeed we've got to be a mixture of many flavors and can not be all one thing or all another. That's what we've got now. All Kool-Aid drinkers following a deluded mad man.

Some TV pundits seem to be trying to make a big deal out of the Democrats not holding any of their primary debates on Fox. To me it sounds like they're just trying to stir up controversy over nothing. What would be the point of holding primary debates on Fox? True Fox watchers are not going to be casting a vote for a Democrat, no matter what is said in a debate. Anyone who watches Fox and happens to be on the fence (although I can't really imagine such a person exists) can simply tune to whatever channel the debate is on. Sometimes I really get tired of commentators just trying to stir the pot and make "issues" where none really exist. We've got enough real division in the country without manufacturing more from nothing. It's blatantly clear that Fox is simply a JA propaganda machine, and has been for a very long time.
I'm also sick and tired of hearing about how the Democratic party has gone so far to the left. I don't see that. I think there are some in the party who are very far left, but I think the party itself is still more to the center. Yet the pundits keep shouting these self-fulfilling prophecies which scare people. Perhaps we were better off before the days of 24-hr news. We saw the news for 30 minutes at a time at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and it actually was news instead of rambling opinions. There's no way to turn the clock back. Even if politics weren't being blasted constantly around the clock on TV there's still websites and social media. Maybe a lot of our problem is there's just too much. Technology is a double edged sword. Maybe we were actually better informed before we were so inundated with the opinions of everyone who very often probably don't know much more about what's going on than we do ourselves. Maybe what we really need is to just unplug.

www.huffpost.com/entry/erik-prince-donald-trump-jr-trump-tower-meeting-suadi-arabia_n_5c834ed7e4b08d5b7861d58dI hope that Donny Jr goes to jail even more so than JA. I can't stand this sniveling little twit!...Sounds to me it more than just Russian collusion, but also Saudia Arabia as well. I heard the other day that many call Jared K. the "Clown Prince" since he is so cozy with the Crown Prince of SA. It's right in front of everyone's nose & the Kool Aide drinkers just refuse to accept whats right there for all the world to see. Of course, we all know, that the Republicans are going to push the Socialist theme, the anti-Jewish Democratic Party, whatever floats their boat full of lies. Did you see where JA was signing Bibles in Alabama yesterday!...Good Grief! Someone posted..."Do you know what the difference between Donald Trump & God is?"..."God doesn't pretend to be Trump!"....Someone else posted that JA has broken all the 7 deadly sins in the book he was signing & used the same hand to sign with that he used to pay off his porn mistresses..... My BFF was complaining today about how she got really slapped with a high tax bill this year. I bit my lip, but I so badly wanted to say to her to vote wiser in 2020. She is a Republican & she voted for Trump!....But, I was a good friend & changed the subject LOL....Sometimes you have to choose your battles wisely...LOL

The Bible signing is just way over the top, but what bothers me more than his having the arrogance to sign a Bible is that those people actually wanted his autograph on their Bible. How warped is that?!! I wouldn't want his autograph on my toilet paper, and I for sure don't want him anywhere near my Bible. That's just sick!

As for Don Jr and Jared as well as Ivanka, I don't have any words to describe them. I believe whole heartedly that they were all busy selling out the country making lucrative deals based on the JA's candidacy and presidency. For them it's all just another get richer quick scheme. I hope they all end up in jail. I'm certain they all deserve to be there. Eric must really be stupid that they so far haven't seemed to entrust him with anything more than a golf course in Scotland. There is simply no end to the insatiable greed of these people.
