Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well LindaMc - Welcome to the board and the thread. Congratulations on your weight loss so far, that is a success It's great to have a goal to work towards too, I've found that helps me. Good luck with your journey and please post in our thread - lots of great people and support here. I've been consumed with my phone problems at home so that's why I haven't posted for a few days. I think I've finally figured out what to do (change my landline to a cell phone and keep the same number). I'm narrowing down my phone choices today and then figuring out which store to go to. It's a long process for me to anything like this I have been working on getting in my steps and my fruits and vegetables. I'm hoping to get my head back on track soon. Hope everyone is having success on their plans too.

cj59, we had AT&T for decades for our land line, then we went with a bundle of internet and phones, our cells were AT&T but separate. Around 2013, we started having so much trouble with disconnects. It would happen hundreds of times a day. We had AT&T out probably a dozen times between 2013 and 2014. The replaced everything from our house to the "hub" and it still happened. Finally one of the techs was honest and said it was all just bandaids -the hub was old and failing but they only had a few lines on it so AT&T would not upgrade or replace it. We dropped them and went with our cable/internet/phone bundle with comcast and only have a very occasional problem now.

DotRen - that's pretty much what is happening to me. I have old copper wires and Verizon doesn't want to maintain them anymore. They want everyone to switch over to fiber optic wires. I have until June to do that or lose my landline. As it is my phone has been dead since last week after a heavy rain and I didn't even call Verizon about it because I know they won't help me. I don't really want to deal with the installation of fiber optic wires in my house because I've read a few horror stories about them cutting into your foundation and cutting holes in the walls inside your house. I live in an old house and there's no telling what cutting into the walls could stir up The good thing with the old copper landlines was that they worked in power outages. The new fiber optic ones have a battery pack that will last for awhile without power but then you'll lose that too. Sorry the type of phone I want just isn't going to exist anymore. I hate change, I'm pretty old-fashioned, so it's been a push for me to make these changes

Good morning LindaMc, welcome to our group. WTG on the loss so far. DotRen, have you been getting the bad storms that have been in Texas? cj59, I have been MIA too and didn't even realize it. I thought I only missed one day. Good luck with the phone. Met step goal yesterday. Need to get out and work in the yard before it rains. There are always weeds to pull

sunrose49, they're staying mostly North of us. Son works in Arcola, and they had heavy rains and hail Tuesday, just sprinkles yesterday. I worry about him driving home in the dark when the weather is like that though. The chance is higher on the coast through Saturday and we're expecting 2-5" over the next few days here. Not bad if it's not all-at-once.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well I've been enjoying some of the fresh fruits and vegetables that are starting to come out. That is one of the nice things about summer. I was a picky eater as a child, but now I'll try a lot more "new" foods and I've found many that I enjoy. A few years ago I tried rhubarb for the first time and I love it! It's in season right now so I stewed some rhubarb and then added strawberries in and it makes a sauce. I eat it sometimes with just an artificial sweetener, but I like it best mixed in with some vanilla greek yogurt - it's so good. I'm going to try to find more of it before it's gone and freeze it, like I've done a few times. Have you discovered any "new" fruits and vegetables that you had never tried but now like? Hope you are all doing well on your plans and that you have a great weekend!

Good morning! Hopefully no more rain until after noon. Planning on the farmers market in a little while, but not sure how many of the produce vendors will be there. Some of them were posting their flooded fields on facebook yesterday hope it's not too bad for them.

DotRen - Hope you made it to the farmer's market and found some good food. I can't imagine the stress of being a farmer and at the mercy of weather, but I sure do appreciate that they take it on. I'm finishing off my strawberry-rhubarb sauce and eating some of the green beans I cooked yesterday. They made me realize how good fruits and vegetables taste compared to processed junk foods. Hope everyone checking in is doing well on their plans and in their life. Happy Mother's Day tomorrow to those of you who celebrate

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms
DotRen, hope the rain has stopped. It rained the other day very hard. More rain today...ugh
cj59, my dad loved rhubarb. I think I tasted it once as a kid and didn't like it. I have not tried any new fruits. It is a great time for all the fresh f/v.
Waving to all
I've continued to work in the yard. Each year I try to plant something new in the yard. My son helped me a lot over the past couple of days. Rain on tap for today.

cj59, we didn't, it started pouring when we were getting ready to leave. The sauce sounds good! I cook strawberries down with some erythritol (swerve) and water and add chia seeds to thicken. Makes a quick refrigerator jam. I may see if I can get rhubarb and try it, too Happy Mothers day!

Hello Everyone sunrose - My mother loved rhubarb too, but I would never try it when she was still living - makes me sad that I missed eating many of the things she liked and enjoying them with her. DotRen - strawberries are so great to use, aren't they? Don't even need a sweetener with them. The fresh strawberries are in season here now so I need to get to the local farm and buy some. Have a great day!

Good morning
cj59, there are so many things I wish I could enjoy with my parents. I miss them so much. I love strawberries.
dotren, I never thought to cook the strawberries down. I'll have to try that.
Waving to all. I had such a wonderful Mother's Day. I think it is going to rain again today. I hope to plant a tree I bought.

sunrose49, The pectin they release naturally thicken them, too We had a nice mothers day, the "hole in the wall" restaurant was really good. I'm glad we got there early, by the time we left, they were packed. Hokey "Mexico" decor aside, the food is really good lol Hope everyone is off to a good week

Small victory! I actually got 4 cherry tomatoes off my new plants lol. And there are 4 other clusters growing! And 2 peppers on my jalapeno plant. It's so funny, with all the rain we've had, I will need to water the big tomato plant today because it was looking wilty late afternoon yesterday. I think I'll need to re-pot it, too. It's gotten a lot bigger than I expected.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today sunrose - I hope I can get out to get some fresh strawberries, they taste so much better than the ones in the grocery store. DotRen - I'm happy for your success with your cherry tomatoes, I'm sure you'll enjoy them. I looked for rhubarb when I was in the grocery store today, but didn't find any. I need to keep looking in May because it's a really short season for it. I want to freeze some to have later this year. I drove by the WW center that I'd go to if I started meetings. I'm seriously thinking about it and hope I can decide to go. I think I need the accountability and motivation again. And I would like to cut out a lot of the sugar I eat. So I guess I'll see Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.
