Hi All,
Do you remember me? It's 67 and partly cloudy, high just 81, wind is from the south at 2 mph, and the humidity is 60%.
The past six weeks have been busy, took a trip to Hawaii, Japan, and back to Hawaii before coming home. Jet lag took a while to get over, then gradually got back into a routine. I got home on the 13th of June and on the 15th I noticed the basement was a bit damp, but thought nothing about it, but on Sunday the 16th I had about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water in the basement. Called $99 Rooter and they tried to clear things but needed a camera to see what was blocking things. Monday $99 Rooter came and sent a camera down and discovered a big crack in the pipe; contacted the HOA Management Company and still waiting to hear back, but decided to get the pipe fixed. Friday the 21st called to schedule a day and time to get the situation taken care of and they came out that day. Project finished on Monday and the boys were able to plant their hand prints in the cement. Attended a homeowners meeting on Tuesday and still not answer so I started ccing the Manager's supervisor. Then this past Friday I discovered a DEAD RAT next to my porch that I hadn't seen before and no body noticed or if they did they didn't day anything, so had to take care of that. Too much excitement for this gal. Still haven't heard back about the sewer, but our Management Company manager is not happy that I'm including her assistant in my emails, but since she isn't doing anything and/or delegating the work to her assistant I thought she should be part of the email chain so she gets the information from me and not from the manager who will either ignore me or not provide all or correct information regarding a situation. Plus the manager is a LIAR!
Ok now that I've vented.
Today will be spend picking up the boys from gymnastics and going to my brother's for dinner because my older brother and niece are in town. This is the brother who doesn't consider me part of the family because he was supposed to notify his side of the family regarding his daughter's (my niece) college graduation. I am going because I'm sure dad will be wondering about whether or not I'll be there.
Still need to make three birthday cards (one for last month and one for today) and a Father's Day card.
Doris, I did get Hannah's thank you card and I love it!
Will think of a name for this month (maybe). Have a grand day and may you find something to make you smile today not matter how big or small that something may be.
Linda

Waylon is one tired dog. Guess he got worn out yesterday! We had a three and half hour power outage after a strong wind came through. Damaged some power lines according to Com Ed. At least it was during the day, so I had enough light to do some reading on my Kindle. Yes, I do remember the trays on the car - my first job was as car hop at A&W. I didn't have to roller skate, but the uniform was black shorts or pants and a white blouse with the A&W vest. I hate to think how many of those trays I carried out to cars. Salary was 50 cents an hour plus tips. I made pretty good tips because I got most of the family cars - the other girls want to flirt the teenage boys.

So glad you are back home, Linda. What a mess you have had.
I lived in the country so getting to experience the car hop etc. was rare. There was not one in the small farm town so one had to go into the county seat to do anything like that. Nancy, I made 50 cents an hour on a poultry farm. No tips, but they did serve us our lunch.
Phyl, I haven't seen a car hop on roller skates in ages. Sonic car hops used to do that.
Cat, I love that rooster picture.
Connie, I don't see steps to that pool either.
Doris, glad no uninvited guests at your door. That was creepy the other day.
Made it to Silver Sneakers. Not many in class today. No class the rest of the week. Trainer's grandfather died in New Mexico. Just as well there won't be class. The gym was about dead today.

I had dates in that 1958 Chevy at the car hop place and outdoor movie. Yep, memories!
I heard the thunder word for later today!
Hi, Linda! You need a sage cleansing of the house. How are the double R’s?

Cat, I got married in 1958. In July 59 I delivered a stillborn baby girl.
My brother used to restore Chevies. 57s were his speciality.

hi, our neighbor boy Corey had s 56 or 57 Chevy and had it restored. neighbors were telling him how nice it looked. course I couldn't say but go along with everybody.
I wanted to say you ruined it. it was pretty green and white before. he had the whole car painted maroon. the interior was either the same color or black. we use to have a pink and white 56 chevy. that was don's. he thought the color was sharp. fun with friends phyl.

Lost my post that I started this morning. That's OK. I talked about some stuff that's not relevant now.
DH went to what was suppose to be a kidney study evaluation this morning. He texted me to say he's too old for it. Why didn't they check his records before they asked him about it? He had to leave early & couldn't eat after midnight. He'll be fine but seems to me it was a error that could have been avoided. The nurse in me is talking now.
We had rain overnight. I will share it with you Lucy, since you didn't get any. There was an inch & half in the rain gauge this morning. The sun is out now & I just turned the AC on again. Cooled down enough last night that we didn't need it. I had the windows open until it started raining.
Oldest DS is coming today. He will stay overnight too. He's on vacation this week & he had no big plans. Company is always welcomed - especially family.
Did some cleaning this morning otherwise nothing exciting happening here.
Linda, I didn't forget you! What a trip you had. I would be tired after that & then you had the water problems. That sounds like it was a real headache - an Excedrin headache. Remember those ads?
Yes I remember the root beer stands & car hops. We would go sometimes when the girls were small. That was easier then going to a restaurant. There is one here close to the campground. You can eat inside or the car hops will serve you at your car. We've gone there a couple times but always ate inside. The inside is all 50's décor. Root beer floats have sort of gone by the wayside along with the root beer stands. They were always such a treat.
How about outdoor movies too? There is one of them here also. When dating DH & I went a few times but I think he got upset cause I would sleep through the movie. It was a waste of money for him to pay for me to sleep! I still fall asleep if he has a movie on TV. Some things never change!
Phyl, I read the partners thread last night. Some of the stuff Harriet talk about was greek to me. I know nothing when it comes to WWs new terminology & have no desire to learn it. What's the purpose of changing? Maybe to confuse old folks like me:)

Marlene, keep the rain. I want to mow when the shade gets over late this afternoon. I hear distant thunder. That is very unthoughtful calling DH in when he does not qualify.
DH loved root beer. Not me. He preferred Fords. Can't remember ever having a Chevy. Dad liked Chevys. Brother that restored them enjoyed doing that and made extra money. Now he is into making furniture and selling it at the flea market in Canton. My son likes Fords over Chevys. He is trying to fix up his old Ford truck to sell. Shade tree mechanic.

Marlene, Think what her leader was telling her some of the things that were free are no longer free now. sounds like they would give you a freedom if you were out with an illness for along time. that is no more.even it they were 12 pounds over their goal they did not charge. that is no longer.
my understanding is ltm wi the first time of the month you attend if you are over goal you now pay for every week.remember when you only paid once..
so what they are saying ,the weigh in e tools and monthly pass could cost you 75 a month.
not sure if you still get e tools with the monthly pass or not.
think you have to pay for the phone app. did not want the phone app. not sure on that one. I did not want they a have a new computer system so there are somethings they can not do now.
I have a friend who goes and said they got rid of the paper trackers. now it is online,or phone or their journal.
I quit February 1 and got charged for the whole month. when I called about it she said did you read our polices? it is in the ices .I SAID WHO reads polices when they want to quit a group?
they don't focus so much on weight. they are talking about our mental health ,emotional heath, eating right and I don't know what else.
I LOVE BECKY THE LEADER.GOT SO MEETINGS WERE NOT COMFORTABLE FOR ME.
they are getting so far away from what we know ww is.weight watchers is now wellness works. oh yeah? why have so many members quit, stock is down.
ok I know there will be a couple here who may give me slack. so be it. phyl

Got a shower. I used it as an excuse not to mow. It did cool the air. Bearly and I got in our walk. I will check back later, but for now: Good Evening.

Hello Fun Lovers!
Welcome back, Linda! What a mess you came home to!
Marlene, I agree that whoever recommended the study should have checked the age specifics before sending your husband to interview.
The car in the photo closely resembled a Pontiac that my parents had -- I think it was a '55. It was that color.
DH and I really liked the hamburgers at our local A&W. I thought maybe they used soy sauce as a seasoning, but haven't been able to find that specific taste with any seasoning. Would love to know what they used. Loved those "Mama Burgers," "Papa Burgers," and "Baby Burgers." We have a tiny "baby" A&W root beer mug that we got for DS when he was small.
There is still a drive-in theater in the closest town to The Parents' House.
We've had a big day. Left home at 9:30 a.m. and arrived back about 7 p.m. Took a look at the farmhouse, had lunch at the restaurant across from The Parents' House, and visited Mom. DH took Dad's pickup and drove to his family farm. He bought some really nice tomatoes (hardly any seeds) from the Amish along with a head of cabbage. I was at TPH with two fans aimed on me until he came back so we could head home. Clearly, the air conditioning isn't working.
See you tomorrow! ~~Molly

Beautiful out now. Nice temp too. Took Bearly out for his last time. Now we are ready for Kathie's tuck in and see what kind of blankets she made.
