This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Good morning. May your coffee be plentiful and your socks extra warm.
After watching the news this morning, I'm grateful than none of mine need to fly to get home, but am just as concerned about their multi-hour driving. Sending out prayers to all of those traveling this week.
Frieda, I look forward to hearing you are settling in with the girls. I am so sorry about the house you're leaving.
Susan, like everyone else, I'm anxious to see what you get from MM! <3
T, keeping DYKW in my thoughts today.
Anne, how are your temps today?
Hoping to put the final touches on things today. DS2 and GF will be home Wed.; not sure yet when DS1 and DGF are coming. Hair appt. on Wed. also.

Cross-country "Clink!" to you, Nancy.
Movie going was so fun yesterday. The theater has recliners with really good back support. I liked the movie so much, I did not doze off. I still want to see the new animated film about the Polynesian girl.
My cookie consumption rate remains low. Another batch finished, another one going in shortly.
Susan, I whole-heartedly endorse your easier pace this year. I remember last year as a bit of a stress-fest for you.
Frieda, departures from loved spaces are hard. The Yule log sounds like a good practice for this year. Yes, we head to the house in the woods on the 25th, stopping to stay with friends that night.
DS and I need to accomplish some shopping today. We need to buy for him and DH. It will warm up enough for outdoor exertion, if I can find my exerter. Not sure where I left it. Maybe I'm sitting on it?
Off I go into my day!

Good morning! Nancy, it is a whopping 25 here this morning. This should be our last below freezing for a while. T, happy and successful shopping to you and DS. Frieda, I did read Commonwealth. Thought it needed to be more tightly edited. Too much... Susan, I love that you and MM are creating some traditions. Hope this final week is stress free. Good job on minimalizing for the holidays.
Got up bright and early for the DDS and this afternoon I'm meeting a DGF. Right now I'm going to put on a big pot of vegetable soup to which I will add some chicken later. Not much else on my agenda. I do want to see some movies during the break but nothing planned right now.

Good morning all. Not much new in my world. I'm happy to be indoors today since we are expecting an all-day 34 degree rain. Ugh. I have lots to do, but am working hard to keep my head down. Further holiday prep will wait until I fly this coop!
No big anticipation on the Christmas gift exchange front with MM. We decided early on that our January cruise was all we were going to do for each other this year. He did surprise me on Friday by showing up at my office (actually walked into my office unannounced with the help of my co-workers) with a huge vase of roses. I was floored! It was the day after our 6-month dating anniv.
Oh I'd love to be baking with you T and Nancy or going to a movie with you Anne, but guess I'll have to get back to work. Safe travels Frieda!

Took me a while to get here whoops.... busy time of year for the county workers - fiscal year end. My DSs both got home safe and sound in spite of the brutally cold temps. It should like everyone else in the deep freeze, too? We finally made it above zero yesterday for the first time in what seems like weeks. December certainly brought different weather than November.
So DANG SUGAR – why is it so addicting? Confession: I made goodies a week ago last weekend and I spent the entire week making a pig of myself on them. Today O goes to the vet for his thyroid check. He is feeling so much better and acting like a puppy again. DH says “cut his meds back”
Speaking of pups, LOVE the pic Andrea!
Roses, Susan! Nice. I'm excited for your cruise!
I assume Freida has found her way back to Cleves by now.
Anne - I almost laughed out loud at your whopping 25. I wish we had that temp; they say maybe tomorrow.
T, GJ on low cookie consumption.
Nancy - Yikes on the oven door! I did that once, too.

Hi FriendCaTs. Standing in line at VSecret for Jammie's for DD. Picking up couple of things, also things for DM to give DH and DS. Had healthy mammogram to start the day, for which I am grateful.
Susan, MM sounds like a sweet fellow! Here's to minimizing. I'm trying too. Christmas will be the four of us; DS positively glows this time of year. And new job is just adding to that.
Karla, we are prob better than your temps but ours are poor. 30's to come all week - I'll take them. Hoping Odie's visit is good.
We'll get our turn at a cookie or two I expect, but it won't help my scales - my hardest to resist item. Beef is the family vote for Christmas dinner.
Waving to all of you - it's my cash register turn.

Hello CATs! Hope everyone is thawing out after the bitter cold temps from this weekend! Our digital thermometer stuck/froze and I had to rely on the old non-digital one, so I'm not sure if it was -14 or even colder. Not a great weekend to try and potty train a puppy. But she came to us partially trained and is so very smart - we'll see how she does her first work day alone in the kennel for about 4 hours. Wish I had a picture of her jumping with no fear into the snow, then disappearing because the 8.5 inches we got was pretty much her height at the moment! Supposed to be highs in the 50's by Wednesday and high chance of snow Christmas eve and day - that's CO weather for you!! Sounds like everyone is ready, or mostly ready, for the big Christmas weekend!??! How did it fast forward so quickly to the end of 2016? I decided all that I've done to prepare for Christmas so far is going to have to be enough. I don't have time to run and get any more gifts or bake any more goodies. I hope you are all able to finish your preps if you are still prepping!! I'm losing my train of thought on what I was going to write next - dang work interruptions...getting in the way of me typing here! Ah, well, I'd better go now anyway. Thinking of you all!

Waving HI to all.
DH went back to work today. He'll work M-F and then have a four day wkend.
Temps are back above freezing, finally. Have a couple close to freezing days in the next week. The rains have helped clear the sidewalks. I felt comfortable walking to library & back. Took a bunch of personal books to donate. For some reason, I felt like a pack mule. Backpack and my African handbag were full of books and dvds. Brought home 12 books and 3 dvds. Since I skim when reading, not sure how long the books will last.
I will be doing more baking closer to Christmas.
Dryer beeping and DH just drove in. Toodles until tomorrow.
