Academy Awards event is held this evening. Will you be watching? Attending a viewing party?
Do you go to movies in theatre? Or view at home? Any thoughts about food/movie viewing connections (Buttered popcorn and movies!)
If you are a movie fan, any picks or favorites for the awards?

Realized I can't even remember the last movie I went to in a theater. I don't plan to be watching the Academy Awards.
If I happen to see that an older favorite movie is on TV, I might watch at least part of it, but watching at home doesn't seem to inspire the need for "movie snacks". I've got a fair number of DVDs of older favorite movies, but somehow, it seems like I never find the 2 hours of open time that I want to sit down and watch.
Other than the movie LaLa Land, I have no idea what or who is even nominated (and that's only because it's a cute, catchy name). Although - about 30 years ago, I won a local contest by picking correct winners - free movies tickets for a year (and unrelated goodies from other local businesses - I'm pretty sure a fishing rod didn't have anything to do with movies. Ha!)

Academy Awards event is held this evening. Will you be watching? Attending a viewing party? We will not be watching and will not be attending a viewing party. We are too conservative. Ha! Even at that we still wouldn't watch. Just doesn't interest me.
Do you go to movies in theatre? Or view at home? Any thoughts about food/movie viewing connections (Buttered popcorn and movies!) We do attend movies, we go in spurts will go once a week for months then will not go for awhile. We also watch movies at home. We love the old classics. The last movie we saw was Trolls. We tend to watch movies with the Grandchildren right now. The Trolls movie is very cute if you haven't seen it I would recommend it. Food Connection, We always get buttered popcorn. We get the kids pack which is a very small portion with a small drink and a pack of gummies we keep for the Grands. It is just enough without have a large size to over eat.
If you are a movie fan, any picks or favorites for the awards? I don't really know what is nominated but I know Nicole Kidnman is nominated I would love to see her win.
Have a blessed day, Karen

I won't be watching and I don't even know who or which movies are up for nominations. I haven't been to a movie in years. I think the last one DH and I went to was the one with Garrison Keillor and the Prairie Home Companion, which was 10 or 15 years ago. I have no idea whether we got popcorn or not. I know I used to when I went to movies more.
I do watch some on TV or pre-recorded ones on TV sometimes, but I have a hard enough time keeping up with the TV shows I record. Some don't get watched for weeks after I record them. I have no problem staying away from food when watching at home.

I don't watch awards shows, any of them. Won't be making an exception tonight. Occasionally a friend (or DH) and I will go to a 2nd run movie theater. No snacks at the movie, just dinner before. I do watch movies at home sometimes, but don't connect it with a need to have 'movie snacks'. I haven't seen any of the movies that are up for awards so don't have any favorites. I'm aware of some of them because they've been talking about them on lots of tv shows.

I seldom watch awards shows, I do like to flick back & forth & see some of the beautiful outfits. Of course, now, some of them wear so little that it is hard to even call it a dress!!! I'm sure I will do the same tonight. Actually, DH & I go to the movies quite often. Our local theater has "senior day" on Mondays, seniors get all the popcorn & soda they want {free refills) & the movie for $8. It is a good deal & is always filled with seniors. I cannot eat popcorn in public because of dental work. That is a blessing in disguise. When I get the free popcorn on senior day, I just look around for someone with children & give it to them. We saw the movie "Split" a couple of weeks ago, it was very good. I also go to the movies with my 11 yr old grandson often, when there is something appropriate for him to watch. It is our little thing to do together. I also watch a movie on tv once in a while. I enjoy the silly Lifetime movies. Great day all!

We plan to watch tonight. The last movie we saw in a theater was Lalaland. We usually watch here at home. Still have to make a plan for food. It will definitely be point friendly. Have a good day everyone.

I don't plan on watching. Too boring and I am not interested.
The last movie I went to was Hidden Figures which was excellent. Would recommend it to anyone.
We used to have a theater that ran the movies a month or 2 after they came out. Tickets were only $1.50/ $1.00 on Mondays if you were a party of 3 or more. I guess that their projection equipment was old and the new movies didn't work with it, so they closed. Now that the tickets cost $6-10 I am much choosier about what I go see.
Cherry, I have this same problem- I do watch some on TV or pre-recorded ones on TV sometimes, but I have a hard enough time keeping up with the TV shows I record. Some don't get watched for weeks after I record them.

We all seem to be somewhat alike in this category... I don't watch any of the award shows (DH does). DH goes to the movies several times a month with his aging uncle who lives about an hour from here (maybe a little more than an hour, even without traffic). I don't go much. We did see La La Land together, and a few others during the last 6 or so months, but I don't remember (in this very moment) which ones...
No, no popcorn for me. I have a sodium sensitivity and most foods that are commercially prepared are much, much too salty for me. (I make popcorn at home very often, and often spray it with olive oil, but nothing else goes into the bowl.)
And I, too, watch movies on TV. We record a lot of stuff, and fast forward through any commercials (too many of the TV shows we record are on stations with commercials).

Academy Awards event is held this evening. Will you be watching? Attending a viewing party? Not watching, no party, not attending (wouldn't it be a hoot to go someday, though?) Do you go to movies in theatre? Or view at home? Any thoughts about food/movie viewing connections (Buttered popcorn and movies!) I don't go to theaters in Lebanon - people read subtitles and talk on their phones - not fun. Used to love milk duds in the theater and making them last by sucking rather than chewing. If you are a movie fan, any picks or favorites for the awards? Haven's seen any of the movies so no predictions. HATE that they got the wrong best picture announced then had to fix it - seems that has happened before but can't remember when.
