Day 40 – Enrich Your Life
The main thrust of this chapter is to not to put your life on hold while you lose weight but for you to go out and enjoy life now, the idea being that if you are out enjoying yourself your mood lifts and you have more energy and enthusiasm for weight loss.
Do you have anything new and different coming up in your life?
What things do you do outside of managing your weight and getting fit that enrich your life?

I didn't put anything on hold while I was overweight/obese. There were things that were difficult for me to do because of my weight. I couldn't walk much or stand for long because my feet would hurt unless I had on very sturdy shoes.
Don't have anything new and different in my life. Although I am going to a soccer game on Saturday. We have a professional team in the state now. They are one level down from the Major League Soccer teams.

I think I can tend to stay home a lot since I have traveled so much for work over the years. But now I'm trying to do one entertainment thing a week, in addition to my usual stuff. The yoga was a new addition for me. We like to see live music, and I like movies but unfortunately I always get stuck next to a talker and someone on their damn phone all the time!

Do you have anything new and different coming up in your life? Nothing...would love a trip to visit family but don't see that happening before winter or spring
What things do you do outside of managing your weight and getting fit that enrich your life? I read/review. Used to paint, do needlework and other things. I seem to focus on ONE thing and do a lot of it then move on to the next. So...waiting to see what will come next.
I did not wait to do things when heavy and as I am still heavy am doing what I enjoy when the opportunity arises.

I have not felt held back by my weight. I was my heaviest when I was 19 and of course youth overcomes a lot. I am a constant reader, keep up with meditating, I try to stay informed about current events without getting too crazy about them. Not easy these days. Next Saturday we are going up the The City (San Francisco) to celebrate Mr. Lani's 65th birthday, a little early. The actual date is not until Oct. but this timing is better for us. We are going with a young couple, girl is 25, fella is 22, who we met through DH's last job. We are going to spend the night.

Do you have anything new and different coming up in your life? - Everything feels new and different with little ones. New schools, new teachers, new sports, new activities, new stages of life - like new teeth! I also got some new kittens so life is pretty fulfilling. What things do you do outside of managing your weight and getting fit that enrich your life? - Outside of my weight, life is very busy, which is probably why weight loss can easily be shifted to the back burner. But we do travel a lot with the kids and spend time with friends and family. I also have too many hobbies.

bbbearsmom, I kept up with my daughter on the many trips we made walking castles and all the rest BUT we did not do the trek of 9km as we had hoped to...for a number of reasons. I am going to slim down and increase stamina so that any time she visits again we will be able to make the trip if she wants to.

Do you have anything new and different coming up in your life? Possibly a trip to S Carolina in February and/or a trip to Cape Cod next Fall with college buddies. 2020 is the year we all turn 70!
What things do you do outside of managing your weight and getting fit that enrich your life? I've been taking cello lessons for a year now and love it! I also take tap dancing class once a week and sing in a community chorus.

irisinnia, Your life sounds like a lot of fun. Tell us more about the kittens. How many? What do they look like? How old are they? Are they yours or are you fostering?

bbbearsmom, Why thank you! I'd love to talk about my kittens! We got two! They are 3 months old from our local animal shelter. Our little boy is all black and short hair. We named him Sonic. He is fearless and can jump incredibly high for a kitten. Our little girl is a calico, and I think she's going to be fluffy. We named her Nova. She is spunky and a hunter (of bugs so far). When they get feisty we say they're going SuperSonic and SuperNova. lol They are both very friendly and social. They get along great with the kids, and anyone who has come over. They also get along with the two dogs (in my profile picture, though they are looking much grayer in the face these days; 14 and 11!) and with our other cat Xena. I mean, she isn't rolling around with them because she's 8 and wants to chill, and they want to play. But they're eating together and snuggling up on the couch with me, so everything's going great!

irisinnia, kittens! I always adopt a little older, say five months, but I do miss that kitten craziness. Enjoy! We have a friend who is fostering a young-un, and she sends pix almost every day. Living vicariously through her.
