We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they've hatched!

"The government of China awarded U.S. President Donald Trump valuable rights to his own name this week, in the form of a 10-year trademark for construction services.
The registration became official on Feb. 14 and was published in a trademark registration announcement on the website of China's Trademark Office on Wednesday.
This may well be the first foreign trademark to be handed to Trump during his presidency, but is unlikely to be the last. In China alone he has 49 pending trademark applications and 77 marks already registered in his own name, most of which will come up for renewal during his term." -- ABC News
And Republicans try to pretend his foreign policy decisions are not going to be affected by his business ties? Do they really think the rest of us are stupid enough to fall for that?

And he's holding another campaign style rally in Florida this weekend. Even advertising it on TV. The man can't stop campaigning. Personally, I think it is his incessant need to hear cheers all around him. Even if the cheers are jeers in his mind he will turn them into cheers and expect us all to believe it. He is obsessed with receiving public adulation.

Good Grief. That China Tradmark news is interesting! Evidently most Republican's just don't give a damn what he does as long as he beat Hilary. Gosh remember the the outcry about the Clinton Foundation!...Actually a Foundation that used its money to help the less fortunate around the World. As for the rally, you would think the Secret Service would advise against that, because I can almost bet there will be a slew of protesters. Maybe that's what he what's, is to stir up trouble. Of course during these rallies more & more of his insane rattling comes out. He's so morally corrupt it's just unbelievable that he has anyone who thinks he deserves to be President. But he sure does & FOX news does a great job of brainwashing his supporters.

Here I am, up and back among you rebel-rousers . Thank you for all your good thoughts and wishes. They helped, they really did. Looks like a lot of interesting conversations going on, will just pick up from here, things are moving so fast.
A friend of ours called the other day from D.C. and said he gets up thinking that he is going to do one thing then the W.H. does something stupid that he has to address.
Read some where "the Democrats are doing their best to find spines for the Republicans", it would be funny if it were not so true.

Little F.Y.I:
Who wants to gamble? I see that the betting odds (mostly in the U.K.) of impeachment are increasing to roughly 50-50.
Should we be encouraged?
I continue to remain more cautious b/c the 2016 betting odds were significantly higher and of course were wrong, both for Brexit and Putin (oops, I meant Trump).

Interesting:
Psychiatrist: Calling Donald Trump Mentally Ill Is An Insult To The Mentally Ill âHe may be a world-class narcissist, but this doesnât make him mentally ill.â
"A leading psychiatrist is pushing back after a group of industry professionals wrote a letter to The New York Times saying Donald Trump suffers from âgrave emotional instabilityâ that âmakes him incapable of serving safely as president.â
But itâs not exactly a letter of support for the president.
Allen Frances, professor emeritus of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke University Medical College, told the newspaper that he wrote the criteria for narcissistic personality disorder â and Trump doesnât meet it.
âHe may be a world-class narcissist, but this doesnât make him mentally ill, because he does not suffer from the distress and impairment required to diagnose mental disorder,â he wrote.
He added:
âMr. Trump causes severe distress rather than experiencing it and has been richly rewarded, rather than punished, for his grandiosity, self-absorption and lack of empathy. It is a stigmatizing insult to the mentally ill (who are mostly well behaved and well meaning) to be lumped with Mr. Trump (who is neither).â
Frances called on others in the industry to stop âpsychiatric name-callingâ and instead denounce Trump âfor his ignorance, incompetence, impulsivity and pursuit of dictatorial powers.â

Yuppers!!!!!!!!!!!
"Mr. President: âJust who the hell do you think you are?â' President Trump is chafing under the limits to his executive power. Alex Brandon Associated Press
BY LEONARD PITTS, JR.
"Dear Mr. So-Called President:
So, let me explain to you how this works.
You were elected as chief executive of the United States. I wonât belabor the fact that you won with a minority of the popular vote and a little help from your friends, FBI Director James Comey and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The bottom line is, you were elected.
And this does entitle you to certain things. You get your own airplane. You get free public housing. You get greeted with snappy salutes. And a band plays when you walk into the room.
But there is one thing to which your election does not entitle you. It does not entitle you to do whatever pops into your furry orange head without being called on it or, should it run afoul of the Constitution, without being blocked.
You and other members of the Fourth Reich seem to be having difficulty understanding this. Reports from Politico and elsewhere describe you as shocked that judges and lawmakers can delay or even stop you from doing things. Three weeks ago, your chief strategist, Steve Bannon, infamously declared that news media should âkeep its mouth shut and just listen for a while.â facebook Just last Sunday, senior policy adviser Stephen Miller declared on CBSâ âFace The Nationâ that âour opponents, the media and the whole world will soon see as we begin to take further actions, that the powers of the president to protect our country are very substantial and will not be questioned.â
What you do âwill not be questioned?â Lord, have mercy. Thatâs the kind of statement that, in another time and place, would have been greeted with an out-thrust palm and a hearty âSieg heil!â Here in this time and place, however, it demands a different response:
Just who the hell do you think you are?
Meaning you and all the other trolls you have brought clambering up from under their bridges. Maybe you didnât notice, but this is the United States of America. Perhaps youâve heard of it? Nation of laws, not of individuals? First Amendment? Freedom of the press? Any of that ringing a bell?
Letâs be brutally clear here. If you were a smart guy with unimpeachable integrity and a good heart who was enacting wise policies for the betterment of all humankind, youâd still be subject to sharp scrutiny from news media, oversight from Congress, restraint by the judiciary â and public opinion.
And you, of course, are none of those things. I know you fetishize strength. I know your pal Vladimir would never stand still for reporters and judges yapping at him.
I know, too, that youâre accustomed to being emperor of your own fiefdom. Must be nice. Your name on the wall, the paychecks, the side of the building. You tell people to make something happen, and it does. You yell at a problem, and it goes away. Nobody talks back. I can see how it would be hard to give that up.
But you did. You see, youâre no longer an emperor, Mr. So-Called President. Youâre now what is called a âpublic servantâ â in effect, an employee with 324 million bosses. And let me tell you something about those bosses. Theyâre unruly and loud, long accustomed to speaking their minds without fear or fetter. And they believe power must always answer to the people. Thatâs at the core of their identity.
Yet you and your coterie of cartoon autocrats think youâre going to cow them into silence and compliance by ordering them to shut up and obey? Well, as a freeborn American, I can answer that in two syllables flat.
Hell no! Leonard Pitts Jr"

And why do we need another victory lap at the expense of the Taxpayers of America???
"Gawd mon, ye won. Why do you have to keep proving it to yourself?"
Well, at least the guy doesn't "sit around playing golf!" Oh wait, he does. Groan!
Linda- very interesting about the China Trade Mark. The Drump is following his leader's example and lining his pockets while in the position of President.
Joyce running out of glue yet? I will need the glue and a seat-belt to keep me from falling off the bench from laughing at the ludicrous rantings of what is coming out of the W.H. and from D.T.supporters.
Definition of ludicrous. 1 : amusing or laughable through obvious absurdity, incongruity, exaggeration, or eccentricity. 2 : meriting derisive laughter or scorn as absurdly inept, false, or foolish. (yea, that covers it for today)

Anne, I've ordered more glue--a bulk supply because I was afraid we might run out. The man may not be clinically crazy, but he is delusional. Just heard a few minutes of his press conference on the car radio. Yep, he is definitely delusional. At one point I had to literally laugh out loud. According to him, all his problems are initiated by Hillary Clinton. Then he actually said that his travel ban (and HE called it a ban) had a very smooth roll out. Any negative issues were caused by a bad court decision, but the travel ban roll out actually went very smoothly. Like I said, delusional. Also anyone who disagrees or opposes him are not speaking their own mind, but are simply being falsely led by the "other" side. Get real!! I think the man actually doesn't understand that anyone could disagree with him and not just bow down as he passes by. Afterall, when he signs the paycheck people do as he says. Every time he opens his mouth, he just digs his hole deeper. No wonder Melania decided to stay in New York at least temporarily. She probably knew him well enough to suspect that he might not be in the White House long enough to make it worth the move. Besides, she's probably really grateful to have the time away from him. You can't blame her.

Anne, Welcome back! I'm so glad you're feeling better. Oh, it's so nice to see you here. We missed you, dear lady. We need you.
I think I'm in love with Leonard Pitts, Jr. Please keep this between us, okay? Don't say anything to my spouse, Joyce. It would break her heart. lol.
I have a question. Why are so many of you sitting on the bench? The other side never takes time out. They never feel the need to sit on their hands or hold back their feelings, opinions, lies, or crazy ideas. This is a real battle. A war. All's fair in love and war, right?

Anne...to correct the record, it was Joyce who mentioned the China Trademark ...I had not heard that before & found it interesting.
Well, that was beyond weird, this 1 hour & 15 minute press conference. I listened to every second of it & was laughing so hard at times & just kept thinking, " keep talking" because you are digging yourself a hole that you are never going to get out of...the more he rambled, ranted, whined etc the more he looked like the stupid idiotic egotistical morally corrupt baby he is. Unbelievable. I may have laughed at his performance but in reality he is a very dangerous President. And Bannon, Milker & Stone in the background is just as frightening...Wake up Republican Congress! Just shaking head!
