So, no more snakes in the house or seen outside BUT a year ago on the same day we killed a snake inside...strange. We did not go out and about yesterday BECAUSE my husband called to say he had found his lost cat. I dressed hurriedly and went to join him with the cat carrier and cat food. Not sure the cat was ours but still brought it home and found that it was NOT our cat though similar. Ours was male and this is female. Ah well...now to find out if this was a stray or belongs to someone. I would hate to steal someone's cat BUT this cat had been hanging out at the nearby bakery for a week so am fairly sure she was abandoned, lost or something? She was here this morning so happy enough not to want to leave. We did not get light bulbs or groceries or anything else. I didn't even go out to walk. Today the plan is to walk. We will Skype with family in the evening. CHERRY: I like tomato soup from scratch...finally found a recipe I like that uses a clove in it I hope your day in town was educational and fun! Your comment about hypertofu made me smile BEVERLY: My daughter said that mumps on campus was a problem before Christmas break...amazing that mumps is an epidemic after all of the vaccinations that were given. Guess boosters were not given or something. Hope your grandson overcomes whatever he has and it does not get worse. PAM: Do you have set meals you use as go-to meals or do you try new things often? I have thought that having a mix and match schedule with points known for meals might be a good idea. Points or all SFT/Core ideas. LYNN: Where are you putting the new microwave rack? I used to have mine on the top of the frig and put it up there by myself when hubby was away one time - don't think I would do that again! It is on the counter now

Morning all!
Cathy, I have never made tomato soup from scratch, though I have thought about trying it in the summer when we have fresh tomatoes. It must be delicious. Weather is beautiful here today. Sunshine & 70 deg. I am planning on doing some laundry, I also have some steaks & chicken sausage laid out, I am planning on firing up the grill this afternoon. I think I will also put some cabbage on the grill. yum! No other plans for the weekend, the kids are all busy with their own things, GS is feeling better. He gets very upset anytime that he gets the least bit sick, right now, he has a broken hand & a cast on. He has 3 more weeks to wear the cast. Great weekend everyone!

Good morning. The workshop on hypertufa yesterday was fun and interesting. We made a pot using a couple of plastic containers for a mold. We mixed up the hypertufa and packed about an inch in the bottom of the larger container, then put the smaller container in the middle and packed in hypertufa around the sides (between the inner and outer containers) to make a pot with sides about an inch thick. Today I can remove the inner container to let the whole thing dry more, then tomorrow remove the outer container so the pot can dry. The other thing we did was take a wet washcloth, wrung out, dipped it thoroughly in a wetter version of the hypertufa, like a slurry, then drape the washcloth over an upside down pot. When it dries it will be a fluted pot. These can be painted, or they can have dye mixed in with the hypertufa for some color. As it is, they look kind of like cement.
Not doing much today. I think I'll wash some clothes, and maybe do some reading. It's cloudy today with a little fog that prevents me from seeing the hills across the lake. It's supposed to get up to about 45 today. It is 34 right now. The snow is still disappearing.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Hi all! There are two pieces of the rack that are cracked and I have to email the company. We put it together and now will have to replace them when they arrive. Oh well....
it is in the 60's today, very odd for February.
Have a great day!
