LOL to the rat for a pet. The gal that works for our dentist has one dog 2 cats that she recently put down and replaced with one, a huge fish tank, 3 bunnies and are you ready for this? an alligator. She also has 2 children. I call her Mrs Doolittle. She is such an upbeat person...I guess she just LOVES her animals Have fun at the Cape. I decided to forego making my mani pedi appointment. Just not in the mood for it even though they are both way overdo. I heard thunder early morning. Not doing a thing out there now...but the sky looks pretty strange. Yes Bonnie was hospitalized with pneumonia. She is a smoker and after Dave died I guess she was smoking more heavily. She also lost a boatload of weight and got down to 87#'s. She is slowly putting it back on as her strength increases. I pray that she quits the butts for good. Waving and wishing all a wonderful Friday.

Sorry to hear about Bonnie. I hope she quits the cigarettes, too. She sure is a lightweight-poor soul. She's lucky to have a pal like you, Ann.
Back from the Tax Man. Beatles song keeps going through my head. He's a terrific guy and we wind up chatting a lot about this and that before we get down to business. All went per usual.
It's a lovely day for sure. I hated to come back inside. Hope you were able to get out walking a bit, Ann. Wish this weather would continue.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~ TGIF!! My Thursday was busy, busy with household chores and switching seasons clothing and laundry. I had a nails appointment this morning, then right from there to get my hair done. My hairdresser/GF and I had a nice lunch (soup and salad bar for me) then I came home. I have put away a few more winter things and am at a good stopping place. In re: DH's A-Fib - he found out that the new young cardiologist that he spoke with the other day (at his Cardiology office) had set him up for cardioversion and had the scheduler call him to set up an appointment. (WHAT?!?!) He and I had agreed that he needed to see HIS cardiologist before making any decisions, and had made an appointment for April 4th. When he got the VM from the scheduler, he called back himself and explained why that was not going to work for him. In years past, he would have let me handle that, but he has really learned how to be his own advocate! He tells me I taught him, and if so I did a good job. As far as medication, he is already on Coumadin (for his prosthetic aortic valve) and Lopressor (for two cardiac stents placed years ago) so he is covered medication-wise. I am very proud of his new ability to *listen* to the doctors and to decide what's best for him (as well as whom to trust). We had terrible storms last night! There was a tornado warning and the area included the I-75 corridor, which is where DH's VBF was traveling home from UP North. I was able to reach him by phone and warn him of the impending danger. But the wind and rain and hail were atrocious!! It is cooling back down today as well as rainy. I came home after lunch and turned on the TV. My partner at school had told me about a TV show called "A Million Little Things", so I found it on On Demand today and watched the first episode. She says it is very good, so it is definitely something for me to try. My pork roast smells great in the crock pot; and I have fresh asparagus ready to roast in the oven as well as a sweet potato ready to microwave. We have two cups of NSA cinnamon applesauce ready also. BBL. Make a great day!!

Good afternoon!
Well, I am up only .6 today at WI, so I think that may mean I actually lost a bit, since we had dinner out last night. I'm anxious to see what next Friday shows. Meanwhile, I will KOKO with the tracking.
I did two hospice intake interviews yesterday and one was a real downer. Such a sad man! He had a negative comment for EVERYTHING. I am hoping we can cheer him up a little and help him adjust to life in a nursing home. He was apparently diagnosed with a type of blood cancer 4 years ago and did absolutely nothing after receiving the diagnosis. Incredible! And sadly, now it is to late to treat and he is no longer able to live alone.
We enjoyed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee play at little theatre last night, even though the local newspaper reviewer panned it. My DSIS came, too, and actually spoke to DH, a big improvement. (I may have mentioned how heartsick I have been over their falling out, with both too stubborn to apologize. I hope in time the rift will mend.) Anyway, we giggled a lot over the silly antics.
This morning I went to Adoration and after breakfast made a hospice visit. I love visiting this man, who is from my hometown. Unfortunately, he was not feeling well today and was very short of breath. We had a good visit anyway. He is always so grateful for the company.
I had salmon and crackers and some grapes for lunch. Dinner will be seafood gumbo and DH and I will split a small crab casserole, both from the freezer.
Sue - I'm with you on tracking accurately. It doesn't make any sense to lie to yourself. Also, lots of times, once it's all tracked, I find I didn't do as badly as I thought. The renovation was the last of our DD's rooms, now guest rooms. We haven't had chicken parmesan in a while and it is my favorite Italian dish. I can't decide whether to cook some or use it as an excuse to eat out at our favorite Italian restaurant soon.
Ann - DD2 made her trip in safety, thank goodness and beat the snow to Lincoln. She was a sweetie and let us know she arrived safely. It's so nice of Alexa to keep you up to date on holidays, lol. I, too, missed the update on Bonnie. Hope she is okay and gives up on smoking, even though it is very hard to do. She has become and honorary cafe dweller.
Judy - Hope you have a great weekend at the Cape. I am slowly putting the bedroom back together, culling even more stuff to either throw away or give away. I did a lot of that as we moved furniture, etc. out before the reno, but there is still too much stuff. I also need to shop for some inexpensive night tables and lamps. Hope your "baby" recovers soon!

Good morning all. Slept well and hope y'all did also.
LOL on the Tax Man song, Judy. We have been going to the same guy for eons. He's in Worcester so we mail our stuff to him and do it that way. We also got to open the slider to our screen room yesterday. Such wonderful weather even though it's very 'muddy walking' LOL. I'll take it. Must have been a heck of a storm somewhere last night as we could see lightening....but no rain. We lucked out.
Sorry for you storm,, Sue. Hope your weather is better today. MMM nothing like a good smell from a croc kpot. Happy that DH is doing is own doctor calling. It will be awhile before I attempt the ol' closet switching!
LOL Pam nor will there be a pet rat in mine!!!!! I'll stick to one dog and one cat LOL. That is great that you are only up .6 I so believe in the balancing act...eating more, drink water and move more keeps the weight in check most of the time.
Wishing AWF a pleasant and OP day. Will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! We have beautiful sunshine today though the cold has returned, but only for a few days. It promises to be a nice week and I hope we can take the kiddos out to play as they have been in for one week because of cold and another week because of ice, so we're DUE!
I had another great night's sleep last night and really am enjoying being back in the percale sheets. I got up and read this morning while I drank my coffee and then made the requested blueberry oatmeal for breakfast. Since DH shops for f/v on Sundays usually it really does work well for us to just dump the last of the week's blueberries in the weekend oatmeal.
I have been on the computer today checking a couple of things. DH gave me a gift card to Kohl's for my birthday and I have been deciding when to use it. I am in the process of cleaning out my closet and getting rid of some older tops. It seems I have plenty of new(er) spring tops (& capris), so I may just save my gift card for summer clothes. I don't think I've bought any new summer things forever. Maybe over Spring Break (the first week of April) I'll take myself shopping. I want to go when (like now) there is no % off offer anyway that I have to feel like I "wasted".
I am meeting my VBF for lunch about noon, so plan to have everything done around here before I go. I am undecided what to have for supper, but will think of something while I'm getting ready. We have venison chili thawing out for tomorrow night's supper, as we will have our main meal at lunch (corned beef and cabbage supper). DH's VBF's restaurant serves the very best corned beef & veggies I've ever had, so I always look forward to it! We will also bring home enough for another meal as usual.
P.S. No rats for me either! Especially with better eyesight than I have <LOL> Cataract surgery, really??
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good Morning!
I got 9 hours of sleep last night, so I’m all caught up and ready to go. Daily WI show s me down .5 from Friday before last, so I am pumped!
I am headed into town shortly to work the annual car show. The group that puts it on sponsors a 50/50 raffle and our hospice gets to keep 1/2 of the sales. Volunteers and nurses will be out in force selling tickets. The money is used to finance supplies for indigent patients, since patients are accepted without regard to ability to pay. I am scheduled to work 10:00-3:00, so need to get moving. BBL

Sue and Pam yeah to a good night sleep. Nothing quite like that. Judy hope you followed in our footsteps! Very windy here today so my outdoor walking will be short and sweet. Sue enjoy your lunch today. I vote for getting the summer clothes also. So many people have good luck at Khol's...Unfortunately I am not one of them! Pam enjoy that car show. Carl being a car buff would LOVE to go. Yeah to being down .5 Nothing like a weight loss to get ya going in the right direction. Just had breakfast and going to track it and plan my day.

Hi all,
We are at the Cape now enjoying a quiet weekend. It was a busy end to the work week because we sponsored a faculty staff gathering so I worked late. Our bathroom is painted- ceiling and walls and progress is coming along. He’ll be back Monday.
It was a nice day here relatively speaking- lol- so DH and I and D&D took a walk to the beach and met new neighbors who are doing a huge whole house renovation. He’s going to suggest a roofer for us. We need a new roof here. Always something!!
We had a nice long FaceTime chat with the DGJs especially my dgd who “takes “ me to her room to show me things! I think most kids want an audience more than anything!
Sue DH and I both laughed SO hard at your description of a rat with better vision than we have!! Ha ha ha! Good for you for going through your clothes and weeding out your clothes you no longer wear. I might do some of that tomorrow as I pack up summer stuff for vacation. I have lots to donate.
Ann, maybe we have the same accountant! Ours is a popular guy. You never know! Seems like the world gets smaller and smaller with connections all the time. Just today here at the Cape the woman behind me in line happened to be a retired teacher at my kids school! We’re a 100 miles from home. 😀
Pam, you are so good and patient with your hospice work. How’d did you get involved with hospice in the beginning? I’m glad your sister and DH are starting to “thaw” in their relationship. It’s so hard when you are helpless to do anything but hope.
I made tacos again tonight- turkey tacos with retried beans. They were great. I have corned beef and cabbage for St Patrick ‘s Day but will make it in the crockpot Monday. ☘️
Sue, good for your DH for advocating for himself. Hope all goes well after he talks to his own cardiologist.

Hi Ann and AWF,
Happy St. Paddy’s Day! 🧙♀️🐍☘️🍀☘️💚
Well, it’s cold again! I have a quiche in the oven - crustless so very few pts.
ill check in later. Ann, our accountants are the Holloways. Great people! Your dinner sounded great. Sorry Bonnie was not up to it. Funny to me when you described her at 80 lbs. I had picture her more “stately” because I had a cherished friend named Bonnie who was larger. She passed away a few years back. She was a mother figure to me when we were newlyweds in AZ.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy St. Patrick's Day!! We slept in a bit this morning, then DH fixed a breakfast of half orange and half banana each, and Seeduction bread from Whole Foods (2 for him; 1 for me). It is really delicious!!
We are also going out for corned beef & cabbage dinner at DH's VBF's restaurant (where they make the best I've ever had) and we'll bring half of it home for another night. My weight is hanging steady, but I'd like to be dropping a few pounds. We'll see ...... WW WI is Wednesday.
Yesterday VBF and I had a great time at Panera Bread where she had the Turkey Chili and I had Asian Sesame Chicken Salad. We had both looked up the SP ahead of time and already tracked. I made a tuna/macaroni casserole for supper and left it all prepared and in two individual casserole dishes which I just popped in the microwave after I got home. It really hit the spot! Plus I didn't have to come home from an afternoon of good conversation & fun and start dinner.
We have sunshine today, but it is COLD (like in the 20's) but that is supposed to improve.
BBL. Make a great day!!

I was hoping that we had the same 'tax man' LOL.......Funny how when you have a friend by the same name you automatically picture them as being the same. A gal I used to go to weight watchers with had a friend Bonnie who was very big and in a wheelchair.....Bonnie is I 'think' 4'7" at best...I tower over her at 5'3" and her dear husband Dave was 6'!
Sue so happy you had a great time and meal at Panera Bread. Enjoy your corned beef and cabbage dinner out.
It's cold here as well. We took our southern belle miss LuLa out for what we thought would be a 'hood walk' but she had better ideas. She 'did her thing' and pulled us back home LOL......Should it warm up later, we'll try it again.
I was having desktop computer issues that seem to be gone for now. Hopefully it was just the wind that was causing it. Dunno.
Pam hope you enjoy your day just in case I don't get back online.

Happy Sunday!
I was just too tired to post last evening. The car show raffle went well and we sold $3770 in tickets, so hospice got $1885, which is currently locked in my car, along with the signs, chairs and other paraphernalia, which I will drop off at the office tomorrow. I was on my feet most of the day, but enjoyed being outside and visiting with folks. When I got home, I worked on the bedroom, getting the bed made and starting to sort through things to give away and things to keep. Thus far, only DH's wound care supplies and an antique typewriter have made the cut and gone into the closet.
Today, we went to Mass at 10:00 and then to the St.Joseph Altar where we enjoyed spaghetti with boiled egg instead of meat and various vegetable side dishes. I had salad and left the rest, though I did enjoy a piece of Morganza cake. I don't know if that is traditional Italian, but it is certainly traditional Morganza. There was a large crowd of several hundred. The San Guiseppe Ladies that put on the St.Joseph Altar boiled 48 dozen eggs! Any food left over is donated to the St. Vincent de Paul kitchen in Baton Rouge.
We came home and I started dinner in the crock pot. We are having Beef Stroganoff from my "adoptive" MIL's recipe, with a salad on the side. I'm not crazy about it, but it is a favorite of DH's, so I make it for him from time to time. I will take a portion out for me before adding the mushrooms and sour cream.
I had a short time to rest, then went back to church to teach a baptism class at 2:00. Since all the attendees were Spanish-speaking, I did no teaching, per se, only put on the video for them and answered questions about scheduling afterwards, so it went fast. Now I am headed back to church for a 4:00PM bible study.
No time for personals, but I did read all your posts!
