I am willing to be WILLING and AWARE! And relearn to drink my water.
Just finished watching In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan on Netflix. I like him. He always makes me think.
Also watched Ben is Back with Julia Roberts, Courtney B. Vance and Lucas Hedges, who played Ben. It was hard to watch in places, as I have a DGS who did the heroin route. Mr. Hedges, I thought, was marvelous. The supporting cast was also very good.
Hope you all have a great OP day tomorrow!
May we never quit picking up tidbits that help us on this journey --- and sharing them!

bee i have read all of Pollan's books except the newest one on marijuana He is a good writer. I even heard him speak at our Town Hall a few years ago and my husband came with me. My husband's partner's son died of a heroin OD in Europe as a young man. He was a UCLA graduate and from the outside, you would think everything was fine. Another neighbor's son was also addicted but actually against the odds kicked his habit. Ann, I will join you and Bee to be willing and aware. Susi, are you going to Las Vegas tomorrow? Get your rest. Happy Monday! I am taking my china to the Assistance League thrift store and doing a few errands but the weather should be nice and I will take Lily Belle on a good walk. I like to go through the country club because it is closed to golfers Monday. I'm also making my monthly phone calls for the women's club luncheon. I volunteer in Leo's class Monday and in a stapled bag I am bringing a tiara, scepter and pinwheel I got at the party on Saturday. It will be for the little girl who was new to the school last week. She is so intimidated by the higher learning. Dinner will be the Skinnytaste version of caldo verde with kale, TJ smoked chicken andouille sausage, one russet and two Yukon gold potatoes and chicken broth plus seasoning.

I had another OP day and the scale rewarded me this morning. I know that the scale won't be down EVERY day but it is nice when it acknowledges an OP day with a loss...and it is nice to have losses before Wednesday.
I am willing to:
* Walk my laps - goal is 8 today * Track every BLT * Buy produce and other basics to make this an OP week * Work on a plan for Wednesday * Think positive and be positive

Good morning...
Bee j Thx for getting us started. Truly, being opened to new ideas and perspectives helps us in this journey. Sadly, my extended family has also felt the suffering and pain of herion addiction. It breaks my heart to see my DH's nephew rearing two sons in such a dysfunctional relationship and home. Ha ha ha. . Why is it that we do not have to remind ourselves to drink coffee or tea?
Ann Sending you good KOKO vibes as your day gets underway.
Susi Hope that you slept well and awoke refreshed.
Audrey Enjoy your time at Leo's preschool. Hope you have a nice walk w/ LB.
Cathy Yay! It does feel great when the scale confirms that you have had an OP day. True-- a weekly social event or workplace lunch room w/ constant surprise goodies are challenging. It helps me to visualize what I am willing to try, to know that it might be a trial & error process, and then visualize myself doing that.

DivaTaxi's done its morning run. MHMR appears to be back on its normal schedule. I have a training session at LA-Fitness with the Training Director (AKA Tigger); they currently do not have anyone with whom I can work on Mondays, so this is a "freebie" because I reminded her that THAT was what I wanted when I signed up - Mon&Fri 9:30-ish - and the Mondays have been sketchy ever since. Friday will be with "Sean", whom I have not met. <meh>. I texted my first trainer, Eli, with this sorry tale - and he's going to reach out to Sean so I'm not just a random person who appeared on his schedule. <meh><meh>.
We'll be taking MousekeTWO to the doctor for a recheck after preschool. His fever is gone and he did better over the weekend so this is to be sure his lungs are still clear.
And of course, there's cooking chicken, picking up the Mouseketeer at 3:30, picking up the Kressling, feeding them all, and getting the Kressling to soccer practice from 6 to 8 PM.
Coffee... need coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ...
π±πΏβοΈπΏπ±πΏβοΈπΏπ±πΏβοΈπΏπ± Have a healthy-eating day, all! π±πΏβοΈπΏπ±πΏβοΈπΏπ±πΏβοΈπΏπ±

Monday's goals Spending the next 1/2 hr or so taking care of myself before the potential craziness begins. My DH is irritated that I do not know if I am substituting this morning or any other this week. I tried to explain to him that I knew this was the potential situation when I agreed. I have a strategy. It will work as well as it works. Have a great everyone!

Mj Hope that the Dr. finds that Mouse2 has no signs of lung congestion. What do you think is the reason for LA Fitness to accommodate your request? I ask, b/c 9:30 am does not seem like a particularly unusual or early slot.

I ask, b/c 9:30 am does not seem like a particularly unusual or early slot. Apparently they have two different levels of training and the level to which I aspire does not have a lot of Monday morning trainers. Those tend to mid-week mid-afternoon or Saturdays/Sundays in the morning. But I was VERY clear in the initial discussion and was assured that I would be accommodated. <hahahaha>. To refresh: Trainer #1 (12/8/18-3/8/19) transferred to another location, 12 miles in the other direction; my location is near MousekeTWO's preschool so fits into my Mon&Fri MousekeSitting schedule. Trainer #2 (3/11-3/15) "left"/quit due to her school schedule . Trainer #3 I have not yet met. Tigger is the Training Director (Marija) who is just that - ultra-bouncy and high-excitability. I am Pooh with a dash of Eeyore - I will work really hard, but I do NOT bounce.

Forgot to tell y'all, that DGS has been clean for almost 3 years. Am really proud of him.
Ann, come along. We'll do it together.
Susi, hope the sleep was good. Have a good trip!
Audrey, I don't think I have ever read a book of his. If I did, I forgot. BUT he had Robert Lustig appear in it. I love Lustig and his talks against sugar. He is a pediatric endocrinologist. I found it very interesting. Had to look up that soup, sounds delicious. Hope the little girl enjoys her gifts.
In the video, he claims the Seventh Day Adventist are some of the healthiest folks, he's found in America. A lady in her 90's, walking inside her assisted living halls, learned that 6 rounds equal 1 mile, so she does 24 rounds every morning. She was picking them up and laying them down. Looked like she was in her 70's.
Cathy, sounds like a very good plan.
June, my pleasure to start it. It's the first time I got here before someone else started it in a long time. LOL I hope the potential craziness takes the day off. LOL
MJ, hope DGS is problem free. Also hope all goes well at the exercise place for you.
