No Excuses
* This is a daily thread for those who want to live by the philosophy that you CAN be ON PLAN EVERY DAY, whether you are doing SFT or counting points for ALL foods! * You aren't doing this to brag; you are doing it for YOU! Because YOU are WORTH IT and because WW has made this totally DOABLE! * WW gives you a lot of freedom and a LOT of options that make it quite possible to live this lifestyle EVERY DAY. * You know that this philosophy keeps you on the straight and narrow. If you give yourself an excuse to go off plan today, there will ALWAYS be another excuse tomorrow. * SO, there are NO EXCUSES!!! * This is your LIFESTYLE and it is a lifestyle you enjoy and you live it daily. * Hopefully your participation here will not only inspire YOU but will inspire OTHERS too! YES, you CAN!

58. Try lowÂfat or fatÂfree tub margarines. Typically, lowÂfat tub margarine has only 2 grams of fat and just 20 calories per tablespoon, and nearly no heart damaging trans fat. Standard stick margarine has 11 grams of fat and 100 calories per tablespoon, plus lots of trans fat.

Makes me wonder...I don't do margarine any more - remember when it was the rage. I have heard of mixing equal parts butter and olive oil then storing in the frig. I have contemplated trying it in the future. It would not be lower in calories but might be "healthier" and tasty, too.

I don't use or care for margarine for long time. I like toasted bread, good bread, without spread for breakfast with veggie omelette. When I use a bit on things I use butter. I eat veggies w just salt and pepper and sandwiches with just dry toasted bread most of the time. I do like olive oil. I spray a bit on air popped popcorn and sprinkle w seasoning salt.
I have in the past added a bit of butter to airpopped popcorn in addition to olive oil spŕay and seasoning salt. The two do work together fine. Never tried mixing in a bowl. Works for pancakes too.

Often when cooking, a recipe will call for olive oil & butter for a saute. I have cut down tremendously on butter but do use it on occasion. I don't use margarine, and don't plan to. I do use a lot of olive oil in cooking and have used it as a substitute for butter whenever possible. Love it.
