Good afternoon
Sue, glad that there is a quick fix to the sprinkler problem.... hope you can get the air-conditioner out to stay cool
CJ- hopw you can sleep well tonight. Nothing worse than being off your sleep. Hot weather does not help. Would you consider getting a real book other than a kindle? They say that the blue light of a screen makes sleep more difficult and tricks the body into being awake.
Ruth, glad you got the garbage pick up! About time!!! LIke the herringbone stitch....hope that the hat turns out well.
Busy here.... last night with a traditional rehearsal and dinner went well. Now just gotta start getting ready. time for me to do my make up. Had my hair done this am. I am tired, but doing ok
Take care all Ginny

Ginny, I didn't see your post. Checked this morning and haven't been back. By now the actual wedding ceremony is probably over and maybe pictures are taken too. Now time for the reception. Are you having a large sitdown dinner. I know you're having dancing because you mentioned shoes. This time tomorrow will probably be a little letdown and also a little relief that all is taken care of. Hopefully when your son gets married the brides parents will take care of it all. You'll still have to have a dress, etc, etc, etc and I guess it's tradition for the groom's parents to take care of rehearsal dinner but hopefully that won't be for awhile. I bet you'll be exhaused when you get home tonight. Are they going on a honeymoon?
Sue, I really need one of those room air conditioners. I'm glad they were over and fixed the leak in the irrigation system.
Worked on the herringbone hat all day yesterday and all day today and still haven't got it right. I have one more try started then that's it. If this doesn't work I'm giving up on it completely. It's just not worth anymore time. I could have had 4 other hats done in this amount of time. I also need to get back to the grandchildren's gifts. Lots of birthdays are coming up then there's Christmas.

Hello Crafters Ginny - Glad to hear the rehearsal dinner went well and I hope the wedding today is beautiful. I'll be looking forward to hearing about it. It's hot here today so I've mostly stayed in the house. This morning when I woke up my Internet modem was not working. I tried resetting it and calling the company for a reset but still no luck. Finally I turned it off for about 30 minutes then plugged back in and left it - it finally came back on. This always makes me realize how much the Internet is a part of my daily life. I don't know what it would be like now not to have it. Hope everyone else is doing well and getting in some crafting. Take care everyone!

GOOD MORNING, Well Thursday was an adventure. I don't know what the hell I was thinking.we switched from going Friday to Thursday.I stead of asking Don to find someone to take his place at mass in the am we waited till he got home.the priest was late starting and got long winded.(so what's new with him?)
we picked Nita and Dick up at 10 am and was on our way.I knew the place would be packed. now why did I not think about leaving earlier, for as man y times as I have been to these sales??
took about 2 -1/2 hours to get there.the parking lot was full and the place was crowded.very crowded. I told Don it is 1 pm we need to go eat.we went to the Ponderosa not even 5 minutes from there.
back to the store.still packed and a guy coming outs aid you will be in line for 2 hours. on yeah ladies had carts, baskets and bags full.going in a lady handed us a big red bag.
my first impression they are doing this wrong. they should have the ware house open for the big stuff .no everything was crammed into the store part. the store part has always been like any other quilt shop.
when in may she would have the sewing expo the front of the store had everything a quilt shop has. well it was a quilt shop. then we would go in the back to the warehouse and shop for everything they had and vendors, machines and cabinet and stage show were held theer.
even a employee told Nita they are doing this wrong it is nuts.they should do it like the expo.
we started shopping. there was not one bolt of fabric there. nita was told the fabric sold out in the am.
all I found for myself was 3 fat quarters a artifical fall wreath and a fall decorated lunch bag.I spent 20.17.
niat had a blast she found all kinds of things. she bought 50 batik fat quarters for a 1.50 each and I don't know what else. we stood in line to pay for 1-1/2 hours.
on the way home we stopped at arby's for supper. dropped nita and dick off and we got hom about 8.15.
you would not beileve the stuff women were buying.carts, baskets, bags full of stuff . some of those recipets were very long.
talked to theresa yesterday her son and family live in beaver dam. allison went in the morning and said it wasn't worth it. there was no fabrics for sale.
don asked me when did they start selling ceiling fans?/ I said as far AS i knew never. so that tells me this was more of a liquidation sale type thing sale then the store or the tachoney company closing the store.
nita and I did have fun.phyl

Phyl, I'm glad to hear you had a good time despite the crowds and the wait. I would never be able to do that. Waiting in lines is just way too stressful for me....WAY too stressful. Good to hear that Nita was able to find a lot of things she could use. Ginny, I'm so glad the wedding went well. I hope you got a good rest last night after that very long day. We'll all be looking forward to hearing about it...we want all the details you care to share. CJ, I hope you're keeping cool. Luckily my fan does the trick for me. Well I finally got the herringbone hat.Another person did what I should have done which was to ask the pattern writer what she meant in one place. After that I was able to do the hat just fine. I finished that one this morning...just had a row of sc for the edging to do...and I finished one that I had started with last week's pattern. So now I'm working on a triangle scarf for ds's oldest daughter for her bday and should have that done in no time barring complications. It's only 11 rows. Then I'll decide what I want to work on next because my list is actually much longer than I thought it would be because I forgot a couple things I'm planning on making for Christmas gifts so I need to work on my list as well as the hats. As I mentioned two days were taken up by trying to figure out the herringbone but actually the turning of the rows not the actual stitch. Anyway here's the link to the scarf. My dgd likes earth colors so I'm actually making it in colors of the sea and sky and it does look nice naztazia.com/the-v-scarf/

Ruth, that scarf is magnificent! Are you also going to add charms/shells to it in the v- stitch and ends? Its very classy looking. Glad you are staying cool. When is DGD’s bday? No shock to any of us here that your to-do list is so long. You come up with an amazing number of projects and gifts. Nice to hear that you conquered the herringbone hat!
Phyl, sounds like a long but fun day for you. I admit, all the waiting and disorganization would probably have driven me nuts, but it sounds like you and Nita rolled with the punches well and had a great time despite the chaos.
Everything went well yesterday. Dd looked lovely- Pastors ceremony was short but so effective. He obviously got to know them really well during there premarital sessions....and the sermon reflected that. It simply amazes me what some folks wear to weddings these days. Our son in laws parents looked like slobs, and believe me they have the money . It would not have been too much to ask them to at least try to dress up a little. What a shame. Reception was great, but it ended at 11:30. (Scheduled time). We got home at 1 am- so I am a bit tired.... hope to be in bed in about an hour.
Oh dear, tomorrow is Monday again??? Ginny

Ginny, it sounds like a beautiful wedding. Well as parents of the groom you would think that they would dress very nicely or are they the parents of the other son in law? I'm so glad you had a good day and I hope you can get rested up. Yes tomorrow is Monday again. Time goes by so fast! Well you would think that I would do simple things like find out how much yarn I needed before I started a project. I got a lot done but had about half to go before I realized that the yarn would not be enough. Looked at the pattern and yes I needed twice the amount I have. I can't believe either that I would have bought just one of those skeins. Well you know what happened then. Dh told me I needed to buy more. I told him that I would then have to buy a bit of yarn to make the shipping not be ridiculous in comparison to the yarn price and he told me to go for it so I'm adding even more yarn to my stash. They sell it only on the Love sites...Love Knitting, Love Crocheting, Love Crafts, and there were 32 pages so that took up a lot of my day. Of course then when you click the yarn you want to look at, they have only a few colors and the rest is out of stock. Or the one you would like is not one that's on sale. But I did find some really good ones at a good price. What i bought though was mostly all dk yarn which I presently don't have much of so I needed it The one I needed wasn't on sale but I got it anyway because I guess it was a decent price. I'm going to put a little pendent on the point of the triangle but not on the ends
