This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it

Good morning and Happy April Fools Day ;-)
cj59, I hope to make April a better month too! You have done much with getting rid of stuff. Good for you. I need to refocus on that.
Waving to all.
There were some light snow showers this morning. Sun is out now. I will get out for walks today.

Hello Everyone - Welcome to the new month - hope it's a good one for all of us sunrose - thanks for starting our new thread. Snow in April! Hope you get a nice walk in today now that it's sunny. I'm setting some goals for myself in April - getting in my healthy foods each day, drinking my water, and getting in a dedicated walk. I already did a 45 minute walk this morning, so that's one done for today. I'm also doing a quick Beck Diet Solution review. I remember after the first one I did I thought I was done, but then I've seen how many people have done them again and again and I've realized you have to keep practicing to reinforce the behavior. So I'll keep trying until it hopefully becomes second nature to me. Does anyone else have any goals for this month? Have a great day!

Good morning. Still fighting whatever this is. There was a funny video on facebook where a forklift ran into a tree and a ton of yellow pollen rained down on him - that's pretty much how it is here right now. I have a dark red car and it looks orange from all the pollen on it. Son went to the new place and put his application in and they liked him (he said). He did tell them he'd need to give 2 weeks notice to his current job and they appreciated that because they'd expect the same. Anyway, they are opening another center in the next town over (15 minute drive so no biggie)over the Summer and told him they'd be in touch closer to that opening and see if he was still interested. So basically he's "in" if he still wants it by then. I told him to keep looking locally because he obviously has something that appeals to the daycare/school age kids people.

Hello! sunrose49, Love the goals! Good luck! DotRen, Sorry to hear you're under the weather, but glad that your son is getting positive results in his job search! cj59, Great question about the goals! You have an awesome list there. And I think the quick Beck review is a solid plan to get in the mindset and achieve those goals. Dieting is going well, scale is not going quite as well, but here are my goals for the month. - Drink three bottles of water a day - Fruit/vegetable with every meal and snack - Burn 2,500 calories a day per my Fitbit I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the month!

Hello Everyone DotRen - I'm glad to hear that news about your son's job opportunities, I hope it works out for him. Hope you are feeling better today. sunrose - Those are some good goals, I know you can meet them. Hope you have a wonderful and safe trip. irisinnia - You have some great goals too and I know you'll accomplish them. Thanks for mentioning your FitBit goal. I mostly use my FitBit just to see my steps, I should think about setting a calorie burning goal too. I got my 45 minute walk in this morning, but my eating has been off. I went out today for some shopping and since I don't get out of the house that much, when I do I always want to treat myself to fast food. I know there are good food choices to pick, but I seem to pick the bad ones Hope everyone else checking in is doing well on their plans

Have fun! sunrose49Hanging in. I found that TheraFlu before bed is letting me sleep without coughing all night. The severe formula powder that you make with hot water. The pills did nothing for me. cj59, I'm hopeful for him. He's not using his degree, but he seems to enjoy working with kids, and he's thinking about getting his teacher certification through the local jr college, so at least he's thinking ahead. irisinnia, good deal on staying on track

sunrose49, We'll miss you! Have fun! DotRen, Oh, the coughing at night is the worst! I'm glad you've found something that helps! cj59, Awesome job on the walk! I definitely understand the wanting to go out to eat when you leave the house. I do the same thing with any kind of celebration, "I know what we should do! Get some food!!" It's hard to unlearn. Here's what I want to know. Why isn't my weight just falling off? I want it all to come off now! lol Okay, so yesterday: 1.5/3 bottles of water fruit/veg = non-existant, unless you count veggies on pizza 2,466/2,500 calories Definitely room for improvement, but progress is being made! I think I might do better on the whole fruit/vegetable thing if I had some in the house... Have a great day everyone! See you tomorrow!

Oh geesh lol. Remember I posted about how they were tearing the house across the street down and re-going it from the studs out? Well they finished. It's painted a greenish yellow color that is usually only seen in a baby diaper... and because that wasn't bad enough, they did the trim in olive drab. No kidding.

Hi everyone! cj59 I happened to come on here after several months and saw your message! Freaky coincidence! Thank you for thinking of me. I think about you guys often too! I'm doing well. I've not been doing anything to lose weight. I try to get to the gym when I can but could be doing better. I've not lost anything. I'm starting to think about trying again but I'm hesitant. I don't want to be this big and I don't feel well but I don't seem to be able to make good decisions unless I'm following a program. But I have very mixed feelings about doing that. When I switched jobs, I kind of thought that once I settled in, I would be ready to be healthier and the weight would start coming off. That hasn't happened. I'm settled in the new job and overall, I am way happier than I was in most aspects of my life. It was a good change for me. But I think it's time to start focusing on other areas now that I have my career sorted out. Right now my biggest issue is nighttime eating. I have a bad habit of unwinding at night with food. That is something I want to work on. I hope you all are well.

Hello Everyone
wwlurker - I'm so glad you saw my post and posted. We must have been thinking of each other I'm happy to hear that the new job is going well and that you are happier too.
I totally get where you are at right now, I'm kind of there too. I need a plan to follow because I'm not able to eat healthy without being directed. I just don't make those food choices, I eat junk instead.
I sure hope we can figure it out and get back on track with eating right and losing the weight. Hopefully the fact that we are still thinking about what to do and would work for us means that we won't give up.
DotRen - Hope you are feeling better soon, I know it wears you out when you are sick for awhile.
irisinnia - You do sound like you are doing good and working hard. I hope you get to see some weight loss soon, it's so frustrating that it takes so long and we have to work so hard. Hang in there.
I'm feeling kind of defeated lately. I'm just not motivated to eat right and don't have the energy to think about an eating plan. I don't want to totally give up or give in, so I keep coming to the message boards and trying. I hope that something will click again for me soon because I'm really feeling the effects of gaining some of the weight back with pain in my knees and legs. You would think that would motivate me, but all I think about it eating something
Hope everyone else checking in is doing well on their plans.
