DebDoesWW, just getting ready to start the thread. I was beginning to think everybody must be on vacation but me! Woohoo, cold front today. It will be only 87 degrees when we tee off at 5 today. Next week back to 90+ Quiet day. DD is working, so I have the kids. Will catch up on indoor things

I'm in. Morning Deb, Linda and ATF!
Finally Friday - phew! The heatwave continues here. I'll be sticking close to home this weekend to play catch-up on all that fell by the wayside this week.
Hope everyone has a great day!

TGIF, everyone! And the holiday weekend is coming up soon for those of us in the US.
My husband and I are concerned about our parrot. He is definitely not himself at all. It started sometime last night a little after our dinner time. He is still not himself this morning, but at least not looking drugged out like he did last night. It was almost as if he took some sedative. I will be home monitoring him. If he seems to worsen instead of improve, I will call my husband so we can take him to the avian vet. I hope it doesn't come to that. The vet is usually a bit to a lot traumatizing for him, and usually takes him a couple weeks to recover from. But if he needs medication, he needs medication. Luckily hubby does get home early on Fridays, in the summer. If he didn't, I might have coerced him into staying home.
I did great this week losing 2.0 lbs. I plan to keep it up, as well as I can, through the holiday weekend. Today I will make the WW recipe for Cherry Clafouti. I bought a cherry pitter, so will use fresh cherries that were on sale this week.

Payroll will be nuts for next week due to change in minimum wage effective July 1st and only a few managers have turned their paperwork in early. Oh well.

Good morning! The day has felt "off" all morning for me. We left early for our mall walk and the "check engine" light came on in our old truck. Uh-oh, that's not good. We dropped the truck off and I'm waiting for a call with the bad news. I keep wanting to sell the truck but DH is refusing; he thinks it has a lot of good miles left in it. Hmmm, we'll see.
I helped DH with some yard work this morning. He tried to mow yesterday but it started raining. Luckily, we didn't get much so he's able to get it done today. More rain is expected this weekend. I don't mind the rain because we've had summers with NO rain at all.
I'm grilling chicken tonight so I'm planned and tracked. Also adding lots of veggies (roasted) so it will be a good meal.
*TGIF****!
ETA: I said I was going to grill chicken yesterday but that got changed at the last minute by DH....I'm flexible so it's happening tonight!

Good morning. I’m in. This will be a hit-and-run because I’m behind schedule. I was having WiFi problems with my old equipment and decided to upgrade to new, modern, state-of-the-art routers. These things never go well, but this time around it is particularly bad. First thing that happened is that the entire Smart Home setup got hosed; I had to nuke the settings and start over. I’ll be adding devices back in all weekend I’m sure; then I’ll have to recreate the various automations. Sigh. I need to hit the shower and get to the library. Thanks to Amazon’s two-factor authentication requirement and an eager IT department who swapped out the computer used for shipping Amazon orders, the account the volunteers use is locked out of Amazon, needing to go through the two-factor authentication again—BUT the paid staff member who can provide the code is on vacation out of the country and not reachable; and the shipping lead who could log in using her own account is also on vacation. That leaves—guess who>?—ME to log in with my personal account so that business can get done. And this will go on M-W-F of next week before anyone returns to solve the problem. Sigh again. Our temps have cooled down, and the weekend should be nice. Perhaps a change to get out a bit. I wish everyone a great day and weekend. KOKO P.S. cyndee, I hope your parrot recovers on his own but if he needs medical attention it is what has to be done. Why do these things always happen just before the weekend!

Good Morning I am IN. cyndee I hope your parrot is ok and gets better. Beautiful day with high of 89. I walked 2 miles this morning and did my stretches. I need to pair my Apple series 2 watch with my phone and doing it myself is just not working. I will see if the guys at the nearby AT&T store can help and if not, I will go to the Apple store at the mall. Because it is so cool I am currently roasting tomatoes for cold roasted tomato soup. We have many pounds of cherry tomatoes and I have given so many away. I can never convince my husband to plant fewer plants. I have frozen some for winter soups etc. but really don't use them that much. Meeting DH for lunch at a new place for him. I get so tired of going to the same places and this one is now run by the son of his former partner so we should support him. It is quite popular but used to not have a great food menu. Now there are several options he and I would like. Dinner is a wine club appreciation barbecue at the Kings River Winery in Sanger CA. It is owned by good friends but I don't expect much from the menu.

zazzles, hpeterson1951, jamescat1, thanks for the well wishes for my parrot. I have been with him almost every minute today, except when I ate. I gave him a bowl of yummy fruits and veggies. He did eat those enthusiastically. He always does. Zazzles, we definitely will take him to the vet if he worsens or doesn't improve soon. Luckily, we take him to a special animal hospital that has vets on duty 24/7, even on holidays like Christmas day. jamescat1, the soup sounds delicious! Tomatoes are my absolute favorite healthful food, and always have been. I eat them pretty much every single day of the week. I'm glad that my father always grows them in the summer.

I’m in. Breakfast has been eaten and tracked. The dishwasher is full and running. I’m headed out to get in a workout. Most important, the reset button has been pushed. Moving into the day smiling and aiming for blue.

cyndee , hope the issues with your parrot pass quickly and he is okay! hpeterson1951 , you are CHEATING with the Bobcat, LOL!!! Good afternoon. Cranky mood persists but there are reasons so it's not coming down on me out of nowhere. This too shall pass, I guess. Too hot to mess with anything outside right now. If I do anything in this kind of heat I do it in the relative cool of the morning or evening. A/C is on and I made a multi-bean salad this morning, enough to feed troops. That will tide me over for a few days at least. The only thing I really really wanted today was a blueberry scone with a nice hot cup of coffee. Not the leaden scones that seem to dominate markets and bakeries these days but a flaky buttery buttermilk scone with a crunchy sweet top, made with fresh blueberries, fragrant with lemon zest, warm from the oven, with real butter. In other words, a scone made by yours truly. So yeah, I made scones. I was brave enough to enter them in the recipe analyzer on MFP and was pleasantly surprised---161 calories! Of course the tablespoon of butter added another 100 calories but the whole thing was well worth it. Made some fresh coffee and yes, I ate only one. Heavenly and it cheered me up somewhat. The other eight are waiting to cool and then I will wrap them, maybe freeze a few. Portion control! Wishing all a peaceful day. KOKO.

Tomatoes are my absolute favorite healthful food, and always have been. I eat them pretty much every single day of the week. I'm glad that my father always grows them in the summer. I modified a Cook's Illustrated recipe. You roast halved cherry tomatoes with unpeeled garlic and shallot about 15 minutes at 350. Then cool it and process it in a blender or food processor, peeling the garlic first. Put in a container. Add an equal amount of uncooked tomatoes to the blender with 2 teaspoons tomato paste, 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika, cayenne, salt and pepper to taste and 2 Tablespoons olive oil. The original recipe called for 6T olive oil. Blend or process well and add to the roasted tomatoes. You can add one teaspoon of sherry wine vinegar if desired. I add more of the seasonings because you don't want it to taste like you are just eating chopped up tomatoes. Because we have so many tomatoes, I use about 4 lbs total in the recipe but it called originally for 2 cups each. HUGE TIP: Roast tomatoes on parchment paper and put the garlic peel on it when the tomatoes are in the blender. The only things you need to clean are your blender, one teaspoon and one tablespoon. I have a Vitamix that is cleaned with a few drops of soap and about one cup water and pulsed a few times then rinsed several times. That's all.
