My hand is better today - still hurts if I overuse it, so I'm still cautious. Getting tired of the splint glove thing lol. I poke myself in the eye too often. Sort of on plan, son brought me home some soft licorice and I had a few pieces. I really love licorice, I know, I'm weird. cj59, there's an old saying: eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a peasant and dinner like a pauper. Apparently the last 200 years we've flipped that around to accommodate traditional schedules. Since Murray's skin is cleared up, I picked up a few jars of organic baby food that's just turkey and water, nothing else. I'm going to give him a little bit with his dinner for 4-5 days and see if he has any reaction to it. Hopefully he won't because turkey is a lot less $$ than duck breast lol. He's looking trim again, too. Whenever he's on antihistamines for a few days, he starts gaining weight. Not sure if it's water retention or if it's because they make him tired and he's not active.

DotRen - I'm glad to hear your hand is getting better, hope it's all healed up soon. I'm very clumsy, so I can only imagine the damage I'd do with a splint I'm glad to hear that Murray is doing better too. I had a co-worker years ago that loved licorice. There was a place in North Carolina on the Outer Banks that she loved to get it from and when I was going there on a vacation she gave me some money to get some for her. That was such a long time ago and a nice memory - thanks for mentioning your love of licorice - hope you enjoy yours. I agree that our eating is way out of whack in this country. I guess it's from a combination of a faster paced life, modern conveniences and processed and fast foods. It's really hard to break the cycle. I know I'm a lazy cook and look for the easiest thing to make, but of course that is normally not the healthiest thing. It's a beautiful day here, sunny with low humidity - a breeze and in the 80s (later). I'm enjoying having my windows open. Hope all of you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and that you get to do something you enjoy

Hello Everyone - Hope you are enjoying your day. sunrose - I'm not ready for summer, I hate the heat I don't have any plans for the weekend. Holidays are pretty much like regular days when you don't have any kids/grandkids. I'm used to it, but there are times when I would love to have a family get together on a holiday or go and do something special. Not complaining though because I have lots of other things to be thankful for. Hope everyone is doing well on their plans too. I'm still thinking about what I want to do with regards to my eating. I have a few thoughts, I just need to put them into action:)

Good morning - Thank you to all that have served our great Country.
cj59, hope you are having a good weekend.
Waving to all
Some of the pictures I have seen on FB of the families at the cemeteries of fallen heroes is sad. My heart goes out to them and the sacrifices they had made.

sunrose49, it makes me cry, too. We'll be visiting DH's mom and dads gravesites later. They were both military as well. Just a quick drive-by wave hello.

Hello Everyone sunrose - I watched a show about Arlington National Cemetery last night and that made me cry. I'm so thankful for those that gave their lives for our freedom. DotRen - I'm glad you'll be able to go to the cemetery to visit your DH's gravesites. My father was in the Navy in WWII and in my worklife I worked many years for a military organization, so I have great respect for those who serve. Hope everyone checking in is enjoying the weekend and doing well on their plans.

Dotren I too love licorice. My friend has bee n put on antihistamines to help her gain weight. When she told me that I stopped taking them. I had two surgeries on my right hand three weeks ago. Still healing and some swelling.
Hope everyone enjoyed Memorial day.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well in your lives and on your plans I've been eating a bit better and meeting some of my goals. I'm going to join the 100 day challenge over in the Simply Filling Section of our board that starts this week. I've come up with a few things I want to do over those 100 days that will hopefully get me back on track to good habits.
