Deb, that's cute 😊
It's going to be hot today. I have plenty to do inside.
Hubby is working from home again today. He'll go in tomorrow, then off for a nice long weekend. We have a nice one planned. Hopefully it should be helpful for us.

Not much going on here. I really should go into school for some de-cluttering, but I just don't feel like it.
I have this feeling that if I'm not doing some kind of school work or professional development each day, I'm just being lazy.
Having to "earn my keep" and "prove my worth" is something I've struggled with my whole life. Those were things mom and Dad used to say to me constantly. I fight the feeling of being useless constantly.
Going to do some reading on a new curriculum I want to use and then some housework.
May take a nap later

I'm in. Good morning all. Love the cartoon Deb. After more than a month of waiting, I finally got my new glasses. Lol now I can see a few spots that I missed on the counter, windows and floors We've been gifted another sunny day and I'm meeting my cousin for lunch al fresco. Later, I'm hoping to finish painting a really old pedestal sundial that's out in the front mulch bed. Afterwards, I have to log some time on the treadmill. Tonight's dinner will is a summer salad with chopped egg and corn on the cob. Hope everyone has a good day

Good morning. I’m in.
{{{Heather}}}
I was up earlier than usual so I used the time to make the Blueberry Biscones. Just enjoyed one with a cup of Siggi’s FF Skyr.
Have a great day.

Good morning all! It's warm and humid in Houston so I know it's JULY! LOL! DH is mowing this morning while the sun is out. We may get more rain this afternoon. He's having more oral surgery tomorrow morning, . I'm making jello and bean soup so DH will have soft foods to eat tomorrow afternoon. We'll grill some burgers/hot dogs for the 4th but we have no other plans for this week. Waving hi to all!

Laugh at me! I wanted to feed my son’s pets before my manicure so I showered, dressed and turned on the coffee on my way out. The switch would go on and off 5 times. Told DH I would pick up coffee at Starbucks. He called to say he had gotten it to work but he didn’t watch long enough. There was no coffee or water in the pot. So that’s my day ... Pets are fed and I’m getting the pedicure with no other major responsibilities. (((Heather))) you are a caring responsible adult no longer your parents’ child pick up a really engaging book something like a good mystery, a hilarious writer or sordid romance. Do you have any hobbies? I knit in the summer and know Deb does crochet. Trust me you will be better at your job if you truly relax during your vacation ❤️ Dinner was awesome last night. Tonight it is grilled eggplant with an herbed yogurt tomato topping with corn on the cob and roasted cold tomato soup. Tomorrow is an Iranian chicken thigh recipe from Saturday’s WSJ . I’m Middle Eastern this summer.

hpeterson1951, I agree with jamescat1. There is a point where, as an adult, you really need to detach from childhood woes or they may consume you. It's not easy but sometimes you just have to save yourself and realize that a dysfunctional childhood does not have to rule your grownup years. Good evening. Took a ride to LL Bean in Connecticut and stopped at Trader Joe's to stock up on some favorites. The TJ's in Paramus NJ is closer but I avoid Paramus whenever possible and the ride to Danbury is much nicer. DH likes the jeans from LLB and he's lost some weight and needed to get a smaller size so we took the ride. We brought a cooler full of ice for the TJ's purchases. I love their Bambino pizzas, chicken soup wontons, Thai chili veggie burgers, and quite a few of their other frozen lighter entrees. The cooler was overflowing, lol. It seems I only go to TJ's about twice a year and always leave wishing there was one closer to us. The temp and humidity are both up---sticky out there. Tomorrow I will get up at the crack of dawn, slam down some coffee, and attack some miscellaneous outside chores. Bought a temporary trellis for the climbing rose, Japanese beetle traps need to be put out, repotting a couple of plants I started, planting a few more in some naked spots in the garden, and all sorts of things need to be trimmed and tidied up. I should scrub the porch railings too. Have a good rest of the day, all.

We all carry "voices" in our head from things we heard when we were children. How we react to those statements determine if they impact our lives as adults. hpeterson1951, I hope you honestly assess the life you're living now and can put aside things your mother has said to you. You are a wonderful teacher and deserve some time for yourself this summer. (((Hugs to all)))
