cj59, do you put $$ in the jar every day you stay on track? Seems like a great idea

DotRen - Yes, that is what I've been doing. I keep the jar in my bedroom and at the end of the day I add a $1.00 bill for being on track/plan. It's working really well for me for continued motivation. It will be fun to pull out the $100 at the end of the 100 day challenge.
I'm doing pretty well today. I had a headache earlier which I get sometimes when I haven't eaten enough, it's gone away after eating some more. Hopefully that's all it was.
Getting in my steps has been easier this week because I've been getting up earlier. I hope I can keep that up next week.
Hope everyone else checking in is doing well on their plans and that you all have a great weekend!

*waves* Murrays vet visit went well. He's down another pound to 106 (he had re-gained 3 pounds from the antihistamines, so he lost 4 pounds since the last visit). I can tell he's thinning down because his harness is loose when we "get him dressed" to go. He's such a good boy lol -they drew blood for a heartworm test and he stood stock still, never twitched a muscle. Our day was quiet. Son had tutoring to do so he was out several hours today. We didn't make it to the farmers market. I hope I can get some more duck eggs, so I can make Murray a "burger" since he can have turkey. I have a little Dash 4" waffle iron, if you crack an egg in there, it makes a little waffle that passes for bread lol. If I can get duck eggs, I can make him a burger. For me, the waffle maker is great for low-carb sandwiches. I beat 2 eggs with 1 teaspoon coconut flour and 1 tablespoon unsweetened almond milk and it makes 3-4 waffles. I made a tomato sandwich with them yesterday and it was really good (just the waffle bread, mayo and fresh tomato slices).

DotRen - Hope you do find the duck eggs for Murray, he sounds like he's a good day That waffle maker does sound like a useful appliance, I'm glad you enjoy making things in it. I find that I rarely use any small appliances. When I do use them I'm reminded how handy they are. I still have a new blender in a box that I've never opened, since the old one is working alright after it starting smoking once. I figure I'll just keep using it until it dies The weather here is getting hot and we're supposed to have a week in the 90s. It was so nice having those cooler days on Friday and Saturday.

sunrose49 , new day, new week - you've got this I'm doing a few days of " Squeaky clean keto , probably 3-4 days, because I've been eating too many "products" and not enough real foods. cj59, I love kitchen gadgets. I usually end up falling out of love with them over time, but I'd forgotten how useful the little waffle iron is. Since it's the same size as the Great Value turkey sausage breakfast patties, it's actually perfect for bread-less breakfast sandwiches, too Just use whole egg or egg whites as the "bread" for them

Hi everyone! I thought that I would check in.
I have been counting Momentum points for the last week on itrackbites. I'm doing it reluctantly because I still have mixed feelings about it. I'm really unhappy at my size. Nothing fits and shopping in regular stores has become almost impossible. I'm also giving myself plenty more points than I would otherwise be allowed.
I'm super stressed right now because of work and part of me thinks that perhaps I'm doing this right now as a distraction from my work stress, which I find concerning. Another part of me thinks that it's just time. I have been at this new job for a year now and I'm getting settled in and doing well, so it's time to switch my focus a little to my health and my home life.
After one week, I'm down about 5 pounds, which is encouraging. I am going away this weekend, so that will be a challenge, but I'm going to just try to be reasonable. I would love for all of this extra weight to just fall off, but I know better. Overall, I'm up about 15-20 pounds from where I was when I started my last diet plan. So, I gained everything back and then some. I'm roughly 15 pounds less then my all-time pregnant high. My personal life was a bit of a train wreck for the past three years or so, though, so I'm cutting myself some slack on that front.
The bottom line is that I am uncomfortable in my own skin. I see pictures of myself or catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I can't believe that it's me. My body is all out of proportion from what is used to look like. I'm sure that some of that is just age, but my stomach has crossed over from large to unwieldy. The clothes I used to love no longer flatter me. That's hard.
On a positive note, my family life and work-life balance are doing very well. I'm happier than I have been in a long time. I love my job (most days!). My finances are slowly coming into place after the huge pay cut I took to get this job. No one I love has gotten cancer yet this year (making it the first year in three years that has been the case).
I would like to work on being more active. It's hard to do anything consistently with this job, but I need to work on that.
I hope you all are doing well.

wwlurker, momentum was a great plan. I think I still have some cookbooks stored away somewhere from it. When did stress become such a normal part of life? I'm sure it always was, but it seems like we're just so busy rushing and hurrying we don't take time to just re-energize and focus on our own well being.

Good morning! DotRen, I know what you mean. I have better balance in my life and generally my stress is more contained than it once was, but I still have quite a bit. In my daily life, most of my stress is work and kid related, but the past few years have been stressful on a more personal level as well. It's like everything happened all at once. I'm plugging away. My schedule is off this week, so things are a little out of the ordinary for me, which actually makes it easier to stay on plan, because I simply do not have many opportunities to eat during the day. So there is less snacking and mindless eating going on. My activity level is holding strong. I don't have a lot of intentional exercise in my life right now; that's something I'd like to work on, but I do have a lot more walking in my daily life than I used to. My car is about a 10 minute walk away from the office, and I often have to walk up the street (up a big hill) for meetings (sometimes multiple times a day), so those two things have boosted my steps. I noticed today that my shirt is looser than it has been in a long time. I always seem to lose and gain on the belly first. Hope everyone is doing well!

wwlurker, I read an interesting article that made a very big connection between having an orderly work space (or home) and your dietary habits. It basically said that: people who are orderly and keep things neat tend to be able to control their eating. Which explains why I'm screwed!I'm chaotic at best lol

Hello Everyone sunrose - I'm glad to see you post and hope you can get refocused wwlurker - I'm happy to see you post too and can relate to everything you said. I give you a lot of credit for working on your health and weight loss while you are working, I know how difficult that can be, but I know you can do it You know I loved Momentum, it worked so well for me for weight loss, it just didn't work for maintenance, so I hope it does help you get back on track. Please post so we'll know how you are doing. DotRen - Parts of my life seem chaotic to me, no wonder I keep backsliding with weight loss I'm staying on track and I like counting calories, with a focus on the Good Health Guidelines. This has been an easy "diet" for me to follow so far. And working towards being successful on the 100 day challenge is keeping me motivated. I still have thoughts of sliding back to my old "bad" eating habits, and I guess that will never go away. The only way to fight that is not to have anything of the junk foods in my house that I overeat the most. I have cut back a lot on my sugar consumption and that was what I wanted to work on, so I'm glad about that. Like all of us though, I just wish it were easier and quicker Take care everyone!

just a quick note to say hello, I'm here. Doing ok - this week has been a challenge because I used a ton of my WPs on Saturday and didn't leave much for the rest of the week. I'm trying to avoid "all or nothing" thinking and just stay the course. If I go over a bit between now and Saturday when my week restarts, that's ok, as long as I don't just go completely off the rails. This is a real problem for me. I'm seeing some results and don't want to backslide, which I know will happen if I give up.
