Morning all!
This is a daily check-in thread for accountability. The friendship and fun are an added benefit - all are welcome.
I'm in.
I noticed the price of avocados are still going up when I was at the market. I only picked up two this week. Weekend plans are up in the air while engine upgrades and tinkering on the boat will have the hatches up. I'm thinking we may get more done if we stick closer to home. With the sunny forecast however, there's no place I'd rather be than at the shore.
Hope everyone has a good day. Continued prayers for those in the flood zone.

Good morning, everyone!
I'm afraid that I'm still struggling to get back on track given various stressors. Last night was my uncle's viewing and this morning his service. In the past, it's usually only been one day, not two. If it weren't for my father doing poorly, I would have only gone yesterday. It's a little overwhelming seeing so many people I haven't seen for such a long time. Some I didn't fully place, including a couple of my father's first cousins and some town folk. It was embarrassing for me. They looked perplexed when realizing I didn't know who they were at first. It was strange how one person I felt really happy to see was our tax accountant. We gave each other a big hug.
Roads were flooded last night. People were stuck, even on the route I took. I, through major determination, made it home. The weather isn't as bad today.

Doordie - My chief lifeguard just told me that with the south winds we had the past 2 days, the water is freezing! Like 64! So perhaps being close to home isn't the worst idea. Cyndee - Sorry about that. Fortunately I was home when the storms hit. It was pretty bad. I'm in, planned but up in the air about dinner. I have a long hair appointment at 6. There is a mediterranean place next door so I may just get chicken schwarma or falafel.

cyndee , so sorry you are going through rough times right now. (((HUGS))) Good morning. We got some rain yesterday but nothing like the storms to the south of us. Sunny today, not horribly hot but very humid. Yuck. A/C is on. I have the usual gardening and chicken chores but I'm going to let the gardening go until it cools down in the evening. Deadheading and weeding, yay. I'll leave you with this---an Eastern Swallowtail butterfly on my echinacea. KOKO.

I am IN, and for today I am here.
I took time off to work through some of my fickleness issues. I sometimes think that I am all washed up and everyone else is on the right road. I am more settled now.
Good news is that I passed my 2 year anniversary of no smoking and I came back 4 pounds lighter than when I left.
Waving hi, thanks for keeping the door open β€οΈβ€οΈ

Good Morning I'm IN! doordie50 a news report yesterday said avocados have increased 129% in price from last year. 90% come from Mexico and the Mexican and Californian crops have been smaller this year thus forcing prices us. People who invested in avocados are making money The good news is next year's crops should be much bigger. (((Cyndee))) I am so glad you got home safely last night. Don't fret about recognizing people whom you have not been close to and remember you are doing this for your father, not for them who you probably won't see again. reneinitaly great to see you posting. I will be in Florence at the end of September and perhaps we can meet. I think we are there three nights. Got in a morning walk in the shadiest streets possible and ran into my husband and Lily Belle as I was approaching home so he went home and the dog and I walked an extra half mile. 101 today and 105/104 for the weekend. I have the trainer at 9:45 and then will pick up the mail for the club before spending the rest of the day at home. I bought yarn and a new pattern for an afghan yesterday. Read in today's paper about a Heavy Metal Knitting Contest in a small town in Finland where knitters from various countries competed while dancing to music from heavy metal bands. Sounds like a new sport Dinner tonight with friends and then tomorrow morning we are going to a Rotary pancake breakfast as early as possible. Our daughter's Rotary is sponsoring it.

Good morning all! Sounds like everyone is busy this Friday. cyndee , please don't feel bad about not recognizing some of these people. As jamescat1 , said, you may not see them again. reneinitaly , congrats on the 2-year anniversary of no smoking. DH quit 12 years ago and sometimes we calculate how much money we've saved during that time by not buying cigarettes. It's amazing and a little disgusting! fullmahina , love that picture. You really captured the beauty of the butterfly. doordie50 , might be nice to stay home this weekend. That's what we're going to do; I've got to get some things done around here! susiq25679 , enjoy the hair appointment. Falafel sounds good too! jamescat1 , I'm glad you could get your walk in with the heat you're having. With our high humidity, I have to my walks at the mall! (I'm a wuzz!) Have a nice weekend, y'all! Thinking of my friends in the New Orleans area as they wait for Barry to arrive. I'm thankful he didn't come here!

I'm in & just finished yard work. Between the hot/humid days & torrential downpours, it really needed done. Yesterday's downpour cooled the temps off a bit so we got busy this morning. We had flooding in our area but our house is fine. Others weren't so lucky. DH is grilling today so I don't have to worry about dinner. I already have melon cut & veggies ready to go so I can just sit & enjoy. Hope everyone has a nice day! cyndee, I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. It's hard recognizing relatives that you only see occasionally. fullmahina, Love the pic. Thanks for sharing. reneinitaly, It's really nice seeing you back. Congrats on the weight loss & your 2 year anniversary of no smoking. zazzles Do you happen to have the Yes Italian book from WW? It was introduced with Freestyle. I picked it up at Half Price this week. Just wondering if you tried anything that you'd recommend.

Read in today's paper about a Heavy Metal Knitting Contest in a small town in Finland where knitters from various countries competed while dancing to music from heavy metal bands. Sounds like a new sport Now this is my kind of sport!! Had a terrible migraine yesterday-one of the worst I've had in a year or two. Today I just feel like I have a hangover. Head is mildly achy, but I have no energy or desire. I'm supposed to go to a woman's only target class tonight. I'm hoping by 5:30 I'll be better. Maybe getting out of my PJ's and putting on my make up might help cyndee,- don't feel bad about not recognizing people. I didn't recognize my Dad's best friend or the mother of a high school friend at my Dad's funeral They were both very understanding when I just said "I"m sorry, I know I should know you but I can't remember". Stay safe everyone

((( cyndee , ))) don't be too hard on yourself. It's a difficult time and it's only natural to feel out of sorts. Lavon is right - it's hard to recognize family you see so infrequently. reneinitaly , Hi Rene! So good to see you here. What a great new pic! susiq25679 , the frigid waters make my decision so much easier lol. Thanks, Enjoy your me-time and dinner! jamescat1 , Thanks for that info. I just love them and I was wondering what was going on. linda72 , that's the plan now and the to-do list is steadily growing lol fullmahina , awesome pic!

Iβm in. I got a workout in this morning and then ran some errands. Pet Smart allowed me to stock up on cat and dog food and even picked up up a thunder shirt to help the dog settle down when thereβs thunder, fireworks or other loud noises. Then a stop at Kings restocked the refrigerator and pantry. Now home and tracking, hydrating, and moving as I move forward smiling.
Rene: Yay to checking in and congrats on 2 years smoke free and weight down!
Cyndee: Hugs and positive vibes continue. Iβm glad you made it home safely. Take it slowly with all the stressors and take care of yourself.
Still smiling about the image of heavy metal knitting.
