Good morning!!
Ruth, well you have such a good eye for finding mistakes in directions. If it was me, I would be bumbling around, figuring it was me and not a problem with the directions. Hope that the designer takes the correction gracefully....yes, I my spare time I ought to make those hats.
CJ- did you find anything good on slow stitch Sunday??
Went to a demolition derby last night with friends.....a good time. BBL GInny

Well, today has been quite a day. Ds had a doctors appointment, which I was supposed to drive him to.....and ended up taking a very sick cat to the vet. Dh- who does not handle medical stuff well took Ds....this cat is Ds’s favorite, and I actually think it was a comfort to him that the cat was taken care of. She is an older cat- we will just have to see how this all goes. Ds has a follow up visit with the doctor in two weeks and I am praying that long term, Ds is ok. I am hoping that all this is just that wake up call most people have when they realize they are no longer the human garbage cans they thought they were when they were teenagers.
Hope that later on I can get to working on my blocks for this month. Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I hope your Ds will be alright and hopefully the doctor will have some help for him. I also hope your cat is O.K. too, it's so tough when our pets aren't well. Hope you can get some work done on your blocks. I didn't see that much on the blogs yesterday, but it was still fun to check them out. I actually did some more work on the Canning Jar Quilt this morning. I often feel like sewing later in the evening, but I don't feel like pressing and cutting fabric. So this morning I pressed and cut some of the fabric for this quilt and now in the evening if I feel like sewing I can work on it. I think I cut about 1/3 of those small 1 1/2 inch squares to snowball the corners of each of the fruit and vegetable fabrics. Hopefully I cut enough to at least get one corner done on all the "jar" pieces. I also cut some strips to work on the sides and lids. I'm hoping I can make some progress with this quilt during August. It's warm and humid here today but possible storms every day this week. I think August will pass quickly and I know it will get cooler in September, so I look forward to that. Take care everyone!

Ginny, I'm sorry to hear that your ds is sick. I hope it's not serious but from what you said it sounds like it could be a long standing thing. I'll be praying. I hope the kitty is ok too.
CJ, sorry you didn't find anything interesting on the blogs yesterday. I always love seeing what you've found. I'm glad you got your urge to sew back and those tiny squares cut out. I'd hate the cutting and pressing also.
It's hot here today but not real uncomfortable because of low humidity and I'm not looking forward to seeing August over. I know it will go fast...too fast for me but I'm glad both of you will feel more comfortable so I hate to be selfish.
Never did get that body of the Viking hat done yesterday although I did get the other one done...the one with mistakes in the pattern. The Viking one is just so repetitive that it's boring but I do have to "just do it". I'm always anxious to get on to my next project and get tired of working on the same thing for long.
So I will get back to that now. See you all later

I know you all are tired of hearing these things but I'm sure the people at the Ford dealer are now conviced that I am the biggest pain in the neck they've ever dealt with. Since I haven't heard from the salesperson in the three weeks I've been sending her email, I email the general manager. He emailed me back immediately a copy of the email he sent out to the salesperson, her manager and several other people that much be somehow involved. We'll see what happens next. I really don't expect that they're going to reinburse me for the money I've had to pay to have this vehicle repaired but I want them to know that I'm not happy with their service. Also I've spent much of the morning taking care of a problem with an order dh wanted me to put in ...all to just save $5.99.I did get it straightened out though. ok so I pinch pennies

Hello Crafters Ruth - I'm sorry to hear how frustrating it has been dealing with the Ford dealership, I hope you will get some type of resolution. I admire you for not giving up and pursuing this - they should know they've done bad business. I haven't done much today and haven't gotten back to working on my quilt, but hopefully I will. It's hot and in the 90s again today, but fairly comfortable in the house. Hope you are all doing well and getting in some crafting. Take care!

Thank you CJ. I'm sorry it's so hat and humid there but glad to hear that it's fairly comfortable inside your house. At least you can sit and read or watch tv in relative comfort.
They did get back to me and of course had to remind me that vehicles are sold as is but he said they like to have happy customers so if I'll just "forward" a copy of my invoice from Honda this person will talk to the gen manager and determine what "portion" of my expenses they will reimburse. Well I'll be happy to get anything but I'm kind of hoping for at least half.
Trying to decide what to work on today. I was tired of doing that hat and my skein of yarn ran out but there was just enough to finish that last row. I do think it needs a couple more rows and I did find a little of the same yarn in my scraps bin. It's a large "scrap" so should do the trick. I didn't start on the horns and instead did some scrunchies and I organized my bookmarks some so that I have folders for things I want to make first or at least in some kind of order. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now. Probably only because I've had to deal with all those various people at Ford and that other company then contact Honda to see if they can just email a copy of my invoice to Ford. I have no scanner or printer so can't just scan and send or make a copy and mail snail mail

Good afternoon!!
CJ, so good to hear that you got some crafting mojo back! Think that August is the perfect month to work on the canning jar quilt, it’s when most who can are processing their garden bounty. That quilt will be adorable! How big a quilt are you planning on making? I can relate to how you feel about the weather. I put up with it becausei must, but it sure is not my favorite weather either. Good news that your house is reasonably comfortable. Temps up here are not going to be cool, but at least not super hot- as in the mid 90’s. Hang in there- hope you can enjoy your quilting time and reading to hold you over until the weather improves.
Ruth, I think if they split the cost of the repairs its a reasonable solution. I do indeed hope that they reimburse some of the repair expense. After its all said and done, I would thank them for their effort and cooperation. Its just a shame you had to work so hard to get them to help. That jar opener is such a cute idea!!! Wow and easy too, you do not even need to follow her instructions. Did you ever finish the Viking hat?
Worked on a pillow case last night. Today was some house cleaning and I did straighten up a bit in my crafting area. Its still a mess but slowly improving. Ds seems to be ok, and goes to the doctor in 2 weeks to discuss. I heard from the vet, and the blood work showed some strange numbers, but no real reason why. They are going to treat several things- and we will see how she does. She is acting almost normal today- but not eating a ton.

Ginny, I definitely thank them all the time. I'm a firm believer in the old adage about honey and vinegar. I've always taught my children...be assertive, not aggressive.Ford dealer is going to send someone over to my house to pick up the invoice from Honda.
I did get the body of the hat done but still not the horns. I might do some of them tonight yet.
I'm glad to hear you were able to do some more work on the embroidery. That's a slow process...all those little intricate stitches. I'm glad both your son and the kitty are feeling better.

Good morning,
Hope I did not offend Ruth- mentioning to thank your “friends” at Ford even when they have done nothing. Its a good adage that you get better results with honey than you do vinegar. Even when the results might not go the way you want, its always good to know you gave them an opportunity to find the best in them and do the right thing. I sure hope that you get some compensation for this disaster. Lord knows you have endured enough.
Congrats on finishing the body of the hat. Sounds like this is one pattern you will not make again!! I forget, is this for your cap of the week, or is this hat a gift?
Dh just got up...gonna go. BBL Ginny

Ginny, no of course you didn't offend me. In the written word sometimes it's hard to see what people really mean but I know you better than to think you would say anything that offends. The way I answered maybe lead you to think that but I didn't want to make you feel as though you offended but you sure didn't. I have definitely found that getting angry and saying things I may regret later is not the right course of action and doesn't get good results.Being nice about things but firm in what you need done sometimes doesn't produce the results you want either but at least you've done your part in taking the right path.
The hat is going to be the Viking hat I'm making for ds and two of the dgs'. It's an easy hat but I just was tired of doing them.Guess I didn't have my crocheting vibe going that day. I made two of the horns yesterday and started the third.Made a mistake on the first two and got them larger than they're supposed to be but I think they're actually better than the way the third turned out where I didn't make a mistake.I also made two more scrunchies. They're made with Lion brand suede that I've had for a long time because I didn't know what to make with it.Velvet scrunchies are popular now and these look a lot like them
Well off to take care of the issues of the day.

Today will be hot, but then we will benefit from the edge of a cold front from Canada. And more T storms. Some of them aren't accompanied by rain. The skies are fascinating to watch but also can have frightening results when a smoldering stump becomes a raging inferno.
I've been crocheting a few rows every night. The motion seems to have a hypnotic effect!
Ginny, your questions regarding my comments about falling behind were excellent. Some of the situation is a summer thing. hb's caregiver is working a full time construction job. School starts in three more weeks. He will be able to be here for longer stretches then. I could have had another come, but hb adapts so poorly to change that I opted not to.
Older daughter will be here briefly in three weeks. She's allergic to dogs and my house, so I don't need to do much in terms of preparing for their visit!
