I miss Cat already.. Wonder what happened to that lady who had the meltdown in the dining room.. that had to be upsetting for the residents there..
Phyl, thanks for missing me.. I didn't see the thread Friday night and yesterday I was just lazy.. didn't even go back to read until just awhile ago before I came to post here.
We did some rearranging of our living room furniture today.. hubby wasn't happy that his chair wasn't facing more directly to the tv.. He loves TV. I need to get rid of some clutter.. I had such a big house before I moved here.. got rid of lots of things.. gave them away.. tossed things.. but seems like I still have too much for this smaller house. I just cringe when I think of giving anything else away.. but also I hate clutter..
Since Cat isn't here to give us a question I thought maybe you would like one that I thought of..
When you were growing up, did you have one special person (other than your parents) who you looked up to and what made them so special?
I will give my answer on the next post.

I had a rough childhood. My father was an alcoholic who would come home late and angry sometimes. We lived way out in the country but had a neighbor just about a quarter of a mile from us. When my father came home in one of his moods, my siblings and I would crawl through the bedroom window, go down in an irrigation ditches and run to the neighbors house. She would take us in, put us to bed and bring us warm malted milk. She kept us safe. Her name was Louisa. I'll never forget her.

Debbie posted a picture of Fred laughing on Facebook and had a verse next to his picture that said any man can be a father but it takes someone special to be a Dad. Then added how proud she was to be his daughter. Plus said anyone who knows him can hear his laugh just by looking at the picture! Since he doesn't do Facebook I showed it to him and he wanted to reply so I said just do a comment. He gave me a funny look and finally I said act like you're texting on your phone! π
Going to Debbie's at noon today.
All I do anymore is hope we hear that the divorce is finally on the court docket.
You can be assured that we will NEVER loan Cindy any money ever again. I felt sorry for her and them but now that Mike is doing well with his consulting business once again they are living beyond their means and no mention of the large check anymore. Funny how two weeks turned into 6 months!
Got the first set of blood work back regarding hepatitis and just like I already knew it was negative. I don't care what they say it's just too coincidental that the rise in the liver count happened right along with starting januvia. Now just waiting for the A1C test results to come back. Not sure how I can talk to anyone about my concern as my current doctor has basically already checked out and the np is handling everything and she's the one who claims januvia is great and has no side effects and I can't talk to the doctor I've chosen as my new doctor as I don't see him until October. (Sigh)
AOTD: sorry to say I had nobody when I was younger that I looked up to. My mother tried to be a good mother and I dearly loved her but she tried suicide many times so was not someone I could confide in or look up to. I could talk to Dad about many things but nothing personal so I really grew up counting on myself and nobody else.

good morning, Jenny I don't think I posted Friday night. I was so tried and went to bed a little after 10.
I do not always sleep the best at Jim and Theresa's.
My special person was my Grandma Margaret Schwindt. moved in with grandma when I was 5,think jimmy was about 11 and Lavern must have been about 16. dad was a big beer drinker. on weekends they would go to the bars.
I had grandma to be with. she was from Germany and could not speak English.I knew she loved me.I can remember her sitting in her green chair and I would be sitting on the floor talking to her in German.
when I am dying and that special angel comes I hope it is grandma and our dog rex. having grandma did make my child hood better. bugs bunny phyl
like you Jenny my child hood was not that great.

Rain, Thunder, electricity off a couple of hours from a bit after 4. More rain for today.
My favorite person was my paternal grandmother. We always lived in walking distance, across the creek. She would listen to me chatter on and even keep me at it while she sat and ironed, or did whatever. She had to sit to do everything because of her legs. She walked with a cane then eventually a wheelchair and finally bedridden and Daddy and Grandpa would get her up to walk every evening. She died when I was 14. I helped take care of her that last summer. I was 14 three days before she died in the hospital from a leg amputation. She died August 19, 1953.
Church today. Lunch with friends at Braum's and pick up a few groceries there.
Coffee time. Have a great Father's Day all. My dad died at age 60. ITSY BITSY SPIDER LUCY

Good Morning Phyl and June Bugs,
This morning it is 64* and going up to 86* and mostly sunny with winds NNE 5 to 10 mph.
We plan to go to church this morning if everyone wakes up feeling good today. MJ had a headache all day yesterday and still had it at bedtime, so I hope she was able to sleep it off.
As far as I know there are no other plans today.
Rachael spent the night with her best friend again last night.
Bailey woke me and needed to go out during the night. I was surprised that I was able to put her out, and Hunter too, without waking anyone.
Aunty Acid for Sat-Sun June 15-16: Do you know what I'm thinking right now? No. Neither do I... Frightening isn't it!

Hi!
My special person other than my mother was my aunt. She was a schoolteacher, never married though she had chances, and was kind, generous, patient, sensible, and strong. I have always wanted to be like her. My cousin and I took care of her at the last, and I was her trustee. I was blessed to have her in my life. My mother and I had a special bond, and my aunt was her older sister.
Today it is pleasant, but storms could pop up. We had yogurt with granola for breakfast early (with those blame pills!) and will go out to brunch after church. I'll wear a shirt over my shell, hoping that is they turn the A/C off full blast I won't freeze. I never used to get so cold. Hmmm.
Today it is supposed to be my pick at brunch, so I am trying to decide.
This evening we plan to grill a couple of little steaks and fix baked potatoes to go with them. We love our little George Foreman grill! So easy!
Of course, all plans will be put aside if one of the kids wants to treat their dad.
Have a blessed and happy Sunday!
Diane

Sandy, if you read the physicians information on Januvia one of the side effeats is hepatic enzyme elevation. I don't know why they would tell you otherwise. Doesn't mean, of course, that you will have elevated enzymes but that you could have.

On my small paper I get with my prescriptions there is a note that says if you have side effects talk to your Dr ( which is not always possible) or call this number, I would call that number just to see what they would say. or if they listen and then talk. Which would be better.
Jenny, my special person was my maternal GrandMa, she seemed to be busy all the time and always had time to talk to me, I worked right along side of her and thank goodness she lived just down the hill from me. My Mom was always busy with the boys and I couldn't do anything right according to her. Funny after I got married and they moved to Florida and visited her in Florida once a year, I would find her doing things over that I had just done. I have 2 daughters and would never do that to them. Grandma used to tell me what a good daughter I was to help out with my baby brother and believe me I did. I was living in Ga. when she passed away and could not get home. I always regretted not staying in touch more after we moved to Ga when my DH was in the Army. guess I thought I would have lot of time yet.
Cat glad you will be back to vote on the names for July!! Today I loved the butterfly. but like you not a fan of bugs. Too many bite , sting, and itch. That's why I picked the lightning bug.
Did learn a lot from Phyl and Lucy!!
It is raining here again and it really poured last night several times, I haven't been in basement yet. Just don't want to go down there. Do have a basket to take down later and a load of clothes to wash.
I didn't go to DGS last night with DD. I just didnt feel that great and slept the afternoon away. Like MJ bad headache and achy. Better today but feel washed out, maybe too much sleep now.!! Can't win
the baby girl looks like my EMMA with the big bow in her hair. Red hair but who knows if it will stay that way. Big eyes like that. Dark blue!!and chubby cheeks.

AOTD My parents were very supportive of me (my older brother tended to get into trouble). Other significant people in my life were my Godparents. They also loved me unconditionally and did tend to spoil me. It was foggy when I got up this morning and is still cloudy, but no rain so far. My sheets are in the dryer. Not sure what else I'll do today.
