Ginny, it sounds like you got plenty of exercise in today so hopefully you will be able to sleep well tonight and feel better tomorrow. Yes your dgd sounds like an adorable child. She must be a pleasure to be around. Will you be babysitting her this school year too?
No it will be awhile before we drive out to check out the land. They have it only 10% contained right now and if the wind comes up that could change real fast.
I have the Christmas hat nearly done and it does look nice when on but I won't be making anymore with this pattern. And the ribbing band, although it's a good thought on her part to make one that folds up, doesn't work as I'm sure she hoped. I'll use the idea, though, as a guide to make my own. Even dh liked the octo.I might have to make him one to decorate his cave where he has a lot of ocean things and fish.
And the idea of using a balloon is a great one. I had heard that before and completely forgot about it. I hate to buy something That I'm only going to use once although styrofoam heads are very inexpensive on Amazon.(they don't have child size though). I haven't looked on HL's site nor any of the other craft stores. I did look on WAlmarts and no child size are mentioned. I do have balloons so am going to use that...thank you so much!
Well blabbermouth me has really filled up this first page fast!

Good evening!
Well here I am wide awake when I should be asleep. I just took a Benadryl hoping that it will help me fall asleep.
Ruth, I hope that a ballon is stout enough for you to use to try the hat on. It’s cheap enough and also adjustable to your need. That must be some fire, which I hope they get contained soon!! It’s a good thing you figured out the glitches in the hat pattern. Bet you wish there was a way to communicate with the designer and determine why she used such an odd stitch Configuration.
Yes dgd is an easy child to watch. We have a lot of fun together Ginny

Ginny, well I guess the exercise didn't help. I'm sorry you couldn't get to sleep. I hope the benadryl helped
Dh and I decided to take care of shopping today so we've been out and are back home and perishables are put away. We also went to HL but they didn't have anything I wanted and we also took all the bags to be donated to the rescue mission's store. Looked thru there to see if there was anything interesting but there wasn't. We didn't look at the clothing but they often have "upscale" brands of clothing that have been donated.I don't need any more clothes and dh doesn't either.
Last night I started a hat called mountain ridges and it's almost done. It's a nice one and easy too. I just have one more birthday gift to make and have to put finishing touches on some of the ones I've already made but other than that I'm done for now and will be able to work on Christmas things and maybe get a start on the beginning of the year birthdays, one of which is the afgan. I did find the notebook that has the dimensions I need and how many blocks of each however it looks like I figured it out square not rectanglar so will have to add a few more blocks

Well this is gonna be fun. I am in a live chat with my DH’a benefits group. It keeps disconnecting me. This is frustrating

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Hope you can get some sleep tonight. How old is your DGD? I love the ages 3-5, those kids are so cute and interested in everything and they say the funniest things sometime. Ruth - I'm glad you got your shopping done, sorry you didn't find anything at the 2 stores. I'm sure it feels good to get projects done and be ahead of schedule. It was cloudy, warm and humid here today and then some rain came through and cooled it off. Temps for the next several days are supposed to be in the 80s, so that will be nice. My lawn guys came today so the yard looks good. They are nice guys and called to check on me after they saw the ambulance and police at my house yesterday. I did a bit of crying last night, I guess it was just all too much for me. My head hurts some today, but I'm feeling better about things. My DB and DSIL stopped by to see the damage and offered to help me with things. It helped to talk to them. I've felt so bad that I haven't maintained this house over the last several years, but it's just been too much for me. Talking with them helped me to get some thoughts on how to move forward and maybe I can be out of here next year. I'm glad I did all that work earlier this year and I should be able to finish more decluttering by the end of this year. I always hesitated to ask them for help because they lead such busy lives, they are always going to some appointment or another or doing something with their kids and they are both older than me, so I didn't want to impose. But I need the experience and knowledge to help me through this, so I'm thankful to have them. These are the relatives that helped me take care of my father the last several years of his life. I could not have done that without them. It feels good to think that there might be an end to all these problems in the future and I can maybe get back to enjoying my crafting again Take care everyone!

DGD #2 is 18 months old- and capable of doing a lot of silly stuff!!! The other grandkids are 4 (DGS ) and 6 (DGD#1). CJ- so very glad you got some clarity by spending time with your family. I am glad that they came to help.... and are able to listen and advise your possible move. Bet that makes you feel better. Its hard to make big decisions like that alone.
Got a lot of errands done this am- stopped in Hobby Lobby too. So it counts as crafting. See ya tomorrow Ginny

CJ, I'm so sorry about you feeling so bad that you cried. Sometimes that does make us feel better though. I'm glad your family stepped up to help and gave you some good advise. It sounds as though they're going to be willing to help you.And how nice of the lawn people to care enough to call and check on you! Ginny, good that you were able to get some errands out of the way and I hope you finally had success on your online chat. I didn't see you at Hobby Lobby. You must have been there at a different time than I was ..... I guess we're going out again tomorrow to another grocery store and maybe a stop at Walmart. Dh saw some things in the grocery store ad he wants to get. It's very unusual for us to be out twice in a week. We also have to make a post office stop since we didn't get there today. I guess I'd better get that taped closed and addressed so I'll be ready.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Thanks so much for the support here, it means a lot. I fluctuate from day to day about what I want to do. There are days that I just want to stay in this house and then other days that I want out. My DB said we could get through the rest of our parents things in the fall, so I'll be glad to be done with that. At least I feel better about makes plans to finish getting a lot of things out of the house by the end of the year. These would be things I don't want to take with me if I was moving. Then from what's left I'll go through again and decide if I'd really want to take them with me. I would hate to leave all this stuff for someone to go through if I died, so I'd really like to get my possessions to as few as possible. Since there won't be any children of mine to go through my stuff it would be up to my siblings or nieces and nephews. I'd like to make that as easy for them as I can. It's easy just not to think about these things, but I'm trying to do the harder thing and be responsible The weather here is so nice today, sunny around 80 and very low humidity with a breeze. I went out earlier to run some errands and get the money order ($10) so I can get the police report of the accident. Ironic that I'm the wronged party and I have to pay for the information so I can then deal with fence companies and insurance companies to get things repaired. I'm waiting to see if the guy who crashed his car ever contacts me. I do acknowledge that he had a medical situation, so I hope once he's better I'll hear from him. I know I couldn't destroy someone's property like that and not contact them, but it wouldn't surprise not to hear from him. People are just different these days. Take care everyone!

Well we've been out and are back home.We found that they missed putting one of our bags in our cart so we got home and found it missing. Called the store and yes it's there and they sounded shocked that I wouldn't be running right back to the store to get the stuff. It's not like I live next door to it. I told them I'd come in on Tues and they could refund the money for what was left behind. They also overcharged me on one item. Why is it that the mistakes are always in their favor?
CJ, I'm glad your brother has agreed to help take out some of the things that need to go from your house. Yes it's hard to part with things but at our stage of life it becomes a necessity or, as you said, we end up burdening others upon our demise. Even though I do have children I don't want to burden even them. I saw how hard it was for my ds and ddil when her mother died and she didn't have as much 'stuff" and we have because she had just moved. They even had ddil's sister and her husband to help. Of course her mother lived here and it will be the same when we die...they live in Indiana and I'm sure my dd and the grandchildren here won't be of much help.
Now I'm doing a little cooking and baking then I'll be ready to sit and crochet for the rest of the evening.

Wow it's been 21 hours since I posted last and I was the last one. I hope you are ok, Ginny. I saw CJ yesterday on here but not you.
I've made an appointment to get one of my vehicle's oil changed on Tues and will stop and get the money the grocery store owes me. Now I have to make an appointment for my other car for my last free oil change and a recall thing for the trunk lid which if you don't make sure it's completely up all the way it falls and hits you on the head. That even happened when I went there to get the spare tire kit they promised me and the man was putting it into my trunk,,, lid fell on his head. It doesn't fall hard so you don't get cut of anything but it's a nuisance and they will fix it free so might as well have that done and I can sit and crochet while they're working.
The only thing I did craftwise yesterday was look at the crochet groups and some patterns online and then finished a hat I found that I had started several years ago. It's made with team spirit yarn and I didn't like it at all so didn't finish but after finishing the body of it and adding a front post/back post ribbing it really is nice so now I know what to do with the rest of that yarn...got a ton of it at walmart on clearance back then for 50 cents a skein.
I'm also starting to work on getting the house ready for ds' visit.
Have a good day all and let me know how you are, Ginny. Haven't seen Sue much either.

Hello Crafters Ruth - I'm glad you were able to get some shopping done, sorry about the missing bag. I know that if I left something at the store I wouldn't be going back since it's a drive through traffic that takes about 25 minutes. That's nice that they'll give you your money back. Hope the appointments with your cars go well too. One of my cars has a trunk lid that falls easily. It's knocked me on the head a few times (I'm sure I saw stars one of those times ), so I'm careful with it now. I never thought about getting it fixed. It's on my old car which I'll eventually sell, so I probably won't bother and just be careful. I'm using the trunk of that car for storage right now. I've got a lawn chair in there, buckets, flowers for the cemetery, large trash bags, etc. I don't have an outside shed or basement that are useable for this type of storage, so the trunk has worked for me. It's a warmer day here, but still less humid. I went outside earlier and dragged some pieces of the broken chain link fence out of the grass where I'd left them laying. I don't want the grass to die under them. I'm hoping to get the police report today or this weekend maybe, if not it will be next week. No hurry really, I'm just curious to read it and to find out about the driver's insurance. I have some lingering stress from this incident, which added to the stress I usually have all the time So I'm trying not to let it bother me. Hope you are all doing well and getting in some crafting and have a great holiday weekend. Take care everyone!

Well, went to the NJ shore this am with Julie and the kids and Karen. (Bob opted to stay home). Got up at 4:50....and we left Julies at 6:30. Good day for the beach, clear skies, a nice breeze and not too hot. I was glad to leave at 12:30 when we did- the kids needed their naps and it was time to head home. Nice to share that time with them- but I am really not into hanging out at a beach.
When we got home I picked 6 lbs of Concord grapes ( we have a grape vine in the back yard). The girls and grandkids are coming over to make grape jelly. It should be a fun but messy day. And the house smells amazing
Sorry not to get personal today....I have been up for a long time and want to get some rest. See y ou in the morning Ginny

Good Morning Crafters - That's something I don't get to say very often since I rarely get on the computer before noontime Ginny - I'm glad you were able to get to the beach with the kids, I bet they enjoyed it. I love to go to the beach, but I don't enjoy just sitting out on the sand. I'd rather walk along the surf for a bit and then later just watch it from my oceanfront home (dreaming). Hope you got some rest last night. I love concord grapes, I bet your house did smell good. My grandmother used to make jelly every year, I still remember the wax on top of the jars. If you happen to see any Gumdrop Grapes, made by The Grapery, in your stores you should try them. They tasted just like concord grapes, but with no seeds. Ruth - Sorry you lost your post. That has happened to me many times. Hope the weather is nice your way and you get some crocheting in this weekend. I don't have any plans for the weekend. I would love to go out for a drive, but it's just not a pleasure with all the traffic on the road. Maybe I'm using that as an excuse and I should make myself get out more, I don't know. A lot about my life confuses me right now I'm thinking about using the easy French Bread recipe I have to make some cinnamon raisin bread today. I love to bake and miss doing it because I'm worried about my weight all the time. I usually cut the recipe in half, so at least I'm not eating that much of it. Hope everyone else is doing well and that you all enjoy the holiday weekend. Take care!
