cj59 , it's a hard time of year. Biologically, we're still deeply programmed to hold onto body fat during the winter. I do think our bodies retain a lot of that genetic tendency. Have you ever tried arnica gel for your knees and legs? My husband has old football player knees lol - he usually used ben gay, icy hot, etc. I read about arnica and got him to try it and he says it works really well and doesn't smell like "old man". This is the stuff I got: arnica gel on amazon . There are different brands and concentrations, also gels or creams for topical. Anyway, if you haven't ever tried it, might be worth a trial wwlurker, night time eating is a tough habit. I try to do intermittent fasting (eat an early dinner around 5 then just coffee in the morning, then lunch around 11 or 12 the next day). It helps with the night time snack attacks but I still keep my mind busy with TV or reading. I find technical programs like "how it's made" or the engineering stuff on the history channel, forged in fire, etc do the best job keeping my mind off food. Of course I'm a geek lol -so whatever shows keep your interest Waving to sunrose49 and irisinnia

Just checking in to say that I hope everyone is doing well and that you all have a great weekend I've been working to make sure to eat some healthy foods and am glad I've been doing that. I always put those aside when I get off track. I've also been getting in my steps and exercise.

I've been making lentil stew and eating healthy since April 2. Sounds good! My grandfather used to make lentil soup about 2x a month growing up. It's funny how you get tired of foods when you have them a lot, then you miss them when you don't. *adding lentils to my grocery list* DotRen, cj59, amyrs, irisinnia, hi! Still sick-ish, and another weather front moving through today. Hopefully we'll get enough rain to tame the tree pollens a bit.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are enjoying your weekend
amrys - good for you on the healthy eating! Hope you enjoy your stew.
irisinnia - Hope you're doing well on your plan
DotRen - I hope you will be completely well soon, I'm sure it's tiring you out not feeling well for so long.
I sure wish I liked lentils and many of the other zero point foods on WW right now, but I don't. I'm still toying with the idea of going back to meetings those. I think trying to eat on the new plan might help with my sugar addiction.
I am getting in my exercise everyday, so I'm happy about that.
Hope anyone else checking in is doing well on their plans.

DH and I watched a couple of movies this weekend.
The Nun (prequel to The Conjuring) -not bad. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was entertaining. I did not find it nearly as suspenseful /scary as the Conjuring, or even Annabell, but it was still a good watch. A couple of "jump" moments lol.
The Dark Tower. Hmm. Ok the S King series was 8 or 9 books I think -I read it a long time ago. Like most King books, they don't transfer well to movies because a lot of the book dialogue and thoughts are internal. It was watchable. Idris Elba and the young actor Tom Taylor were an interestingly compatible pair- they had good chemistry (though it felt like Elba was holding back, he was a lot more "flat" than usual). Matthew McConaughey Was good but also seemed flat in the role. The Man in Black (not Johnny Cash haha) was very menacing in the books. I guess trying to fit a whole series of books into 1 movie has it's "squish" points where they have to leave out a lot, and character development/backstory was missing. I liked it for what it was, but as far as a compilation of the book series -not a good one.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today
DotRen - I'm glad you are enjoying some good movies. Sounds like you enjoyed several of them
I'm hoping to focus on my eating and the Beck practices this week. I've also worked on getting in my dedicated exercise each day. I'm still hoping for something to "click" and I'll get fully back on track, but in the meantime I'll take the good things I am doing
Hope everyone else is doing well on your plans.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well and having success on your plans sunrose - Hope you had a wonderful trip, glad you are back safely. I'm doing fair. Getting in my exercise and steps and making sure to eat healthy foods along with the unhealthy ones I'm also still thinking about rejoining WW. If I do, I'd want to pay weekly until I feel like I can commit to it. I know the current program would really help me to avoid the sugary, higher fat foods I eat too much of and get me to focus on more fruits and vegetables. I'm baking some carrots today. I like to use the McCormick Pot Roast seasoning bag to make them. I don't add the meat or potatoes, just the carrots. I'll get a few meals out of them. Take care everyone!

Just a quick hello I need to clean out the fridge and clean today *blech* lol There's a trifecta of Saturday activities here this week: the bigger farmers market a short distance from a food truck festival that's sharing space with a doughnut fun run -at the same time and place lol. Hoping the stormy weather holds off until we can go to the market and food truck thing (honestly DH wants to go to the food truck one, I couldn't care less lol)

Hello Everyone sunrose - Glad to hear you had a good time on your trip. DotRen - Saturday sounds like it will be busy, but hopefully successful in finding some good food. I know a lot of people are really into the food trucks. I'm not really one of them either. I did get a walk in this morning, otherwise my day is way off track I'm giving serious thought to rejoining WW in May, so we'll see what happens. Hope everyone else checking in is doing well.

Good morning
dotren good luck Saturday. Sounds like there will be a lot of people around. I don't care for food trucks myself.
cj59, good for you getting a walk in. That would be nice if you join again. Even for a month.
Waving to all. I keep saying I need to work in the yard, but haven't done it. It is going to rain later today so I should at least cut the grass.

Hello Everyone sunrose - Hope you can get to your yard work soon. I love to look at a pretty yard as long as I didn't have to do the work in it I ate a vegetable, fruit and dairy today, but didn't get my walk in. I'll make sure to get at least 10,000 steps done by the end of the day though, that's my absolute minimum I set for myself. As long as I can keep up some of my good habits I'm happy, because I know how easy it would be for me to give them all up. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans and that you have a great weekend!
