This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

GM All the Cats to follow! Just wanted to start the thread. I hope you have a productive lunch with your friend, Martha and she has good advice. I did end up getting new running shoes with an extra insert to help me with my arch. Hoping it helps the way my weight is distributed. I wonder how many pounds you have to lose to make your feet get smaller? Anyone know? I'll stop back later and see who has stopped by. Congratulations to plain kate for having a paid project to work on! That's great!

Aloha Lynne, and all who follow!
I had a great heart-to-heart with my DMom yesterday. She is doing well, despite all the craziness that is going on right now. It will be good to see everyone in a few weeks. I suspect I need to have a conversation with my DBro, to clear up expectations on who is doing what, etc.....I tell him often that I appreciate all that he does because he lives so close to mom and dad, but I suspect I need to tell him more often or something. Anyway.....
Lynne, I am so very sorry to hear of your "friends" that have gone the other way. It is such a disheartening experience, the people that take the opposite view to yours, including people you felt to be friends and confidantes. I know it doesn't help now, but you are better off without them, if that is their perspective. Let me know how you like the arch supports and shoes. I have really high arches, but haven't worn supports because they tend to push my foot to the top of the shoe, then the blood circulation gets cut off. Argh. I know my feet went up a size when I was pregnant with DS - that was about 40 pounds.
PKate, huzzah for a bigger gig in your future! All of your diligent networking is paying off. How is the weather up there?
I hope Karla is hanging in there.
Martha, glad to hear you have some options with temp agencies. I hope something pans out.
Angela! So awesome to see you!
Nancy, am thinking of you and your family right now.
T, where are you? Are you okay?
Melinda, I hope your stomach has calmed down and you are working through it all okay....
The Phil is doing much better today. He was even able to go on our morning walk today, which was great. Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Me again. Home now, Mick in deep sleep from his outing. Having brief quiet before my 4th ww mtg of the week. Subbed an extra yesterday. No piano all week. I planned some make-ups but was too hacky and germy to sit beside anyone. I'm better now but symptoms not gone. Ear plugged, chest sore from coughing, blahblah. But better.
MCat, glad to hear "The Phil" is back at it, able to take a walk with you. Nice to have you checking in and hearing about your world. Frieda, I don't know about foot size shrinking. I do wear a smaller size than I used to but that might be a half size or one size difference on maybe 40 lbs in my case, and many, many years. Never gave it much thought. Hope your new footwear gives you good results.
We are missing T when she steps away. Hope all is well. How go sales at la boutique, Nancy? So sorry for your family loss.
Martha, I've known others who went on to good jobs through a start in temporary assignments. Good luck to you with that idea. May it bear fruit. PKate, nice to see you here. Congrats on the fall gig you've scored, and good luck with the present one. Always multiple spinning plates for you, ma'am.
The next three days free of gainful employment, and an opportunity to clear more and pack. We are packing as we go, as best we can. What a daunting task! But not wanting to leave this ancestral mess to my children is motivation enough to face it head on. I have spoken about how long I want to live - when my kids were small, I wanted to live until they were both of legal age so no one had to "raise them" other than us. Did that. Now I want to live long enough to clean out my house so those same kids will never have to be faced with my(our) total crap - mine and other generations that have ended up here. Then i want to live to see little Boomer Phelps in competitive swimming like his daddy did so magnificently. Goals.
Ok, Kitties, off to inspire someone, hopefully. Waves to each and every one.

Quick flying post. It's been that kind of a day.
Frieda, I am so sorry for the latest turn of events. I wish it weren't so. Sending you lots of love, my girl.I don't think feet get smaller. Bones and all.
Shari, good to hear from you; glad you and Humphrey are parting ways. On behalf of your children, I appreciate all the sifting and sorting you are doing. My mom continues to clutch onto all the things. Speaking of which, will go see her in mid-March for her birthday.
MCAT, I hear you on the heart-to-heart with your brother. Probably not enough thank yous around for those who are closest to the situation.
O., Martha, your situation is tough. Hang in there. Find ways to give yourself some structure so you don't despair while you search.
All right. Off to rehearsal.
