This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it

Good morning
First thanks for the prayers and thoughts for my family. Yesterday was hard. I cried a lot and keep my niece, sister, other niece and brother-n-law in my heart. It has been hard for my whole family. My niece has a village holding her up. She is a strong woman. Had such a special bond with her daughter.
So here we are another month. I did so good in May, blew June and will get back on track for July.
cj, good for you continuing to make good choices. How many more days in your challenge?
dotren, I checked out the crackers. Do you get them from Amazon? I can't have wheat thins in the house.
Starting to feel better. I didn't cough the night away and got some sleep. Going to be another hot day. I miss my walks.
Waving to all and hoping you are doing good on your plans.

Hello! sunrose49 , that has to be the worst thing in the world. My heart and prayers go out to your family cj59 , have you seen a cracker called "Thinables"? Here's a link for reference: thinables crackers . I can not keep them in the house because I will eat the whole bag! The cheddar ones taste like cheeze-its. The Stella Doro cookies, the assorted pack? I used to love those! Especially the anise ones that had a licorice taste lol. Great with tea. My thumb is much better wearing the splint/brace now. I take it off during the day for a while because my thumb joint was getting stiff from it being held in the same position so long. But I can do things with it off and have a little of my "pinch" back, I can take my earrings off anyway. I did get some CBD cream for it. I don't know if it's helping, but my skin has never been softer on my hand lol. As far as I can tell, it's something called De Quervain's Tendinosis . I think I actually had this surgery, and carpal tunnel surgery together, back in '86. I had surgery on my wrist AND thumb to release the tendons from the sheath. It didn't really cross my mind that the thumb is not typically part of the carpal tunnel surgery until I started reading about De Quervain's last week.

sunrose49, I get them from netrition.com or amazon, since amazon's prices can really vary day to day, when I want them I go with the cheapest source lol. And I usually have stuff in my netrition basket anyway

Hi everyone! Happy July!
I've finished my crazy week and I went away for the weekend. I did not track while I was away, but I did add most of it up once I got home. I wanted to just try to be reasonable but enjoy myself and I accomplished that, although I am way over for the week already, even with all of the extra points I give myself. I'm trying not to worry too much about it; this is life and there will be times like that.
Back to my regular crazy schedule this week. Trying to catch up on work and get back into the groove.
I'm just going to try to keep doing my best for this week. I did pop on the scale and nothing changed, so that it encouraging.
I'm seriously considering canceling my gym membership. I'm finding that it's just too much money considering how little I use it. I like to have the option to use it, but not for what I'm paying for it. I think that I can look for ways to be active without it.

Hello Everyone sunrose - Thanks for starting the July thread. I'm glad your niece has the family to support her, I'm sure that means everything to her. I hope you have a great on plan July. DotRen - I hope the brace will help you some and you'll get more mobility and lessen the pain. I had some carpal tunnel pain back about 10 years ago while I was still working and had to wear the wrist braces while I was sleeping, fortunately that resolved it and I didn't need surgery. Hope you don't need any more surgery. I have not seen those crackers and I'd probably eat them all at once too As it is, I have to be careful with the sesame breadsticks. wwlurker - That's great that you didn't see any change on the scale after being away. I hope you enjoyed the break. I know I'd never go to a gym to exercise, but it does seem like it could be a waste of money if you can't get there very often. I think today is Day 33 of the 100 Day challenge and I'm doing pretty well - at least I have $33 saved. Some days are tough to get through, but not having any junk food in the house really helps. I just don't have much desire to binge on healthy food. I just keep wishing it was easier to do this, and I'm sure you can all relate. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are having a good day I ate over my "allotted" calories today but it was all on healthy food, so I'm trying not to think that I did something "bad or off program". I actually think that eating the same, or close to the same, calories will stall my weight loss in the long run. I can tell my body gets used to that amount of food and then just slows down the weight loss. So maybe one or two higher calorie days a week will be good.

Good morning and Happy 4th of July
DotRen, thanks for the cracker info. Glad the brace seem to help your thumb.
WWlurker, you are doing good and seem to be getting back on track. Good for you :-)
cj, I agree on the eating the same doesn't help with loss. I think we need to shake things up ;-)
Off to the store. It is so hot here today.

Hello!
I realized that I was supposed to be doing the Beck book review, so I've been getting into that.
Last night I ate more than I had intended to - I'm trying not to feel guilty about it. Mostly it was poor planning which resulted in no dinner, substituted with night time eating. I could write a ton about the hows and whys of last night, but I don't think that's helpful. I just need to recognize that I was feeding something other than physical hunger and work on slowing down the thought process that leads to that.
I'm 45 WPs in the hole (10 of that is from last night). I was hoping to keep it where it was, but I'm still trying really hard not to just stop tracking for the week, even if I keep going over. I do think that it will all even out if I just keep at it.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today sunrose - I agree on the shaking it up thing. After 33 days of eating lower calories I was just at a breaking point. I do need to plan my week better and have a few higher calorie days. Hope your shopping went well. wwlurker - Hope you can find some aspects of the Beck process that will help you. I know there are several things I learned in the reviews I did that I still do today to help myself. Tracking is something I try to do every day because at least I'm being realistic with myself about what and how much I'm eating. Even when I was off track for several months, I still tracked until the point where I thought it was just crazy to write down all the junk food I was eating! But maybe it did help me to get back on plan. I'm eating better today and trying to stay on track.

Good morning! cj59, I've been trying to keep up the tracking as well to make sure that I'm aware of what I'm eating and how much I'm eating at night. It's tough and discouraging to see how far into the hole I am right now, though. Today is my last day of this week. I'm going to do the best I can tonight but I'm looking forward to not seeing that negative number anymore. Last night I ate way too much bruschetta and garlic bread late at night and I'm feeling it today. I did the skipping dinner thing again. I woke up feeling hungover! I'm not as young as I used to be and I really feel the sodium (and fat and refined carbs, lol) now. I remember being in my early 20s and my husband and I would order all kinds of things (pizza, garlic cheese sticks, nachos, falafel platters, etc.) at all hours of the night and eat them in bed with no repercussions! I can't imagine doing that now. But, we were young, had high metabolisms and walked everywhere we went because we didn't own a vehicle. How times have changed! Hope everyone is doing well!

Good morning
wwlurker, well at least you are tracking. I have not been doing that. To me it is a good visual of what you are doing. I could eat lots of stuff when I was younger too. Ugh...lol
cj, good for you on the tracking! You ladies make me want to get back at it.
Waving to all
I cooked some fresh green beans for lunch with scallops. I need to get back into doing that. I am still very bad at night not making dinner.

Hello Everyone wwlurker - I'm glad you'll get a reset tomorrow. That is one of the things I liked about doing any version of WW - it was working on it for a week at a time and if you had a not so great week, you could start all over again. It doesn't work as well doing that with calorie counting. sunrose - Your fresh green beans sound good. I always try to make some of those each summer too. Like both of you I could eat just about anything when I was younger, not so much know that I'm older I'm doing pretty well but starting to have those feelings of it not being fair that I have to do this when it seems like everyone else has it easy, blah, blah, blah So I'm trying to fight them and keep working towards 100 days of being on track. I have been successful at having less sugar in my diet, so that's been a good thing. I missed my hot tea and sugar for the first few weeks, but I've pretty much adjusted to not having it now. And I find I don't crave sugary things as much either. Hope everyone checking in is doing well and that you all have a great weekend!

Good morning
cj, it is hard to give up sugar, but you are doing awesome! I too fight the "not fair" thing regarding food. But I try to look at it like I am taking care of my body. It doesn't always work, but I keep trying.
I have my WW meeting this morning. The scale is starting to come back down. The green beans were good yesterday. I always like cooking them with sodium free bullion and onions. I had scallops with them.
Waving to all...Happy Saturday
