I just saw a segment on The Today Show about CBD products. I'm interested in learning about these products, specifically if there was something to rub on sore muscles. I'm uneasy about ingesting any products. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations?
** For those, like me, who don't know what CBD products are: "CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of cannabis (marijuana). While CBD is an essential component of medical marijuana, it is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant. While CBD is a component of marijuana (one of hundreds), by itself it does not cause a āhigh.ā According to a report from the World Health Organization, āIn humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potentialā¦. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.ā (from Harvard Health site)

I have a friend who uses CBD gummies and swears by them for pain reduction and as a sleep aid. I tried them as a sleep and and found that I didnāt achieve a deep sleep and felt groggy all the next day. I gave them to a friend to try and while he didnāt report grogginess they didnāt seem to help him sleep.
I do believe that there are CBD gels you can buy to try for pain.

linda72,- That is wild that you posted this today. I thought about posting a question about it this morning. I read that it's legal in all 50 states, and at the federal level. It's not the same as medical marijuana. You do not need a prescription card and it will not show up on a drug test. I'm just a little nervous to try it. I would love to try it for headaches. I'm just not sure about it mixing with my Zoloft. if anyone has info I would love to hear about it. Thanks

Iād say: first, talk to your pharmacist to see if he has any knowledge and advice to share. Then, if there are no cautions there, consider talking to your doctor before embarking on the journey.

linda72 I had a terrible fall on the tile floor and got a bad black eye and put my hip out of alignment. Before I saw a chiropractor we were in La Jolla and I got a massage. The masseuse asked if she could apply a CBD cream to my sore areas. The brand, which I bought because it worked so well, is CannaisseurBrands.com and you can buy it on line for the same price I paid at the resort. It is pain relief cream for muscle and joint pain relief and it is a topical so I feel no need to talk to a pharmacist or doctor. I know my doctor would approve without my asking her. It is a good legitimate brand and there are a lot of scam brands on the market I would not buy. I had considered one before that was mentioned on a local tv news show but I knew nothing about the brand. I have used it since for aches and pains.

jamescat1, thank you for the information. I want to get a cream to massage into achy joints and muscles. I would not want to ingest something that could impact my health. I will look for this cream.

linda72 , I'm so glad Audrey gave you a name brand and vouched for it because there are a lot of low quality and BS products out there. You want to get pharmaceutical grade CBD oil. Though the legal limit for the sale and shipping of CBD is 0.3% THC, You want to make sure the product you buy contains less than 0.05%. It's really important to get a CBD product that is independent third-party tested. Those that are, proudly advertise that they are. It also matters that your CBD product is full-spectrum (whole plant) otherwise you are just wasting your $$$. CBD made from isolated hemp is not nearly as effective. I hope the cream gives you some relief. hpeterson1951 , I understand that medicines that should NOT be taken with grapefruit or grapefruit juice, are the kind of meds that may be affected by CBD. *** As always, you should consult your physician first ***

bbbearsmom, Yikes! Judy now that you mention it, I heard a similar story that took place at Dallas/FtWorth. It looks like individual states are implementing their own standards for flying. The legal Federal limit of 0.3% can be detected with standard test. Best to go with one thatās as close to zero as possible.

My husband tried some products because he has chronic back pain. Didn't help at all - not even a little.
I work for a law enforcement agency - we've been advised not to try any of it as it can show up on drug tests (we have random drug tests, so.....). I googled this and yes, it is a possibility.

I will share a story about ingesting products. A friend my age is having swallowing issues recently and her GI doctor thinks it may have resulted from smoking medical marijuana too often š
After a TSA agent unsuccessfully tried to take my pricey lipstick because of its shape I carry nothing that would be confiscated . Also regarding the above , my swallowing issues began when a Cornish game hen bone got stuck in my throat and had to be removed by a doctor.
