This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives

Good morning! I seem to have fallen down a rabbit hole and encountered more than a few strange characters while trying to find my way back. What a week.
In the meantime, to borrow some more "Literary Allusions for 1000," DGF and I are screwing our courage to the sticking point and planning to return to the WW meeting on Monday night. Right now I'm about the size of three witches, and I feel like the cauldron. If she does a Banquo on me, I'll need to go by myself.
Good to see you, Georgia Peach. I hope DSO's eye issues are on the way to being resolved?
I don't expect we'll hear too much from Susan for the next few weeks. Her summary of what's up is quite daunting -- but there's great fun in there, too.
Hugs to our Frieda. Sending "You've Got a Friend" lyrics telepathically.
And in an allusion to allusions, I bet DH sushi for dinner if I knew the question to the Famous Women in Brit Lit category of final Jeopardy question the other night. I won. (The answer: "She was the first Lady of the Isle.") For the question, tune in. . . .

Hello Kitties, I am glad I finally found my way here. Thanks for the welcome back! Yes, DSO's eye problems will so be over. He goes back to the dr. on Wednesday. Then the final surgery will be scheduled. I'm just here to say, I never imagined a detached retina would be this involved and require so many surgeries!!
We lost our biggest baby, Oreo, recently and our house just doesn't seem the same. For the longest time, the little girls went room to room looking for him. It just made us even more sad.
I am missing out on so much about what's going on with each of you. Hopefully, I will get in the groove soon enough!
So long, for now. Angela

Aloha!
We have made it to Friday! To quote a co-worker, "today is Friday, and no one can take that away from you!" Huzzah!
Today is DSD's 18th birthday. She is quite excited about being an "adult," but is not quite understanding that while technically an adult, still doing quite a few things that aren't adult-adult, if you know what I mean. I see DH and DSD clashing a bit coming up.....patience, patience.
Shari, I also send the thank you on the house cleaning! When I think about the work needed in my parent's house, including the basement I won't even go in to anymore.......sigh. I'm glad both you and DMick are doing well, despite still having a Humphrey hangover.
T, you got me. I have no clue. When I see something like that, I think of the Mists of Avalon. One of my faves. Good luck at the WW meeting. I'm pretty sure you're not cauldron size, but we all have our own perspectives.....But you can certainly dress in black!!
PKate, I suspect you are right. Never enough thanks. But we will discuss it so that he doesn't feel like I am just swanning in. That is my suspicion.....
Frieda, how did the shoes and inserts go yesterday?
Martha, I landed a couple of permanent gigs through a temp agency. You never know.
Alrighty, spreadsheets wait for no man! Or woman!!! Have a lovely one, gals!!!

Ladies, Martha, once upon a time, I took a temp job at a Wall Street bank, and I stayed there for more than twelve years. Persevere, lady. I know it sucks pretty hard right now. Frieda, I send practically the same message to you, my dear friend. I am so sorry it has come to this, and come to this in this particularly nasty way. I think of you every day. T., avoid the Eye of Newt roll when you go for sushi. O, I feel a little under it this morning, girls, and am moving through some molasses to get both my body and my brain in gear. Grateful not to have rehearsal on tonight's docket, and wishing I didn't have my grudging teens tomorrow morning, but I will rally by then, one way or another. Finished a big research project yesterday for work, and managed to get in a substantive lake walk. No losses this week, but holding steady, so that's something when I am a week away from opening a show. Waving to MCAT, Melinda, Shari, Linda, and any other CATs who may check in ...

Angela - so sorry about your baby dog. Sending healing thoughts to your dso. I was off the boards for few months during my building move. It's nice to be back and see you too.
T, good job on your resolve to get back to it. You can do this. I wore my swim suit today and I want happy with myself. I'm super white and not in the best shape. Let's work on better health together.
Florida is super. The new camper is nice. It's not built like our coach but we knew that. I've got a group of sweet ladies to hang out with. Life is good.

TGIF!!!!! Lunch & talking yesterday went quite well. 2.5 hrs later we went our separate ways. Got email back from the lady I phone interviewed with. Nothing wrong with resume or phone interview, encouraged me to continue applying. Disheartening but will persevere. It's 3pm and I am still in pj's. Today I just didn't have it in me to do anything. Hugs to all~ martha

Later post by me. Tonight is my very favorite fast food: chick-fil-A. I can have the grilled chip sandwich -8, BBQ sauce-2, and possibly only the soup or fruit cup. Not enough for the small FF-10. or maybe I do. I need to see my weeklies. I was reading on connect and someone said to eat your weeklies on days 3,4 and 5(actually there are 3 days but I'm doing 2) of your week. Sticking with 30 on Day 6 and 7. I went out last night for dinner and today will be all my weeklies. I wonder if the scale will read lighter.
Listen T. If I can post my stats at the bottom as my signature you can face the scale Monday night! I'm so glad and welcome back!
I'd share more, but it's time to go.

I'm back! I hope you all understood my message. I read that you lose weight when you eat your weeklies and to not be afraid of them. The method is to eat more on days 3,4 and 5 and eat DP on Days 1, 6 and 7. So I went for it! My weigh in is Monday, I've tracked everything and I'll let you know how I do. I might peek at the scale on Sunday morning.
Mcat: I went to New Balance for the shoes. They assess your stride and it turned out (just like the callous' I was developing) for whatever reason all of my weight was going to the top 3rd of my shoe and that a higher arch would help me. So I bought the shoes with the extra support. Today I ran, and my feet feel good. I'll let you know in a week or two how it's going!
Angela: so sorry to hear of your pets passing. That's super sad. I am sure the other dogs were looking for him. How is that grand baby of yours? How old is she now? I hope DSO's eyes get better and I hope life is treating you well.
Off to shower and see if there is a movie I want to rent. See you tomorrow.
