Wonder why there are so many conservative talk radio shows, and it's really difficult to find a progressive one? Sponsors go where the audience is, and I would think there would be just as big an audience for progressives as there is for conservatives but evidently not. Some of those conservative talk shows are really far out there with conspiracy theories, etc. amyrs, glad you've found a progressive station where you get a good signal. As for the morning news, once again it never changes. I'm going to concentrate on the fact that the sun is shining brightly here in my little corner of the world. Got to find something to smile about, and sunshine can do it for me. Certainly can't find anything to smile about listening to the news. Linda, have you been able to work in your flower garden yet? We planted some more evergreen shrubs at our back fence, some reblooming azaleas, a couple of hydrangeas, and then things in pots such as vinca and impatiens. For Mother's Day DD and family gave me a pretty hanging basket of geraniums and a large pot with plants that are supposed to deter mosquitoes. With all the rain we've had, they may be really bad this year. Going to try to think about sunshine and flower blossoms and evict this JA from my mind.

We have had sunny warm weather this last week. I have been working in the yard, slowly & carefully. I have a hip that is screaming at me, so, it's been slow going. Of course, now that I have lots of petunias planted, the weather looks like it's going to dip into the 30's a couple nights next week ...every 5 minutes the weather forecast seems to change. It was suppose to be in 40's at night til end of May. I have really cut back on flowerbeds. Probably less than 1/2 of what I used to have. I was looking at those plants that deter mosquitos. I still may get one. We don't have a greenhouse in town, so, I either have to drive an hour or so to the nearest one or order plants. It seems every year, our growing season gets shorter. Joyce, I love impatiens. But I don't have the much shade anymore since our trees were cut down a couple years ago. Geraniums are one of my favorite flowers. Love them in an old clay pot sitting on the front steps.
I think as far as talk radio, you probably can find more progressive points of view in Podcasts rather than regular radio.
I think Jimmy Carter's post president legacy will outlive many past Presidents. He & his wife have really put themselves out there to make a difference to so many people in this world. He seems such a humble, loving soul.
JA is going to bring this country to its knees if someone doesn't intervene soon. Seems like the Republican enablers are fine with this.
22 Democratic candidates. OH, MY!

OH, MY! I really admire Jimmy Carter too. He is one president who has really continued to tirelessly make a difference for the better in people's lives. He and his wife have my deepest admiration. I have a friend on another thread who a couple of times has attended the Sunday School class he still teaches (I think once a month). She said in person he is just very friendly, kind, and humble. According to her, he genuinely makes you feel like he's happy to meet you. I would love the opportunity to meet him. I would cross the street and walk away if this JA was standing right in front of me. 22 candidates is ridiculous in my opinion. You know the vast majority of them are just trying to get attention. As big a mess as this country is in, I don't have a lot of patience with attention seekers. My tolerance of that disappeared when this JA rode down the escalator.

We had a Progressive radio station years ago. I would listen to Randi Rhodes on the way to work. She was too progressive and was asked to leave. Compared to the foul mouthed, obnoxious, hateful, fear mongers on Conservative stations, Rhodes was a girl scout. Lol.
The station was Air America. It broadcast from NYC. That's where I first heard a guy called Keith Olbermann and a gal named Rachael Maddow, plus a few others. I got a radio for the step up van I drove for the phone company so I could have Air America on all day.
We had it on at home too. lol. Every now and then we'd listen to music for a change.
You'll never guess where Randi Rhodes started broadcasting. Florida. I kid you not. Lol.

I'm sorry but this business of "making a deal" for Jr to testify just leaves me cold. What the heck! He's not even part of the administration. He's just a citizen like me. If Congress wanted me to come testify about something, I don't think they'd be negotiating it with me. They'd tell me to get my butt in that chair or else, and the or else would be carried through if I didn't. The special treatment accorded to these thugs just sickens me. And he determined how long he would testify? Hillary testified for 12 hours! You didn't see her whining about it. I suppose it doesn't really matter as we all know he's not going to tell the truth anyway, but it just really p*sses me off.

nashville11, I totally agree. I'm so sick of "I'm special, the laws don't apply to me" that this administration(and family) - it's just beyond what would be acceptable for anyone else, including any other president.

I hardly know what to say anymore. It certainly was crazy to hear the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee (LG) tell someone (Djr) to ignore his subpoena *shakes head*

The whole of Washington and a very large segment of the country seems to have just gone stark raving mad. As Pam said, when did it become acceptable to break the law? When did it become acceptable for so called leaders of our democracy to tell people to just break the law? What's the point of even having laws if it's o.k. to just ignore them? Of course, evidently it's only o.k. to ignore the laws if your last name is Trump or you are in some way associated with this administration and its band of Republican cheerleaders. The rule of law seems to have just been tossed out the window.
And all these people screaming about Democrats trying to impose socialism? What the heck is it but socialism if you are paying the farmers for the crops they can no longer sell to China? What was it when we paid tobacco farmers not to grow tobacco? I'm not down on farmers. I feel badly for them, and I'm not at all opposed to helping them. But a lot of those farmers are not the little guy we picture in our minds but rather huge corporations such as Del Monte and Sunkist. When Obama bailed out the auto industry Republicans acted like he was committing something akin to treason. But Trump just willy nilly throws around huge tariffs on China then bails out agriculture, and Republicans are suddenly just fine with it. I need to order a pair of hip boots, maybe even a ladder. It's getting awfully deep around here.

I hope this guy is good and trustworthy, Anne, but I have to admit I have no trust in Barr whatsoever. So I am suspicious of anything he does. Maybe I am being too cynical. I hope so.

Small suggestion for those 25 white guys in Alabama's Senate who voted for the Abortion Ban. They should all donate some time each and every week to community service in their district. But before that, absolutely adopt a child, minority or with challenges to prove their love of life and those little people. If you are gonna talk the talk then walk the walk. Did I hear correctly that one of those men wanted any ectopic pregnancy to be corrected by surgery and then placing the fetus in the womb? ?? Sadly Bubba-boy, no medical technology currently exists to move an ectopic pregnancy from the fallopian tubes to the uterus. Tell me how good I am not to make a snarkie remark about brain implants..................

I hope so Joyce you are not being cynical at all......."once bitten twice shy". A healthy dose of cynicism we need to have, to survive the poor choice for President the people who did not do their due dilligence elected. Everything and anything he can destroy he will with great glee.
