This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Thirsty Thursday is a reminder to drink water.
Martha- good for you for getting your steps in!
Yesterday was a big walking day for me. Meetings keep me on my toes. The director was here for the meeting & said that this was the first of these meetings were healthy options were served. I had plenty of fruit & I cooked up a bunch of boiled eggs. The guys love it. Everyone is impressed with how nice our new building is.
I went out last night with the gf that had the heart attack. She looks rested and prettier than ever. I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am that she is still around. She ended up buying our dinner to thank us for helping her. I think I mentioned that she collapsed on our snowmobile trip over New Years. My gf was there and she's a nurse. Also a paramedic did CPR until the ambulance arrived. I know CPR but in reality you just don't get what's happening. We thought maybe it was a seizure. I'm just so thankful she is ok. She is my age. 51. That's way too young to have a heart attack. She had zero warning.
I was going to order a dinner last night and I ended up just getting the sandwich. I didn't want a big heavy dinner so late last night. I guess that's my tip of the day. How many of you just order an appetizer instead of a full blown meal. Or just the sandwich. I got a chicken parm deal with some sweet potato fries. I ate 1/2 the bun & 1/2 the fries. Now if I could just leave the wine alone I would be set.
Thinking of all of you. Especially those that are struggling.

A quick check in before I get my usual Thursday Foo-Foo coffee. That's what my DH calls the Latte I order. My once a week indulgence - well at least as far as coffee goes.
Appetizer for a meal - you are right, Melinda. I do that sometimes, but we eat out so rarely. No place other than pizza or burgers here in our town.
Frieda - Out temps have been crazy warm the last few days and I have spring fever! I think we are going to do some spring skiing on Saturday. Maybe make a jaunt to the winery.

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!!
Back from my physical with ye olde doctor. I'm healthy! Yay!
DMom is scheduled for surgery 3/9. The tumor is 3cm big, in her stomach, near her spleen. If they need to, they will remove the spleen as well. The good news is that there is high probability that it is not even cancerous. Fingers crossed there!! She will get the official go ahead after talking to her doctor (today or tomorrow, I forget which) because she will have to go off of her blood thinners for a few days before the surgery. They all want me to fly up for a few days for it; we're going to have to figure that out. It is during the same time that my DFIL is coming down to visit, so more to come there, for sure.
Melinda, 51 is an awfully young age for a heart attack. Did your gf ever find out what caused it, and is she taking meds or anything now? I eat appetizers instead of full meals all the time. DH and I like to split a couple of light appetizers and a bottle of wine when we go out. Much easier to handle.
Frieda, thinking of you. This is the time of year when you soooooooo want spring, but you keep getting teased up north. DH and I were just saying the other day how much we disliked March up north. All 31 days, and never as warm as you want it to be!!!
Karla, I love lattes. We call them "most premium coffees" after this book that DH read.
I hope all that have not shown up yet are doing well. Hugs!!~
