Track, move, hydrate I picked up Theo across town yesterday afternoon and will probably do it again next Thursday. It was 106 or 107 and the round trip took 90 minutes because he left his backpack in his classroom. Someone had to show me where to find the room as it was my first time at the school. Also to check him out I had to do a fingerprint 4 times answer a few questions and fingerprint again. I was assured it will be faster next time. This is a fairly new school and is really built with security in mind. The cafeteria for after school care is locked and an adult inside has to let outsiders in. The school has fences and gates all around the perimeter. Today I see the trainer at 9:45 and then I can be home to work on my thank you notes and chores. It will be the same temp as yesterday but cooler to 95 on Sunday. Dinner will be grilled petrale sole with vegetables and salads. On Sunday we are going to our last parkway party, a tour of the Sun Maid dehydration plant followed by a dinner at a restaurant in nearby Madera so that will be our dinner out for the week. Wishing you all a peaceful relaxing Friday and a good weekend.

Today I will:
* hydrate * write before I bite * get fruit/veg in at every meal
Yesterday we bought canning jars. They did not have the shorter ones I wanted because short or tall (pint or quart) cost the same so they guy doesn't buy the shorter ones any more. I may have to find another place that sells them since the tall once are too tall to cover in a hot water bath. While there I picked up a four pocket popsicle maker and made a batch with yogurt/Greek yogurt/a peach and some sugar. If they are good I will get some orange juice or other juices and make some more...or make some more fruit popsicles. I also bought some new ice cube trays and wondered why they had covers. They proved a good idea as I can put things ON the trays with water and not have the item stick to the ice cubes. I went to bed before 9 again and was up at 6. I kind of like the early to bed early to rise better than staying up late then getting up early anyway
AUDREY: That is a LOT of security at the school. I guess it is a good thing but do remember how much easier it was when I was in school so very long ago! Hope you enjoy the Sun Maid trip! How sad that the husband of the office manager at the charter school was killed while on his motorcycle. You are right...so much tragedy Figs are almost done here. Might have a few more days of them. We have plenty of grapes and may soon have Italian plums (prune shaped), persimmons, pomegranates and feijoa. After those I believe citrus season will begin again. Harvest of carob and walnuts will be a bit later...maybe?
ANN: Enjoy your lazy days! Hope all goes well for Sheila. Enjoy the haircut! I had mine cut a month ago and it is finally almost as long as it is when I get it cut "normally". I think this may be the cheapest haircut for length of time between cuts in...forever!
SUSI: You are right that what we take for granted others would be more than happy to have. I have never seen a smoker...wonder if you can find a youtube video on how to use it?
BECKY: I hope your knees improve and that you get some rest. Take care of yourself! That is crazy about WW. If you pay for online it should carry over into real time. I did have to pay after being away for years but was at goal weight and paid and got all the new information and then haven't been back again for...years.
SUSI: Having the manicure to look forward to on Saturday sounds a treat!
BEE: I hope the naps helped and that you are perky again soon!
JUNE: Love your positive outlook and the way you are thinking of positive things for R to do, too.
MJ: What a busy day you had! Seems you are on the go sunrise till sunset and then beyond! Your life is definitely filled with family and fun!
PAM: Great goals!
LADONNA: I remember the buzz in the school at the beginning of the year. My granddaughters started this week and my daughter has classes starting soon at the university - daughter has a new class she will be teaching so is busy with that.

I was happy/sad reading about the security at Theo's school. Sad that in this day and age it is needed. Happy that his safety is of concern. Sunday sounds interesting. Cathy - I am definitely an early to bed, early to rise gal. Being at the gym by 5:30 a.m. weekdays and 7:30 on weekends give me a good start to the day. DGF will arrive sometime late morning. Weekend weather is unsettled but hoping for a good deck weekend. Looking forward to mani after spin tomorrow. Sunday is a lobster clambake for DGF's birthday at our favorite restaurant. 4 of us are going.

Good morning all. Didn't sleep that well. Still in pain and that kept me awake. OH well....after the haircut and the Vet appointment for LuLa I can just rest up! Seems like I'm doing a lot of that lately.
Audrey the school situations are so different these days. Like Susi I too have mixed emotions (((hugs))) Enjoy your weekend. Thanks for getting us started. You also have great goals set up.
Cathy, great goals. Good luck in finding the canning jars that you need.
Susi enjoy your manicure. I go for mine Saturday morning and so looking forward to it. Hopefully your weather will be nice so that you and DGF can enjoy your 'happy place'
Waving and wishing all a great OP day.

Audrey, what a time to get Theo and get him home. Your dinner sounds good. Have fun with the trainer.
Cathy, sounds like a good plan. I reckon the naps helped as I am a tad more energetic this morning. May even take my walker for a short stroll.
Susi, have fun with DGF. Enjoy that lobster clambake. Sounds delicious.
Ann, tired is like a tidal wave some days at my house. Of course with my legs, it just takes a lot of energy to move much. Such is life.
I have managed to slide down this week at WI. Amazes me. LOL But I'll take it.
WILLING to be AWARE is about all I can muster this morning.
Off to work the Jumble ...

Bee you are so right re: tired being like a tidal wave. Enjoy the jumble. I have fond memories of my gramma and me doing that from the newspaper

I'm in - another busy work day. I'll do my best to be OP and move as much as I can in this heat. Wishing all a healthy, peaceful day. Audrey, the school does sound really secure and that is great. It is sad as Susi said that these measures have to be taken. Temps here about the same. SO ready for a break in the heat. Cathy, I like the pop idea! glad to hear you got some rest! Susi, the deck time sounds fun and the lobster bake, too! Ann, I'm so sorry about your pain. I sure hope that's resolved with your procedure. Bee, good for you lady Becky, sorry about your pain, too. Pray you feel better.

Ann, Becky and Bee have a peaceful quiet day. cathygeha I found it is easiest to buy canning jars off season or at a time when I don't need them if that makes sense. I forgot to mention that Theo's school is in a worse neighborhood than Leo's so security is also for all of the electronic equipment etc. inside the school. It was so sad to drive the one block from the main road I was on. Kids were playing in totally dead yards with chain link fences and there were few signs of plants or flowers. He is there because it has the best dual immersion program in the district and his mother speaks Spanish fluently because she spent time in Argentina after high school. My son also studied Spanish so he understands it a lot more than I do. Rob and Theo and Jeremy and Leo are going camping at Lodgepole in the Sierras this weekend and Rob even got them tickets to go through Crystal Caverns. It should be a fun guy trip though Leo asked if there was a hot tub Tomorrow afternoon I have Nora because Laura is going to the Stanford event for freshmen from the valley going there this fall. I am going to go to a similar event for new UCLA students next week.

Audrey I bet that is sad. ((hugs)) Nice that they both speak and understand Spanish. Oh I'm sure they will all enjoy the trip Well, I'm a very happy camper. CJ (my new stylist) did an awesome job on my hair with both cut and color. It's shorter, but in this heat and the way my hair grows I'm loving it! I had lunch...now just going to putter around here until I get tired and take a nap. Enjoy

Ann, I am so glad you like the new stylist. Changing who does our hair is one of the most difficult things to do.
