This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it

Good morning
As I was at the Dentist I realized I start the June thread a day early! So sorry, but glad you followed me DotRen ;-)
DotRen, Happy Anniversary! 32 years is so wonderful.
I hope everyone is doing well. I have my WW meeting this morning. CJ59 did you decide if you will go to a meeting? I think they would probably let you attend one for free to see if you like it.

Hello Everyone sunrose - I just figured you were anxious for June to begin Thanks for starting the thread. I can't believe how quickly May went by, I'm glad to put it behind me. It has always been a month that I don't care for, for personal/family reasons. Hopefully June will be better. I don't think I'll go to meetings, at least not yet. I joined the 100 day challenge on this board and I'm going to focus on the Good Health Guidelines for my meals and daily habits during that time. I hope this will help me to get back in the habit of eating well and getting activity. I did get all of the junk food out of the house (again!) and hopefully I can keep it out this time. I know that I can't have it in the house, because I'm just not strong enough to avoid it. I just hope I can be strong when I go to the grocery store, that's gotten so difficult for me since I've been off track. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and doing well on your plans.

Hope everyone is doing well today. I'm tracking my food again and focusing on getting in fruits, vegetables and dairy. Hope I can stick with it this time. I'm a bit worried about going to the grocery store this week. I made a list and hopefully I'll stick with it, get foods on my plan and get out of there! I do miss my hot tea with sugar, but I think I'll adjust to using Equal in it. And I'll probably be having more iced tea now that it's warmer. I'm going to look for an immersion blender this week. I think I could get good use out of it to make soups and a mocha frappe drink that I like. DotRen - Belated Happy Anniversary wishes to you, hope you enjoyed the day

Good morning
cj59, I think you have a great plan in place. I have tried to stick to my store list lately. I like ice tea when it is warmer too.
Waving to all
I have a pole barn and when I went in it Saturday to get the lawnmower I turned and a black snake was hanging out the top of a box! OMG scared me. My neighbor was so nice to come over and remove it. His daughter and I went to look if there were any eggs and another black snake was in the box! We both ran out....lol Bob got that one for me too. Ugh....nervous to go back in it.
I have been doing better with v/f and my waters. I just can't break the 200 mark. I get so close then mess up. I will eventually break it.

*waves* Thanks CJ He was off all week and I'm glad he went back to work today lol. He's very much a "plan big then do nothing" guy, which irritates the crap out of me He was going to clean out under the magnolia trees (if I knew how to post photos I'd show you - they're so overgrown you can't even see the trunks) but that didn't happen. He did get the 2nd motion light hung off the back of the laundry room so we can find Murray in the dark if he's on the other side of the back yard. Black dog is ninja at night lol. sunrose49, lol not a fan of snakes here, either. Glad they were just black snakes! We watch a show on animal planet called Lone Star Law that follows Texas game wardens. It's very interesting. We started watching it because my brother had just started a charter fishing business earlier this year and they were filming it off South Padre Island and he got a warning for not displaying his numbers right on his boat and they filmed it. That one hasn't aired yet, or it may not depending on how they edit. Anyway they had a guy that caught 27 copper head snakes on a playground! He was turning them over to some company that milks them to make anti-venoms. But really, 27 on a kids playground, how scary is that?! Hope everyone is off to a good start to June

Hello Everyone - Hope you are having a good day and doing well on your plan sunrose - I would never be going back in that pole barn if that happened to me I have a big old garage that is full of my father's tools and projects he was working on, and things stored before he got too sick to work in there. I haven't opened that thing for several years and I'm scared to do it unless it's the dead of winter and hopefully all the wildlife is hibernating. I'm glad you had someone to help you. DotRen - That's funny about Murray being a ninja at night I went grocery shopping today and only bought healthy foods and things on my list. It really helped that my legs and knees were hurting me and that kept me on track to not buy any junk food and to get in and out of the store quickly. Getting this pain again has motivated me to get back on track and get the weight back off so they won't hurt anymore. I also bought an immersion blender and I'm going to use it to make some vegetable soup, since I prefer a smoother soup rather than a chunky one. I used to take my soup and put it in the blender, but that's a pain so I hope the handheld blender will work well.

Good morning
dotren, wow 27 copper heads! And on a play ground--scary. Too funny regarding your husband.
cj59, so proud of you for sticking to the list! I hope you enjoy the immersion blender.
I had a nice lunch (chopped salad) with my friend yesterday. We walked 2 miles first. It was a beautiful day. I need to do some yard work today. Maybe a few walks too.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today
sunrose - Glad you are enjoying your walks. I sometimes wish I could do my walking outside, but I don't live in a safe area. And it's more convenient walking inside since I can do it any time of the day, so it works for me.
I've been sticking to eating healthy foods. I had the thought again today how eating like this and all the planning is just like a job. That has always made me quit in the past because it's just a "pain" But this time I'm going to try to stick through the 100 days of the challenge I started on this board.
Also, I'm going to put a dollar in the jar every day I make it through and hopefully at the end I'll have $100 to do something fun with. I figured since it feels like a job, I should get paid!

Good morning
cj59, I love the jar idea. Hmm maybe I should try something like that. Keep up the good work! Glad the walking inside works for you.
I'm trying to come up with some different things to eat for lunch/dinner. I'm still not eating beef, very little chicken/turkey and no pork. I need to get my airfryer out and cook some shrimp and fish in it. Maybe that will help.

Hello Everyone sunrose - It is really tough finding different foods to eat, isn't it? This time around I'm planning to eat a lot of the same things all the time, just to make it easier with less choices. I'm hoping I won't get burned out on the same food too soon. A lot of people really love the air fryer, I hope you can make some delicious foods to in there. The last time I lost weight I had a small glass jar and I bought some colored plastic beads at the craft store and put one in there for each pound I lost. It was neat to see them all in there at the end. I think the $1.00 bill will be nicer this time so I can use the money at the end to buy something for myself. I tried the immersion blender today to make some vegetable soup. I heated up a can of sliced carrots, can of green beans, can of tomatoes with chilies, and a can of chicken broth and heated it to boiling. I also added some black pepper, since I like things with some heat, and sometimes I'll put a bit of seasoned salt in the soup, but it's not really needed. Then when it had stopped boiling (after taking it off the heat) I used the blender to make it more of a bisque type soup, which I prefer with these canned vegetables. The blender worked pretty well, but the motor part came loose from the blender wand a few times. I don't know if I just didn't tighten it well or what. This was a lot easier than pouring the mixture in a blender, like I used to do. I also make this soup with green beans, carrots, zucchini in tomato sauce (Del Monte), chicken broth, tomatoes with basil, oregano and garlic and it makes an Italian version. I can get 3 large servings out of it, so it lasts me for several days. Hope everyone is doing well on your plans and just doing well in general
