WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C77D14, 9 water, 36 points, ghgs but only 1 dairy and no oil, 1605 calories, 7618 fitbit steps, K11/12, G13 Y2 R4 February.
Today was the least LP in a while but not a binge. The reason is simple. I didn’t plan the day in advance. Also got picky after K-closed. On the other hand, every morsel was tracked and counted. I haven’t been feeling great – can’t seem to shake this annoying post nasal drip – on top of that, I came out with itchy hives all over my body today. So bad that I went to the doctor. He said it was definitely an allergic reaction to the antibiotic I was on, a common side effect to that one which I had never taken before. At first I thought it might be shingles so am satisfied that it’s just hives. He said it could last about a week and may get worse before it gets better.
Edesia – F&V sound like perfect snacks before and after dinner. So how was driving the truck?
Jan – So how did the anniversary wind up? Are the kids even aware when you’re not talking? Do they take sides? So many times my DH would suddenly say “so are you going to keep this up?” in a gruff tone, and that would start it all over. Whoever said life is easy?? <g>
Kathy – I gained a few pounds (5-ish) during my last bingy period and they just aren’t going away. Those weights in my signature were official WW W-I weights and I just can’t see parting with $14 every single month for what seems to be an eternity. I don’t think I can raise my goal officially since at my age you lose height. I don’t think I’m any more careless without the discipline of weighing in. In fact I’m even more careful now that I’m counting calories as well as points. Thanks for not resenting my suggestion. I hope the paper tracking works out for you.

Cals-24/26 K-26/26
It was a quiet anniversary. We're still not speaking. The kids typically don't take sides; they just want peace at home. I did say something about it to the oldest, but not sure if the other two are aware.
Nancy, hives??! Is there anything you can do other than take Benadryl? I have a feeling that once the weather breaks and you're able to consistently get outside, your weight will start to drop. We don't realize how much less activity we get in the winter months.
Kathy, I find the whole blue dot thing fascinating. I'm thrilled that WW is acknowledging that not all calories are considered equal. I remember the days when for one point you could have an apple or a 100 calorie pack of Oreos.

Hi Girlfriends! KC8pm Treadmill Thank goodness for a new week! Last week was a total flop! (all late night eating)Gained 5lbs, but got rid of 1, now for the rest of the week! Nancy, know the nasal drip, DH and I had it all week and I still ate! So sorry to hear about the added stress of hives. There's been 3 types of flu going around here plus a lot of allergy problems. We already have trees with buds on them. The weather here is as usual, 50's couple days, and then 70's. Got to nip this in the bud quick because I want to be at a smaller weight when HS graduation gets here in May. Talked with DDIL this last week and they will be down too. Jan, so sorry to hear what you've been going through. Wow, I can remember DH & I going through periods like that in our younger years. Hang in there, girlfriend! I'm in a better mental state than last week, feeling stronger. Think it was the weather and thinking about DGS leaving in May. He came out and visited one evening. DH bought 2 air pureifers, one for the family room and one for our bedroom and think they are really helping. DS has one in their living room, and both bedrooms for him and DGS for quite a while now and they have really helped. Hello to everyone else! Off to treadmill! Love ya'll, Cindy

Morning, BFF's! Day off! Yay! One of the best things about having an extra day off is not having to squish everything I have to do into two days. I forced myself to go to the gym, yesterday. Even after I got dressed and ready to go I was considering doing something else. I think I've just been feeling kind of blech and that makes me not want to do anything...which makes me feel even more blech. I was happy I went and felt better afterwards, physically and mentally. I'll go back today. For dinner, I made a batch of sauce and meatballs (for me) and vegetarian "meatballs" for DH. The vegetarian ones were good and were only meatball-like in shape. They reminded me of falafel, but did not contain any chickpeas. I had my meal over shirataki noodles. DH had regular pasta and I ended up eating several forkfuls of that, too, just because it was there. I was, however, determined to stick to having only fruit after dinner and was able to do that. That will continue to be my focus during the week. One, simple and targeted "rule" seems doable, even for me. TTYL
Nancy - Mixing in some higher point days might be just what you need and may actually help with your weight loss over time. The fact that it was yellow, and NOT red, is an NSV, don't you think? Glad you went to the doc and it was hives and not shingles. I once had a reaction to an antibiotic, too. Now you will have to write it as something you are allergic to on the forms they give you to fill out at medical offices. The drive in the truck was fun. Nothing hard about it and it rides very smoothly. I did keep checking the right mirror to get a sense of the width, because it's bigger than my car. At least I know I can take it out if I need to, e.g. if my car is at the mechanic's for something.
Cindy - I can definitely relate to the stress eating. Now it's time for healthier choices for us both, eh? That's my Oklahoman accent. ; )
Jan - Ugh. Thinking of you and hoping for a resolution.
Kathy - I hope you have an easy work day, at least.

C28. D10. OP. Tracking. Exercising. Work day, so I'm checking in from the exercise bike this morning. I didn't have time for a full 45 minutes and was going to chuck it, but said "hey - 30 is better than 0." So here I am. My kids all had sleep overs at friends, so I will be able to work from home today without feeling angst about being home, but not with my family. Travel later today and all day tomorrow. NSV! I can button one of my suit jacket for the first time in a over a year. The stretching and aerobic exercise is really helping me lose sizes, in addition to weight. EDESIA- Have a looming deadline, so anxious to get that done at 4pm on March 1. Lined up a massage for Friday March 3 :-) Per conversation a couple weeks ago, I used to do my stretching listening to the news (MPR/NPR), but am finding I can't stomach it anymore. So have started listening to Radio Heartland, which is a nice mix of folk music. So much more peaceful. Here: www.thecurrent.org/listen/heartland (((Jan))) sorry that the anniversary passed in silence. So hard. My mom used to joke that the first 30 years of marriage were pretty tough, but it got better after that. I'm at 22 and counting ;-) Cindy - a new day! Take good care of yourself with healthy food and exercise and enjoy that DGS for many years to come! That's a huge part of my motivation. I had my kids later in life (at 35, 37, and 39) so have to stay healthy to enjoy and support them and hopefully grandkids one day! Louise - miss you and hope you are doing well. Lori - how are you doing? Back on track after your nice getaway? Jackie, Beth (weeeee! hope you had a ball on the tube slide), and all who follow have a great, green day! Kathy

Good Morning BFFs, I'm working this morning so catching up from being out two days last week. Yesterday was a very snacky day for me but kept it yellow...I think the relief trigger had a lot to do with it (made it through being away + free time on my hands Sunday = too much snacking) Back on track this morning but I'm feeling like I'm going up and down a 5lb range which I would like to stop. Right now I'm on the high end so planning to keep everything Green.
Nancy, the hives can be so annoying - hope they are under control.... (((Jan))) sorry to hear about your quiet anniversary...I was glad to read about the car ride talk with DS..I miss the days of being in the car with DS and DD, best communication time!! Kathy, once the kids were in college - DH and I started our 2 night get-a-ways (we try to go every couple of months). It just nice to focus on us - kind of pushes a reset button...I'm so happy for you - you seem so motivated and focused!! Love the NSV!! Edesia, enjoy your day off... Cindy, Glad to see your post!! Beth, hope your enjoying your weekend!! Hi to Louise and Jackie,
Have a great day Ladies!! Lori
