I grabbed this off of another thread where it was buried because I thought it was very informative for anyone thinking about joining any of the meal services out there. cyndee has kindly offered to answer any questions if anyone has any.

“I've also rejoined Blue Apron's WW Freestyle meal service. Of the three meal services I tried (Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, and Sun Basket), I liked Blue Apron's WW Freestyle best. Reasons include:
* Generally lower-calorie/point foods than the other two option's "lower calorie" choices.
* More interesting (and newer) types of recipes and ingredients to explore. Keeps it fun!
* Many meals were better-tasting and looking to both my husband's and my points of views/tastes.
* Blue Apron offers a variety of vegetables, flavors, and types of cuisine options. So often the vegetables in the meals of the other two plans were frequently repeated. So were many "spice blends". Hello Fresh meals were often either boring options, too much like my usual cooking, or the ingredients were not worth the cost (too many cheap ingredients repeated). For example, they often included huge numbers of potatoes and carrots. Often Sun Basket had "cuisine/food themes", which seemed nice at first, but then seemed to limit options. Both Hello Fresh and Sun Basket's "diet-conscious" meals were mostly low carb. I don't always mind that, but I found myself having to provide bread/rice/potato for my husband.
* Blue Apron's WW Freestyle option reminded me a little bit of the WW Core Plan from the past. Both my husband and I liked the WW Core Plan.
* Blue Apron's portions were either right on target (including for my husband) or generous. Though that was the case for the others, most of the time, sometimes we felt deprived of the protein and veggies on Hello Fresh, with a boat load of potatoes left.
* Because Blue Apron has a specific WW Freestyle meal plan, they offer more "low cal/point" meals to choose from. Though Hello Fresh and Sun Basket had some diet-conscious options, they were fewer. I found myself ordering regular meals because of my husband's garlic issue or because I didn't like their few diet-conscious meals.
* Ingredients were consistently good-quality.
* I liked the Blue Apron app the best of the three. Easiest to use and professional-looking.
* The Blue Apron app and website made it easier for me to choose recipes that either didn't include garlic (my husband is allergic to garlic) or could have garlic eliminated. The Hello Fresh site didn't even include the spice mix ingredients on their website/app. I only found that info AFTER receiving the kit. I do have a well-stocked spice cabinet and am creative, but it was still annoying.
* Economical choice among meal kit plans.
* I didn't like how Hello Fresh had so few meals at the member price and so many that required "extra" per person costs (i.e. special extra gourmet options or upgrades from a lesser type of fish/meat).
* Blue Apron sent me another $60 off coupon to reactivate. The first time I tried them I used a $60 promo coupon. The others I tried also offered promo coupons, but have not sent reactivation incentives. I will likely not reactivate the others, even if they do send other incentives.”
