All this talk about immigration raids, he can't possibly be so naive as to think these will not end in violence. Or maybe he does. More division. Or maybe, since he can't start a war with another country, a civil war will be his goal. Then, of course, he can "save" us by calling it off at the last second. It's just so stupid all around.

I got a laugh out of my "word of the day" email because it describes Trump perfectly: hamartia noun ha·mar·tia | \ ˌhä-ˌmär-ˈtē-ə \ Definition of hamartia : TRAGIC FLAW
History and Etymology for hamartia Greek, from hamartanein to miss the mark, err

MEDIA 07/07/2019 11:10 pm ET Updated 15 minutes ago Trump Rages At Fox News, Says It’s Now Worse Than ‘Fake News CNN’...HUFF POST
Ahhhh, he's mad at his fave network. I suppose like a kid on the playground when things don't go his way, he will take his ball, & go home & declare he won't play with them anymore .
He said he wanted the press to go down & see "some" detention centers. I was hoping there would be a flood of press at the doors to every detention center this morning. Call his bluff before he gets a chance to order the detention centers cleaned & cleared "before" letting the press in.

I think he just enjoys chaos. It somehow makes him feel powerful to create it, and I think he likes to try and push it right up to the brink and then suddenly pull back. That gives him some kind of a thrill, and makes his idiotic followers think he's such a strong leader. It's like playing Russian roulette. Sooner or later when you pull the trigger the bullet is going to fire, and we will be the ones splattered on the wall.

According to this evil moron, those people in detention centers are happy to be there. They're being treated so well. They're actually very lucky to be locked in his cages.
When my DH escaped from Eastern Europe as a young man he actually was held in a detention center for a few weeks in Germany. It was a far cry from staying at the Ritz, and I felt badly for him hearing his stories about it. But he was treated a million times better than the way we are treating these people. There is no comparison that can possibly be made. I am so ashamed of the way we are treating these people, and feel so helpless to do anything about it.

Maybe DT needs to spend a day (or an hour) in one "for realz!" and see how happy and lucky he feels then.

Trump's approval rating at highest level ever: 44%. He has had the lowest presidential approval ratings in the modern era. However, 65% think his behavior is "not presidential". Guess that doesn't matter to many folks any more.

That rating of 65% thinking his behavior is not presidential gives me a bit of hope for 2020. I just hope he doesn't do anything crazy when it comes to Iran, or North Korea. One night last week I read something about a U.S. plane being in Iranian airspace and boy, that worried me.

I keep trying to understand how as a country overall we could have sunk so low. I don't know why I continue to try and understand it. It's clearly a futile task. But he couldn't have done this all by himself. This vileness within people must have been there lurking under the surface before he ever rode down the escalator. So does that mean that we were never the people I thought we were? Is this just an aberration? How did this become "us"? How did he know this was there lurking within people to be tapped into?
Note to Secret Service: If we ever get him back up in that golden penthouse in the sky, please remove all escalators and elevators from the building. Even block off the stairs from going that high. Keep him in his gilded cage never to be seen or heard from again.

JA said, in reference to the women's soccer team asking for equal pay for the female athletes, that its all about the numbers. Pretty much saying that women's sports aren't all that popular in his opinion. So, if its really all about the numbers for him, then with his low approval rating, he should get paid according .....much less than other Presidents...;_)...His travel expenses should be less, his executive decisions should be less, etc.....
Unfortunately, I think that even once JA is gone, we will still have all those that supported his hatred & racism just because he made it OK, & we will have the next generation of Trumps keeping the racism & hatred going. Unless, we have a President, Congress, Judges & other local officials who will crack down & enforce the laws against the hate that JA said was OK, we are just in for more of the same. It has always been there to some degree or another, but the way most of us were raised, is not the way the current generations for the most part are being raised. Its just a whole different world out there now than when I was growing up. It really scares me what kind of world my grandkids are growing up in. I just hope my kids & theirs remember the values I have tried to instill in them despite what's going on everywhere.

WASHINGTON — Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Immigration and Customs Enforcement have turned state driver’s license databases into a facial-recognition gold mine, scanning through hundreds of millions of Americans’ photos without their knowledge or consent, newly released documents show....Boston Globe

. . . I just hope my kids & theirs remember the values I have tried to instill in them despite what's going on everywhere. Linda, there's a FB meme that I see often and probably all of you do too. It says something to the effect, "Happiness is when you realize that your kids have grown up to be good people." I have to believe that the values we have instilled will remain and they are being passed down to our DGKs who in turn will someday pass them down to their children. It's our only hope for the future. But I'm afraid you are right that not everyone grew up with the same moral value system, and unfortunately those are being passed down to their children and grandchildren. We may never be able to put the genie back in the bottle now that it has escaped.

www.huffpost.com/entry/nancy-pelosi-doesnt-know-who-the-democratic-party-is-anymore_n_5d235049e4b01b83473a51adI just don't find this helpful when the Democratic Party is in a fight to remove JA from office, either by impeachment or by voting him out. I may not like the way some of these younger Congresswomen approach & talk about certain issues, but, they were elected, so there are many out there who do agree with their stance. I don't think it helps for the Dems to go after each other in this way. I think Pelosi was more than harsh in her assessment of the 4 that she named. I think they are bringing many issues to the forefront to be talked about & if they somehow offend Pelosi's standards, & she starts publicly criticizing them it just kind of turns me off. What do you think? Now is not the time for infighting. But then what the heck do I know...LOL

I agree Linda that the absolute last thing we need is in-fighting. They all need to start focusing on the most important goal--defeating Trump. Because without that nothing else is going to matter.
