I'm IN.
Mixed weather today - showers, strong storms, T-storms - but nothing like the midwest is getting. And supposedly in the 70s.
MHMR is moving 15 minutes earlier <sigh>.
Need coffee... ☕☕☕...
🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿 Have a healthy-eating day, all. 🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿

I'm IN. Warm and muggy here. This will be the same forecast for Houston for the next 6 months.
School is out early today; last day of school! I'll be kicking into gear as I pick up the grands while their Mom stays at school to work. I'll be having Grammy Camp for the next week, until DD is finished next Thursday. It'll be fun to have the grands around but I'll need to plan things for them to do. Might be the time to polish my silverware and clean out cabinets! HA!
Have everyone has a good day!

Good morning.
Going to my WW meeting this morning but declining a weigh-in. I have started falling back into a practice that took me a long time to ditch---fixation on the scale numbers and having my mood unduly influenced by those numbers. I really hate weekly weigh-ins and was quite happy with weighing in monthly at home. Yes, I need the accountability but I am not feeling the need to weigh in every week and truly don't like how it is messing with my head. The weekly meetings have been helpful and I like the leader and the group. Going to try this for a while and see how it goes--stay tuned!
Sun is out right now after rains overnight but we are getting storms later. The fencing was supposed to be installed today (tentative date, of course) but that's not going to happen because of all the rain we've been getting. Everyone has been pushed back. So every day we are supposed to wait for a call from the fencing company, kinda like calling in to find out whether you have jury duty, lol.
Might do a Costco run later, garden chores are pretty much done for now.
Have a good day, everyone. KOKO.

Morning all and thanks for getting us going diva49! I am in. fullmahina I completely agree with using the no weigh in pass option. It is why they have been around forever. Some folks are adamant about weighing in each week and if that works for you great. I am a firm believer in getting your head in the right place, that is the key to weight loss. If the scale is going to play tricks with you then by all means go for just the meeting! I never understood why on the old board people would “shame” someone when they wanted to use the no weigh in option. Everyone is different you have to do what works for you. Have a great day folks! ☕️🌷☕️☕️

Good morning all. I'm in. We're having the same mixed weather here. The deck is finished finally and we're just waiting for our turn to have the beds mulched and the walks and siding power-washed. If my back cooperates, we'll be heading down to the boat this weekend. We have life-long friends that berth at the same marina so a joint outing is in the works. linda72, enjoy the grands! Have a great day!

Good morning. I’m in. Moving around a bit more easily; the horrible, evil muscle spasm seems to have relaxed leaving just some soreness. I got out for a brief visit at the library yesterday and then lunch with a friend. Construction continues. I may have to start making after-construction plans—hadn’t thought of that. I will need to find and hire a cleaning service to de-dust everything downstairs for sure. DebDoesWW, the counters and shower walls make a huge difference for sure. Today I will do a walkthrough (or hobble-through) for the cabinetry with the foreman, note any fixes that need to take place and sign off on that aspect of the work. The will start installing the backsplash tile today and should be finished with that by tomorrow. This morning’s news brings a report of yet another study regarding diets, specifically a suggested link between low-carb dieting that omits whole grains, dairy, fruits and vegetables in reasonable quantities. Video segment on Good Morning America is here: www.goodmorningamerica.com/wellness/story/dietary-factors-increase-risk-cancer-study-63215976I hope everyone is enjoying the day. KOKO

I’m in. Chilly temps in the 40s. Sunshine and warmer temps in the forecast tomorrow. No rain or snow predicted. I’m dressing warmly and we’re taking mom out to lunch. I could feel her smile through the phone. 😊 hopefully everyone is safe and dry today.

I'm in! Good afternoon, everyone!
Pretty day here, storms earlier but sun is currently shining.
I'm still struggling with weight loss. Still no reasonable options for a meeting place. Sixty-eighty miles round trip? I think not.
If I'm going to do this it will have to be on my own. Online just doesn't work for me as I need the accountability of in person weigh-in's. DH said he would weigh me in??? Yeah, like that would work or even be an option for me. lol Sorry for the negative vibes today as I pick myself up and try again.
Have a good holiday weekend everyone!

I really like your countertops. In fact, I like all of your choices. I wondered if you planned to put plants on the window sill above the sink? If there was extra material from the countertops, it could be placed on the sill to make it waterproof. I've seen that done before and it seems like a good idea. Of course, I did not do that in my house!

I never understood why on the old board people would “shame” someone when they wanted to use the no weigh in option. Everyone is different you have to do what works for you. Deb, I remember those precious "No Weigh-In" passes well. IIRC we used to get three at the first meeting of the year. Well, no more passes! You don't have to weigh in at all anymore, apparently. When I checked in and told them that I was checking in but not weighing in the weigh-in person said "No problem, we're glad you're here! And not weighing in in always an option!" I was a little apprehensive (remembering the shaming days of yore) but it was not an issue at all. In fact, the topic today was about taking a break from weight loss and the no-weigh-in option was discussed. Moving around a bit more easily; the horrible, evil muscle spasm seems to have relaxed leaving just some soreness. I got out for a brief visit at the library yesterday and then lunch with a friend. Glad your back problems seems to be easing up a bit. Your home improvements look fabulous---I love everything! Beautiful and the progress is going along at a great pace! The fencing company called today and the installment is on for tomorrow. So is lousy weather but the guy said that unless it is a torrential downpour they will be here. We shall see. ETA: I checked tomorrow's forecast again and it is supposed to nice and sunny!! Yay!

Hi all, Well the drama continues. We had a 3 hour meeting for this kiddo who's mom won't take him to the doctor. It ended up in calling child line, filing a medical neglect report and now waiting for the backlash.
I got two terribly hateful E-mails from her this morning before the meeting. She's dropping the F-bomb, calling the nurse a "dumb as Bit--" and just cursing everyone out and putting all sorts of crazy imogees in there. This woman is not stable.
I must have looked rough because when I came back from the meeting everyone said I looked like I was put through the ringer. Even one of my kids gave me a hug and offered me a cookie (our club was having a party) because he was worried about me. I love these kiddos!
I'm not sure where everyone lives, but love and prayers to all those who may be experiencing severe weather.
Be safe and thanks for listening

linda72, thanks for the idea. You can’t really tell from the photos but there is no room for any kind of a sill that would support anything. Plus there is a necessary shade (safely stored at the moment) which is required not just for privacy but because the front windows have full eastern exposure and the hot sun blasts in them in the morning hours (especially summery), adding heat to the house. One of the reasons my recent window coverings redo included motorized smart blinds for the front windows—different times of the day the shades open/close to different positions to block the sun as needed. fullmahina, thanks. It feels good to be getting out a bit. On the subject of skipping weigh-ins, the rarified “no-weigh passes” went away long before the latest attitude change. I remember that sometime in the PointsPlus era it became permissible to skip all weigh-ins except once a month. I guess there was a shift in thinking from the original, “The goal for members is to have them reach and maintain a healthy goal weight,” to, “The goal for members is to string them along and collect fees for as many months or years as we can convince them to keep coming and paying.” Nowadays, motivation seems to need to come mostly from within ourselves.

“The goal for members is to string them along and collect fees for as many months or years as we can convince them to keep coming and paying.” Funny, the woman weighing me in passed the remark "It really doesn't make any difference---you pay for a monthly pass" at the end of our conversation about no-weigh-in days. Sometimes the truth comes out I guess.
