I'd like nothing more than to see this monster impeached. Actually, there are a few other things I wouldn't mind happening to him but I digress. lol.
I'd rather see the Dems spend their time focusing on the needs of the country instead of giving the monster in the WH more air time. The monster loves this stuff. Remember he loves the camera, the attention and the distraction. He's such a sicko he'd enjoy every minute. Besides, this would be red meat to his rabid base and a waste of time and money for the country.
He's not worth it. We deserve better. Give him nothing!

Agreed! I think he is probably hoping for impeachment because he knows the Senate won't convict, and it will just end up helping him. Does he deserve conviction on impeachment? Absolutely! But with a Republican Senate, what's the point? I just want him out of office, and I am afraid impeachment would just guarantee him another win.
I really don't understand how Republicans justify any of this to themselves. Evidently they just really don't care anything at all about the country. I have lost all respect for Republicans both in and out of Washington, which includes a lot of people I know.

how Republicans justify any of this to themselves. It's naked self-interest covered up (they think) with Patriotism and Christianity.

Covered up for sure. They're neither patriots or christians. They're puffed up control freaks hiding behind the Cross and the Flag.
They don't want a Theocracy because of religious beliefs. They want it for power and control over The People. Especially women.
Look at other countries where religion rules. Would you want to live there? Would you want your children or their children, especially girls, to survive there? Joyce, I saw Spock and heard his voice too when I posted that. It is a wonderful greeting and a nice way to say good bye. It beats, "Hey!" Lol.

Joyce I know you are right, you all are but, I keep thinking without any consequences, who the hell are we as a people? What kind of country? At the very least, shouldn't we want Mueller himself to testify in public to set the record straight? In lieu of AG Barr's ham-fisted characterization of the Special Council's findings, I would think he'd want to. He could wrest back the narrative from that political hack. This can certainly be done without initiating the articles of impeachment.
The President did some terrible things and got away with it. He should not be rewarded for those offenses with re-election in 2020.

I agree with you, Pam, that he should not just get away with all he's done with no consequences. I'd love to have Mueller testify. I am hopeful that SDNY will come after him, Jr, Ivanka, Jared, and Eric. He's got to get out of office first though, and while I don't think it should be I have to admit that my focus is on getting him out of office. I hate the fact that I am focused on that fact more than anything else, but if we don't get him out of office I don't think there is going to be anything left of the country to save. So the idea of impeachment scares me even though I think it is surely deserved. If Congress does decide to impeach, I will certainly support it. I just hope those much wiser than I will carefully consider before choosing one way or the other. What a mess it all is!

Russia got the US president they wanted. They convinced foolish Americans to do the same by turning their back on a brilliant politican and going for a spoiled, nasty, unqualified reality tv host instead.
Garbage in - garbage out. It stinks, doesn't it? We showed her!

I've always wanted what I believed to be best for the country when I chose who I would vote for. I know anyone other than Trump is best for the country. So I'm no longer even considering which potential candidate's policies I like best. I'm only focused on who has the best chance to beat Trump, because absolutely nothing could be worse than him. As Pat has said, he is pure evil.

Pam, what a precious avatar! Is that a new family member?
The JA says nobody disobeys his orders. Ha! From the Mueller report testimony he better be grateful that they do. They seem to have saved him from himself. The big boss "you're fired!" guy apparently just blunders around like a buffoon while those around him try to keep him from hurting himself. Why they even try to protect him is beyond me, but then why anyone would lower themselves to work for this administration is beyond me too. Normally I'd think that having worked at the White House on your resume would be like a magic key to open future doors. Now, it seems more like it would be a barrier to ever moving ahead with any reputable organization. I certainly wouldn't trust anyone who willingly worked for him.
How can the White House get away with instructing an employee not to comply with a subpoena to testify? That in and of itself sounds like blatant obstruction of justice to me. An employee is being instructed to break the law, but then he regularly has been telling border guards and others to break the law so what's new? What course of action does Congress have if someone refuses to honor a subpoena?

My niece and Goddaughter became a first-time mom in early February. If someones refuses to be compelled by a subpoena to testify or provide documents, I believe the next step could be to hold that individual in Contempt of Congress which no doubt, is a whole other time consuming process.

It's another day on the political hamster wheel just running and running and yet seemingly getting nowhere. If anything, "he" just seems to be getting less and less of a grip on reality and sinking further into his own delusions. And the almighty Jared tells us that the Russian interference into the election amounted to "a couple of Facebook ads."

After all the speculation, it seems almost anticlimactic, but Joe is officially in the race. Did you see the video? I thought it was very good. So we'll see how it goes. Last night I was listening to some commentators on CNN. The consensus with that group seemed to be that Biden has a very good chance of beating Trump IF (and that seemed to be a pretty big "if") he can get the nomination. They seemed to think it will be much harder for him to get selected as the Democratic nominee than it would be to beat Trump in a general election. Primarily they were expressing a lot of the doubts that we've mentioned on this thread. So we'll see how it goes. I like Biden. Do I like him the best of all the candidates? I don't know yet. Right now if I had to pick two favorites, I'd probably pick Biden and Mayor Pete which is kind of at the extremes on the age. LOL! But, I like others too. I like Amy Klobuchar, I like Elizabeth Warren, I'm on the fence about Kamala Harris, etc. We have a wealth of talent, but the problem with having so many contenders may be that the vote is being pulled in too many directions. And, most likely it's not going to be long before we start seeing attacks against against each other in order to make themselves stand out in the field. That's not good, because any attack against another Democratic contender is going to help Trump. We've got a long way to go until November 2020. I just hope it doesn't get too nasty in the primary, and that ultimately they will keep their eyes on the goal that we've got to defeat Trump.
