well I have the crochet part of the purse nearly done. I have just probably an inch of the strap and then the edging around the top so it will take only a couple minutes.I had to stop working on it for awhile to do some other things that needed done. Then, since I'm planning on lining it I have to find some appropriate fabic and make the lining then sew it in and that will be finished.
Ginny, I hope you did or do get some crafting in so you can just relax and concentrate on that for awhile.
Phyl, you're sure right to tell Delona to get her thumb checked. Even if it does turn out to be something like arthritis it's best to check those things
CJ I hope you're having a good day and it's not too hot there.
Betty do come back more often
Sue, hope the water problem is completely solved by now.
Gonna go finish the crochet part of the purse...see you later. While I'm rummaging for the fabric I need I may as well dig out bday presents to go with the things I've crocheted for dgd.

Hi crafters.
This morning we went for breakfast with friends. Always good to see them. Tomorrow we'll meet some others for breakfast and possibly see DH brother and others for supper. Really shouldn't be eating out so often but seems like we always have these plans close together.
Having lots of knee pain today. Ended up taking a stronger pain med which seems to help. Someone said maybe I have a sprain or twisted knee or even a torn meniscus. It really does not seem like the last time I had a arthritis flare up. Pain is more localized. Hope I can sleep tonight.
Have the blanket ready to send, just have to get to the post office. Trying to decide on my next project. Actually would rather be outside. Have to get my bird feeders filled again. Poor little birds are getting hungry.

Good afternoon,
Phyl, of course Ruthโs advice is medically more sound than mine, but I agree with her....Delona should have the thumb investigated by a doctor. Better safe than sorry.
Betty, congrats on finishing the blanket!! Thats always exciting, packing up something we have worked on so hard for shipment. Hope you got out there to feed your birds. Mine usually make a racket unless the feeder is full.
Ruth, hope you finished the rest of the purse and that you have something good to line the purse with. It would sure be nice if you did not need to buy additional fabric.
All is going well.....this is just the calm before the storm. Looks like Dh does not want me to go to BOM meeting, will get the material from my friend who is going up there tonight. ๐

Heard from Meg!!!!
Hi Ginny, I have not been knitting and need to finish 2 afghans. At the moment I seem to have lost interest but I will get back and join you on the thread. At the moment my balance is really off so I do everything very slowly. I can still drive but I don't go anywhere much except Dr. apts.
I hope you are well and you keep busy crafting . How are your grand children? I am sure they keep you busy. The latest thing Devin is interested in is going to the bouncy place. It's a big room and the floor is all trampolined and the kids can bounce all over the place.I took Devin yesterday and the place was packed.
Thank you for thinking of me. Margaret (MegK31)

Betty, I'm sorry to hear your knees hurt so much. I'd say see your doctor but if your's is like the one my dh and I go to not much would be done. Still it's probably a good idea.
Ginny, well to appease our anxiety ridden spouses we sometimes give up doing things just to keep the peace. Sorry you won't be getting to your meeting but I'm glad you havce your friend to catch you up on everything once the wedding and all are past. And I'm SO GLAD you heard from Meg! Thanks for letting us know. I'm looking forward to seeing her back here.
Very hot day here today. I'm sitting with my fan on doing some crocheting. I did finish all the crochet part of the hat except the weaving in and haven't looked for the fabric yet after all but in all that fabric I have I'm sure I'll find something I can use. As you said, I sure wouldn't want to have to buy a piece. It won't be easy finding an appropriate one since this Mandala ombre is like all Mandala and is mulit colored so it won't probably look good to put in a patterned fabric. I started a hat last night and finished it this morning before I got busy and did my "chores"

Thanks for posting Meg's message, Ginny!
We just had a sudden thunder shower with trees bending in the wind. Now it's gone!
The sprinklers are going to be fixed tomorrow. It sure is nice to have full water pressure back in the house! I've gotten a little behind on laundry!
Quilting was good fun this morning.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well Thanks for posting the message from Meg, I'm glad to hear she's doing pretty well. It's been warm and humid here and we had thunderstorms this afternoon with about 2 inches of rain. I'm hoping it drained alright and didn't come in around my basement door since I'm not planning on going down there to check it until tomorrow. I hate going in the basement My knees have been bothering me some this week. Being overweight for so many years really hurt them. I know I could probably get some injections or something like that to help, but I'm not one to do that. I just hope they don't get to the point that I can't walk at all. I haven't done any crafting, but hope to sometime soon. I really want to finish the canning jar quilt this summer. Take care everyone!

Good evening again,
Yes, Becky- I am so very sorry to hear that your knee is so uncomfortable. It absolutely stinks when pain is so very bad that sleep is impossible. Its frustrating and just seems to make the pain worse as the sleepless night goes on. Not sure if you have seen a doctor regarding the problem, but perhaps its a good idea. I have a knee that acts up from time to time and an ace knee brace keeps me from irritating it too much in the day, so I have less pain at night. Of course a doctors opinion is best....hope you rest well tonight.
Ruth, well, I am hoping that somewhere in your stash is a solid fabric for that purse lining- something that will blend right in and be perfect. It sure stinks when you have all that fabric and cannot find something that will work out. Drink lots of water!! Do you have an airconditoner? I just checked out your weather and its so hot- seems like just a week ago you were talking about snow. THe good part seems to be that your nights cool down quickly and make it into the 50โs- which can cool down a house a bit.
I modified Megโs email a wee bit to remove some slightly personal information....but wanted everyone to know she is ok and hopes to join us soon.
Well, I heard from pastors wife who went to the BOM meeting tonight, and she said that this months blocks are not too hard, with no new techniques. Pfew! THink we might try to get together this week and she will show me what I need to know that is new.
And I got 25 minutes of machine time in. Both DD and I have more comfortable shoes we bought for dancing at the wedding. I had some leftover glitzy gold fabric and quickly made a drawstring sack for them, so I can carry the shoes in and out- the bag will even match my dress. that is my crafting for the day. Ha ha ha
Hi to Phyl, CJ and Sue- who I have not chatted with today. G

Hey CJ- glad you are getting in some time on the mason jar quilt! Well, you have done some thinking about it.....and hopefully will get working on it soon. I too hope that the basement drained out well and that you are nice and dry down there. These hot and humid days are no fun. Same weather here where I live.
Sue- glad the sprinkler is getting repaired! Hope its not a pricey fix. Glad you got to quilting....a nice break for you.

Good morning!
In a sea of insanity, I am - with the Lords help- keeping my head above water. Got an hour by hour game plan for what has to happen in the next 2 days. Off to a good start this morning. Gosh it was great to hear from Meg, and although she might not be feeling 100% she is doing ok. Think we all miss her sweet personality.
I showed Dd my 25 minute gold sack to carry our shoes. Its not my best piece of sewing and I used a light taupe thread on the metallic gold fabric (so the thread does not show much) but its done and will work. I might change the ribbon draw string today.....but other than that its fine for the purpose. Lousy crafting but crafting it is.
Hope to stop in later on, but today is busy. Take care all Ginny

Ginny, I'll be praying that all goes smoothly and your daughter and you both have a beautiful day tomorrow.the bag sounds like a great idea and you are so smart to take more comfortable shoes. Is there a traditional rehearsal dinner tonight?
Yes our low nightime temperatures are both a blessing and a problem. At night we can let in some cool air. It doesn't really cool the house much though and it also keeps us from being able to grow certain things that need more warmth during the night.

Well they did finally pick up my garbage yesterday and today I got my truck back. I hope it continues to work now. They finished it Tues and let it sit there since and tried it this morning and it started so hopefully that will do the trick. Pretty hot here today and humidity is higher than usual for here. Yesterday was only 11% and today is 34. I know that sounds pretty low to you all but it sure makes a difference in the comfort level. The pattern for this week's hat in the CAL was posted today. It's a herringbone stitch hat. I've seen it before but have never done it so I tried it and had a hard time because my yarn was "splitty" so I changed to another yarn and it's going better now.I think it would have been easier though if I had done all the increase rows in just hdc first then went to the herringbone. I'm only on row three so far

Hello Crafters Ruth - I'm glad you got your truck back and hope it keeps working. Also glad your garbage was finally picked up. Good luck with the new hat.\\ Ginny - Hope all goes well with the wedding, I can't imagine the amount of stress that is involved. But I'm sure it will be a beautiful day for everyone. I ran some errands today and I'm tired tonight. I didn't sleep well last night and was up until 5:00 A.M. I've never had insomnia like I've had a few times in the last year. Not sure what is causing it. I'm sure I should probably quit watching TV and reading on my Kindle earlier in the evening, but I like to do those things at that time. Hopefully tonight I'll sleep well. Take care everyone and have a great weekend!

Have a wonderful day today, Ginny! I married hb in the backyard ! We were going to go to the cabin because the meadow was full of shooting stars and glacier lilies, but it snowed the night before!
The sprinklers are working, but he'll be back on Monday to finish. The pipe didn't stand a chance. The problem was roots from the aspen trees. It will happen again, but hopefully, not for several years!
The temperature is headed for 90 today. I need to roll the room air conditioner into the bedroom to cool things off this afternoon.
