Good Morning Prayers for Ann and Carl as Rachel crosses the Rainbow Bridge for our beloved furry pets. ❤️🙏 I received an email from the person in charge of my Canyon Ranch program asking how I was doing and she included a copy of the intentions I wrote when I left. I feel like a failure. I keep waiting for the determination to kick in. We are picnicking at Kynsi Winery with Lily Belle and will bring our own food I don’t taste but have one glass because we buy a bottle plus two to take home. I’ll have a turkey sandwich unless we do early grocery shopping and I can make a salad. There is a nice salad bar at Albertsons Market. I can also make one at the house if I find a container. I have lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and celery. I don’t know if Rob and his family will be joining us for dinner but hope we find out early enough to make plans Have a good day.

I add my prayers for Ann and Carl. It's not easy to let go when it's time.(((Ann)))
Audrey You are not a failure.Look at all the healthy foods you just mentioned.
We need to go back to Best Buy because Kenneth's cell phone we just bought last Saturday or early part of the week is not working right. We will exchange it for a different phone.I already told him I would rather not eat out for lunch so will see how that goes. They have a HEB Plus that is bigger than our local Walmart and since we need groceries for the weekend we will stop there first. If we do end up eating out it will be a grilled chicken salad wherever we end up.
Goals:Stay OP,move and hydrate.I have not been sleeping well.I fall asleep quickly enough but have been waking up way too early. It did not reach 100 today so counting our blessings on that.
Happy TGIF ladies.

Leftovers are mostly gone. Still have some beans in tomato sauce, brown rice and a pasta dish I made last night. Breakfast was OP and is tracked. Now to make the rest of the day OP since...the scale is up again. I finished a police procedural with the main character dealing with the depression of his wife's recent single car collision due to deer...murders for him to solve while dealing with grief. I started a book about a man who drove trucks overland from England to the Middle East and back - think he did it for years and years. And the next book up after that is set in Australia with two ten year old boys talking to a man in an asylum that was notoriously bad then in their thirties they wonder what happened to the man who just disappeared one day. Have my reading and reviewing cut out for the rest of today. Not sure what books are up after that.
The garden is providing a LOT of figs. I will eat some in a few minutes then may try to preserve some in syrup to serve later in winter and will also make a few jars of fig jam toward the end of the season. Something is killing the fig trees...bugs or disease. It is sad.
Today I will:
* be aware * make informed choices * be responsible for my choices
AUDREY: You should not feel like a failure because of an email received from the spa. Perhaps look at your intentions/goals and pick one to work on - one at a time - or revisit them and redraw them to something you feel you can accomplish and feel successful about then try for more. I feel giddy when the scale is down then seem to eat and it is right back where it was again. It is a cycle that I would love to break and even know how to break...finding the "whatever" to make it back to goal weight is not easy, though. My sister has a lot in her Chico garden and spiralizes most of them with her Kitchen Aid attachment. Luckily my husband opted NOT to plant zucchini this year. Your meal at the Galley sounds good. My father used to love clam chowder...may have tasted it in the past but don't remember what it tasted like. My sister is VERY unhappy with the rats that seem to lurk between her house and her neighbor. The rats came in and decimated her tomato plants and she is not happy. With the chickens her neighbor has, the ivy between the two houses coming from the neighbor's side and birds, dogs and other animals she does not want to harm it sounds like her garden will not be safe from the marauding rats and she is not happy.
BECKY: Hope exchanging the phone and shopping goes well. Also hope you find the lunch you want to eat that will be OP.
BEE: We had a cool night...below 80F and a treat to sleep with windows open and the fan blowing.
JUNE: Getting back to one's normal routine after being away can be a challenge. Hope you had a marvelous trip!
LADONNA: I remember working ten hour night shifts in neurosurgical intensive care. It was not easy. I am glad your daughter found a job that is not night hours and hope she will be happier. Well...yesterday was NOT OP but today is a new day...30 out of 31 days OP I would gladly take
ANN: Glad you had a lovely nice weather day to enjoy. I am so sorry you have to say goodbye to Rachel It is never easy to say goodbye to ones furry family member. Sending love and hugs too you and your husband.
SUSI: I know it rains in the summer places I don't live but hearing about it sometimes makes me wish it rained here! Ah well...it will rain in winter and I will wish it would stop! When you have to eat out on a workday how do you work it into your plan to remain OP?
MJ: Loved the rabbit and stars emojis! You always sound SO busy...but happy busy. Hope you enjoy the volunteer day away.
PAM: Here's to a healthy OP Blue-Dot August!
Okay...time for me to get on with the day. I am not sure what the menu will be today BUT it will be OP...that is the plan and I will stick with it!

Waiting on the coffee to perk. Laken is excited about her new job. We stayed up late laughing and talking about her first two days. Today, I have some grocery shopping to do, a new book on my Kindle and not sure what else today will bring but I plan on being aware and making it an OP day. DH is still out of town and wont be back until Sat. afternoon. Audrey, don't be discouraged. when you are posting the things you cook and meal plans they always sound so healthy, plus you are getting in lots of activity. So you maybe just need to make a few tweaks. You can and you will Becky, sorry about the phone. Hope that gets resolved quickly. I kept waking up last night, too but luckily I feel rested this morning. Cathy, I was OP Thursday but I ate my heavy meal late in the day and the scale was up this morning. I will try and spread things out more evenly today. We can do this and we will Ann, thinking of you and Carl today and sending prayers. HUGS June, sending HUGS and prayers to you also and lots of positive vibes.

Audrey - You are not a failure. You only fail when you stop trying. You have been enjoying vacation and balancing where you can. Enjoy your picnic at the winery. Hope they don't give you a problem exchanging the phone. Maybe you can put together a salad at HEB instead of going out Becky? Cathy - That's a lot of reading. I can no longer concentrate like I used to on reading. Back in the day I could go through up to 6 books in a weekend. Now it takes a week if the book engages me. As for eating out, it's all in the choices and balance. And that I am an planner/tracker. I had a grilled chicken sandwich. And you could taste that it was truly grilled. I had half an ounce of the fresh made chips. Breakfast was a veggie/ff cheese frittata over arugula and dinner was chicken sausage, peppers and onions on a lite Italian roll. Today is an office birthday breakfast - I'll have a mini bagel, light cream cheese and lots of fresh fruit. Lunch is also out with a coworker but since it is one of our places I don't have to order off the menu. I will order 2 poached eggs over a bed of sauteed spinach (they use olive oil, not butter) with dry wheat toast. There will be lo fruit in the office for snacking. Tonight will be a wrap with hummus, avocado, goat cheese, shaved radish and cucumber. That still leaves me room for a snifter of brandy in the pool tonight. Tomorrow I have a buffet at the race track. A light breakfast and light dinner will bracket it. I know that grilled veggies are on the menu so that will be my focus along with some treats. I'll also take a spin class in the morning which will help. Ann - Prayers to you and Carl today. June - Prayers to you and your family as well. I'm in, planned and tracked. It will be a busy but not crazy day I think.

The waiting is the worse part of all. We are taking Rachel to a new vet to put her down as the vet where we were taking her is off today and we are NOT pleased with the one that was scheduled to do it. Audrey please don't feel you are a failure (((hugs))) your way. Change takes time. June ((hugs)) praying that your stress lessens. Know warm thoughts are with you. Susi I have also cut down on my reading. Seems I go through spurts...depending on my concentration Your meal planning gets a gold star Bee yes it is what it is. I did my weigh in for the month yesterday and was up .4 My weight is ever so s l o w l y creeping up these days. I need to reel myself in before I do more damage. I'm most definitely an emotional eater/picker/grazer and these past few weeks have been the pits! Off to try to distract myself......

DS called this morning. Last night the two-year-old stuffed a roll of toilet paper and a box with an expensive shaving brush in the toilet. Our son had to dismantle the toilet because the brush was jammed, go to Lowe’s for a wet seal and reassemble it. Whitney was on the phone because a container of grapes arrived frozen when it arrived at its destination and it was uninsured. She had told 5 year old Theo to watch his brother 😂I calmly told her son that we really can’t have that happen at this rental house. It is filled with things to touch and break and there is really no place to put everything so I will be on guard duty 24/7.
Cathy, does your sister have cats? Our Indiana is excellent at killing rodents. Ann, when we put James down we had to take him to an emergency vet. It was a Saturday and he had a seizure. I am sure the vet will be kind to Rachel. Every issue with our pets occurs on weekends or holidays

Ann I am so sorry that Rachel's vet is not available. I hope that you are all in the hands of a compassionate doctor. Making this decision is heart wrenching, so being supported is so important. Am glad that you have Carl by your side. You have us, too.
Audrey We can be way too hard on ourselves. You are certainly not a failure. Every positive choice that you made is it's own success and own reflection of determination. You regularly walk ,eat fish, choose vegetables, limit carbs, drink water, and meditate. You have not losssight of your end game.
Cathy Interesting reading. I need to head to the library for a new selection of books. Right now I am focusing on romantic comedies. Light reading! Enjoy your fig crop while you can. Making a fig preserve sounds like a great way to enjoy them later.
LaDonna How wonderful to share in Lakken's excitement of a new job.
Susi You inspire us all w/ your superior planning skills.
Bee Good attitude!

Got a workout in this morning and then picked a few necessities on my way home. Meals are planned and will be tracked. I’m definitely hydrating as I aim for blue.
Have a great day all.
