Just checking in. Trying to do a little laundry since it has piled up. Going up and down the stairs is quite a chore. Tired.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele I'm sure you are tired from the bronchitis.Take it easy.
We went to Bastrop this morning. We found out our income tax return was ready for us to sign so we stopped at H&R Block. We also needed groceries for the weekend so we stopped at the Bastrop HEB Plus.Neither of us like that place b/c it's so big and it's always like a zoo on weekends. Was glad to be out of there.I went for a walk this afternoon. It was 85 and according to my weather station on my end table it must have briefly hit 89.I was so hot after the walk because it was sunny and absolutely no wind.I came in and it was 82 in the house so I unplugged the heater and plugged in the AC.I'm sure I will turn it off before bedtime because I think our high tomorrow is supposed to be 70.It has been too warm for March so I'm glad it will be a little cooler anyway.Monday and Tuesday we are expecting rain.
Waving to Karen,Kathy and Liz.I hope everyone is doing okay.

Chele, I'm sorry you are still feeling the effects of your illness. I remember those days of living on one floor and having the laundry facilities on another--or in another building when I was an apartment dweller. Not the easiest thing even when you're feeling normal. We have the master on one end of the house and laundry room at the other. Dale is currently having to carry baskets to and from for me so I don't fall. I hope you didn't overdo and will make significant health gains this coming week. Has Iggy heard anything?
Very unfortunate that allergies are so bad for you, Linda. Are your temperatures at least stabilizing? Has the shot kicked in yet? When do you leave for your trip? Vancouver, right?
Liz, how are you doing this weekend? I hope you are getting some rest? I hope you are having a quiet and restorative weekend.
Oh, Becky, how I envy your warm weather! I'm happy you got to walk outside. Quite a difference between 89 today and 70 tomorrow. If you're getting rain Monday and Tuesday, I imagine we'll be looking at it for later in the week. Just what we need, more rain. I can imagine what a zoo HEB is on weekends. I saw an article last week that said their average store is 70,000 square feet, which is about twice the size of where I go.
Kathy, what did you get into today? Did you and DM do something today that didn't involve grocery shopping? Are you getting warm weather like Becky is?
Someone asked how close DB/DSIL will be after they move. They will be maybe an hour closer by car. But they will be closer to the Mobile airport (about 40 minutes) than they currently are to the Pittsburgh airport (about 1.5 hours) and the flights are a bit shorter, so when I go I will probably fly and rent a car. I got tired of waiting for the president and shipped the newsletter last night, so that is done. Wonder if anyone but her will notice that there is nothing presidential in it. I read most of the day. I saw an interview this past week with the author of a new book on climate change called Uninhabitable Earth and got a deal and a coupon last night so I downloaded it and got about 1/4 of the way through it today. Very sobering. Dale's trail marathon is a week from tomorrow and this time he is paying more attention to nutrition, which is awesome. He has read that he needs to up protein for the next several days and we talked through vegetarian protein options, so I hope that will help him run strong. Speaking of strong, I hope to get released on Monday and one of my first tasks when I get home will be to set up the vibration machine so I can start using it and hopefully Arya will let me get 10 minutes a day on it while Dale is in VA next weekend. I also started breaking in my new Birkenstocks today and plan to wear them to the doc on Monday, even though it will be a little chilly for sandals (low 50s). Hope to be walking well enough to hit Publix afterward and maybe even do 10 minutes on the NuStep.

got interrupted... Set out after chores to find a Rhinase, a nasal spray that is saline plus something to prevent dryness. I isranked about the stuff with drugs. I was on Flonase or something similar for 15 years and stopped with nose bleeds two years ago..supposedly no long term effects...which I kept asking about and looking for. If you look now, even this nasal steroid redustributes body fat, causes increased appetite and more. Could not find this stuff in stores, mainly store brand saline, so it is coming from Amazon tomorrow.
Along with that fruitless hunt, I got Bob's herbal tuna salad and cough drops at Sprouts;his cereal, couple veggies, And my Nordic Ultimate Omega capsules at Whole Foods; make up at CVS; book to library; book to tradefor credit at local bookstore; two cases offig foidsnd treats with nice coupon at Pet smart, and astop at bank to add to my prepaid debit. Phew.
Car registration renewal came for the Hyundai I bought last year....$8.35 to register but fees and 367 on property tax on car! That us $387 for a year old car here. wow.

Chele, sorry you're still not feeling well. Going up and down stairs with laundry isn't easy even when you're feeling okay. Not that I know since I only have one story!
Becky, it's been too warm for March here too. Enjoy the cooler weather tomorrow.
Karen, no shopping today, yay! I think we had about the same weather as Becky and tomorrow is supposed to be very warm. Hope you get good news from the doctor and the feet(s) are improved enough by Monday that you can go shopping. That book title does sound sobering.
Linda, that was a lot of places in one day! That's really expensive on the car registration. I just renewed mine and it was $65 which included an extra $25 for my FSU plate. No property tax on the cars here.
Liz, hope you had a nice, relaxing day.

Good evening chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Chele - I hope you will get some of your appetite back and feel a bit better every day! Bronchitis can be very debilitating and as I'm sure you are realizing will zap your energy something fierce! Please take special care of you and hope Iggy is doing well also. Linda - I got tired just reading what you did today. I was proud that I managed to walk the pups twice and went out to BB&B along with WM to do some hands on shopping which I haven't done in months. Allergies can certainly kick our tushies! I have dealt with them more in the past few years than just seasonally previous. Please let me know how you do with the Rhinase? Becky - sorry to know the back is still bothering you but really pleased to hear that although warm; you were able to do some walking. I felt like you when I went into WM this afternoon even though it was later in the afternoon. The darn place was a zoo with people!! Kathy - how goes things with you today? Any plans for you and/or with Mom. YAY that you don't have to do the weekend grocery thing! How is the weather there? We are expecting another 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow morning before it's supposed to turn to rain. Karen - how are the feets feelin in the new Birkies? How sad and comical that you've sent the newsletter out and the president didn't contribute squat! You're a good egg my friend! Are you getting all the rain that I've been hearing may come through your way? They were talking about tornados in the south and heavy snow in the mid-west. The book you're reading might keep me awake at night if I'm guessing right. Work was on my emails this morning and then the phone tonight. I sometimes don't know why we take days off as they just intrude and not allow for any true unplugging!! I hope Dale is cooperative and does well with you on his nutrition prep for the upcoming race. I am off to give the pups their treats and then hopefully ice my knees and rest a bit. Have a safe and nice evening dear ladies! Ciao for now~

Karen Today the problem with the warm weather was it was sunny and absolutely no wind on the road so it really felt hot.I was perspiring by time I got back in the house which is why I turned the window AC on.On the 6:00 news they are saying a high in the upper 70's tomorrow which won't be quite so bad.We had a light rain shower this morning but it turned out beautiful. Our next rain is coming from the Pacific and should be Mon and Tues and maybe through Wed morning.I know you have had quite a bit of rain but we have finally gotten to the time where we could use a little now.I'm sure the 70,000 sq ft for HEB is for the HEB Plus stores.Ours in Elgin isn't a HEB Plus so it's not quite so bad except when kids are out of school or Sunday afternoons.I hope you get good news about your feet(s) Monday.
Linda You got a lot of errands run as usual.I don't think I want to use anything that would increase my appetite. It's big enough already.LOL.I'm glad our car registration isn't that expensive.
Kathy I agree it's too warm for March.I hope this doesn't mean both of us will have extra hot summers.
Liz Even our Elgin WM is busy on weekends. They seem to get the overflow from HEB on Sundays.I hope you can get some rest.

“I hope you all got your clocks updated, except Linda, of course. Now it is back to dark mornings for me.
Another quick check in. Things are clearing up and out and I am tired of being tired, but this shall pass. I still have a ton of laundry to do but I am letting it go for now. I have an appointment to get the taxes done tomorrow after lunch so I am saving my energy for that.
Karen, I hope the Birkies are making your feet happier. Liz, I hope the evil forces left you alone today. Kathy, no Smonday for you! Linda, I hope the allergies are not killing you. Becky, I hope your back pain has eased and you nad a beautiful day in the 70s.

Linda, that is such an adorable picture of your grand niece and the turtle. I understand the car registration all too well. In addition to the property tax and registration fee, TN counties are permitted by law to collect a "wheel tax". Most counties don't but, of course, mine does. So in addition to the other fees, we get to pay $50 extra per vehicle. "Only" comes out to $265, so cheaper than yours. But then we are a lot more rural and don't have some of the amenities that your fees support. You're able to get the Nordic Ultimate Omegas? I was getting them through VitaminShoppe.com and they haven't had them for a few months so I tried a couple other places and still had no success, so I figured it was a manufacturer problem and switched to Garden of Life brand.Whew! is right on all your errands. When I have that many stops, I always have to create a list in my phone or I forget half of them. I also use a grocery app, so that helps.
Did you wear yourself out doing laundry yesterday, Chele? What you didn't get done isn't going anywhere. I hope you can get your stamina built back up this week and get ahead of that bronchitis. Save your energy for the tax appointment. Did you get any of that midwest snow? New Birkies are good and I may have to break down and buy a pair of the leather ones, which are more than double what I paid for the EVA ones. I have a couple of stitches that haven't dissolved and they are pulling, which is creating pain, so I'll see if he can cut them tomorrow and I hope I will feel much better.
Becky, the article said the average HEB is 70K sq ft and the Plus were larger. Maybe yours is smaller than average. I'll bet it's still bigger than my local Food City. Did your temperature drop like it was supposed to and you're in the 70s instead of 80s today? I hope you had a nice walk outdoors. Did you go to church?
Cool photo, Liz. OBX?? I hope you aren't dealing with allergies already. That would not be good. Since he was a southern boy, I'm anxious to see how Wally adapts to spring fever in NY this year. Hope he will breeze through it. Don't know about my being a good egg, but I had a couple of time sensitive things in the newsletter and I thought it would be better to take a chance and get it out to benefit the membership. I can't help that the president seriously overcommits herself and I do plan to ask if it would help if I would shoot her an email reminder a couple of weeks before the deadline. I've gotten some emails from members telling me how much they liked the newsletter and not one of the mentioned there was nothing from the president in it, so I'm not sure they even noticed. How are the knees doing? I saw something called an ITBandz on FB that they claim eliminates the need to wear a knee brace. It's only $19.95 on Amazon, so if my knee still acts up after I get back on my feet more, I may try one. I did read an article that said the worst exercises for your knees are lunges, squats, and leg extension on a weight machine, so I will most likely be cutting those out. We got some rain yesterday but nothing more substantial and not nearly as much as some parts of the South.
Kathy, the title isn't the only thing sobering about the book I'm reading. By 2100, your house could be beachfront, with the entire southern half of FL under water! Also, there are apparently a number of deadly diseases frozen in the glaciers that are melting at a rapid rate that could become airborne. The further into this book I get, the more I think the Green New Deal may not go far enough. I hope I will feel up to Publix tomorrow after the doc because I drank my last bottle of my favorite kombucha with lunch today and need a few other things that I can only get at Publix and Kroger, and I don't want to fight the crowds at Kroger with sore feet wearing sandals. Do you have any big plans for the week. After I retired, I found it helped me if I had one decent-sized project identified at the beginning of the week and chipped away at it during the week.
Dale went to the orchard then the grocery store and is now out on the kayak (can you say "jealous"??). I read some, did a load of workout clothes, and have a loaf in the bread machine. We have a cloudy, windy day, but it's mid 60s, so I think we'll have dinner on the screened porch this evening. Weird BP thing again this morning. I was a little dizzy in the shower and took my BP when I sat down and it was 105/69. So I waited a couple of minutes and took it again. 94/65! I drank some OJ (potassium) and had a veggie burger (iron) for lunch. BP has been in the normal range since. I do plan to mention it to the new doc/PA/NP when I get an appointment lined up. New avatar is the eagles' nest. Not sure if you can tell from that angle, but there are 3 or 4 trees that come together and I'm guessing the nest is at least 6 ft across. It's more visible than I thought it would be.

Chele We only had one clock to set so that made it easy and Kenneth always does it the night before. It is cloudy with a nice breeze but is currently 79.It's only 75 in the house so after my walk I changed into shorts and short sleeves and turned on the ceiling fan instead of the AC.Yes you need to save your energy for tomorrow.
Karen I'm sure the Elgin HEB is bigger than your Food City. When WM moved into Elgin HEB said they would build a bigger store but instead they ended up making it bigger. After many years they finally put a road in between HEB and Walmart so you don't have to get on 290 to go to one from the other. Our low was 53 but it has just jumped to 80.It was 75 when I walked and now it's 75 in the house so at least no AC.It's only supposed to get down to 60 tonight but we will see the next few days if the rain lowers the temp much.At the end of the 7 day forecast it might get cooler then.We are expecting highs in the 60's and 70's this week.I'm glad you got nice e-mails about the newsletter.I am sorry you are still having BP issues.
Waves to all.

I get the Nordic naturals at Whole Foods, but they are also on Amazon cheaper. They are the ones my eye dr. said to get.
Sounds like everyone is busy as usual.
Today was no fun. I finally decided to add a drip line to the existing watering system where it runs short. It should have been simple attachment screwed on like a sprinkler head with some adaption pieces for screw sizes, but it leaked. I tried more parts and added something to the line to let water out at the end for pressure. nope. Got different parts that worked , but then water coming up from ground. Finally figured out I need to replace the glue in sprinkler holder because it leaks which was not noticeable before because it had a water outlet.Probably the yard guys kicked it. Sigh. So tomorrow I hacksaw it off, glue in a new one as it is right at an end point and might as well just add on to the line while I am at it and skip messing with gerryrigged drip line! Lot of time and effort wasted.
Pot roast tonight is at least easy and has leftovers! Smells good.

Good Evening Chicks,
Linda - WOW on all that work and still not being able to resolve. I hope you enjoy the pot roast! Made chicken quesadillas this evening and did the chicken breasts in the crock pot. I forgot to mention that I use the same Jarrow Curcumin 95 that I found originally at Whole Foods but then found less expensive on Amazon.
Kathy - how goes the weekend for you? I am envious that you will not have to get up with the alarm tomorrow, I must admit. So interesting that you've had an exceptionally warm March and we've been cold and snowy until now.
Chele - wishing you continued improvement in feeling better and sending your warm thoughts and tender hugs!
Becky - wow on those summer-like temperatures. We were rainy and warmer today but still have several inches on snow that hasn't melted on the grassy surfaces. It makes walking the pups pretty interesting as you might imagine. How's the back today?
Karen - the picture was last Monday when I came out of the house to go to work. I will look up the band you mentioned to see if it might be beneficial to me. Thanks for the information; I am hoping to not be so busy that I can make an appt. with the physiatrist for follow-up and talk about both knees again. The gel one shot helped but can't change the damage to the meniscus. I think it's great that you get the newsletter out and the group enjoys it even without the president's input. How are those "feets" doing? I did grocery shopping this morning and it was very quiet as most folks stayed away because of the weather. I've been trying to lay low today other than walking the pups and cooking dinner and some light cleaning. My body is never happy when clocks go ahead; it throws my whole system off and I had a lousy night of sleep to boot.
I am off to take Wally out for his evening walk and then try to ice the knees before attempting to get to bed early! Be safe, and feel well dear ladies; ciao for now~
