Just received a text from Liz. She is set to be discharged later today and is looking forward to sleeping in her own bed. I asked her to let us know how things are going.

I was happy to hear from Liz and even happier to hear that she is going home. She said she did have a little BP problem like the last time, but it wasn't as bad. She also said she had a little fever last night but it resolved itself. She'll probably post as soon as she's able, but I'll let all of you know if I hear anything else.
Kathy, Liz also said she is sending you special thoughts reference Dorian. I saw the 2pm update and it looks like you might get mainly rain, but potentially lots of it. I have several friends living on the coast of the Carolinas, so I am also trying to will the storm away from them. The Weather Channel person in Orlando was at a gas station and it looked rather sane compared to what your DS endured on Wednesday. There was just no excuse for what that moron did to her. He should be ashamed of himself.
Sorry about the continued clogging, Linda. I hope you don't end up with a sinus infection. Also sorry about the continued heat. Maybe doing nothing indoors will be a good use of your day. I know you probably have a book or two around and Micki would love to cuddle.
Chele, did you and Iggy visit the farmers today? Is Iggy feeling better after his dietary indiscretions? If he feels uncomfortable enough after eating things he knows he shouldn't enough times, maybe he won't mind being "that guy". Being the only vegetarian in the office had its challenges, but everybody knew it and some people were sweet enough to ensure I didn't go hungry. I typically took something I could eat to gatherings and I wasn't the only one eating it.
Did you get a haircut, Becky? If so, what else did you do while you were out? My body battery is down to 5 again. I think I was only at 28 when I woke up, so I need to get back with tech support. I'm hoping they will replace my device because it apparently has an issue because I don't feel any different than I felt when I was waking up at 100 and only got into the 30s and 40s for my low. I worked out on the rowing machine earlier today but otherwise have sat around on the laptop for the past couple of days, so I can't figure out why its not recharging much, if any, other than a device malfunction.
I have had a very frustrating morning and early afternoon attempting to import the treasurer's report into my new desktop publishing software. I tried to dump the xls file directly in. When that didn't work, I converted it into every other type of document I could think of, including image files. I ended up having to strip out all the formatting and just import the text and then reformat it in what they call Story Editor, which just looks like a txt window with a few other features. All told, I have spent about 6 hours on that one page of the newsletter. I have one article left to write and need to input stuff from the fair and the publication will theoretically be done. While I was struggling with it this morning, I went online to see how much just Publisher would cost and the cheapest I could fine was $95. So I guess I'll eventually figure this one out. At this point, it looks like the additional time spent on the newsletter is going to put me over 300 volunteer hours for the year. I guess that's the bright side. I'm working at the fair again tomorrow so I probably won't touch the newsletter again until Monday. It's a football Saturday, so we have TN on and both Clemson and Michigan play this evening, along with Texas, so we might be doing some channel flipping.

holy cow Karen, can she not send the report in an alternate format or convert it to pdf?
Hope Liz rests and stays away from work computer for a while and they can keep pets off her.
The raw sauerkraut at lunch and cole slaw supper both with beano...not at all a good idea.
Finally got go the store for glue around 11 and fixed Bob's dresser door...the old Spanish style from 1968 with top doors with inset panels coming apart when opened. Fingers crossed.
Then went to the big Chandler mall get in some walking as it is 110 outside again. Feel like I hiked Appalachian Trail! Lots of sales but nothing spoke to me. Tried on a couple tops at Macy's...meh.. and boy do they need more flattering light in dressing rooms..sort of look like your liver went bad. did not help that make up had melted off! I headed for the car when the crowds got like bumper cars.
Coughed all the way home after I got out into that ozone pollution from heat lately. We are usually 8 degrees cooler by now ....beats hurricanes though. Staying inside with tea. October cannot get here soon enough.

Linda, believe it or not, a pdf is no easier in this software. I just can't believe that it's so lame on importing anything except text and images. But it was free, so I guess I got what I paid for. Fingers crossed that the newsletter will look presentable. The more I work with this software, the better I'll probably feel about it. At least I'm getting a feel for what it can and cannot do. I also hope that Liz won't turn on the work phone or work computer for at least a couple of weeks. They need to leave her alone. They certainly seem like a needy bunch. Sauerkraut and slaw on the same day are definitely not a good idea. Good job resisting all the sales at the mall. I'll bet it took it out of you. I hope October will arrive in September for you. Your weather this year has been beyond bizarre.
I'm in the process of watching Tennessee try to lose a football game to a team that went 2-10 last season. I told Dale that anytime he's ready to switch to baseball, feel free. It's been way too long since Tennessee fielded a decent team and I don't think it's going to be this year either.

Karen Thanks for the start and the update on Liz.I hope she will start to feel better after she is back in her own bed.
Linda 110 is just too hot.It hasn't gotten to 100 here so far today but it still has time.
Karen I didn't get a haircut today.I'm trying to go as long as possible before I get one.We did go into Elgin and went to Walmart so I could get in some extra steps and a stop at our favorite convenience store to get a coffeeccino.Half coffee and half cappuccino. It's not so sweet that way.Your device definitely has an issue if you don't feel any different when your body battery is down.I always felt the difference in how tired I felt when mine was down with the Garmin.I hope you figure your new software out so it's not so hard for the newsletter each time.
Waves to Chele and Kathy I hope Dorian stays away from you and stay safe.Prayers and good wishes for your safety.

Karen, thanks for the update on Liz. That's great that she's coming home. I've been thinking about her a lot and hoping she was doing well. The 5pm update looks about the same as the 2pm one. We'll probably be getting a good bit of rain, but I'll take that over those earlier forecasts. We're still in that darn cone though, so there is still a chance for worse weather. I hope it stays away from GA and the Carolinas too. I'm sure the stores and gas stations here have calmed down a lot after the frenzy earlier this week, but now they'll be facing that further up the coast.
I had similar thoughts on FSU as what you're having on TN. FSU looked great in the first half and then completely collapsed and looked like the FSU of last year in the second half. They blew a 19 point lead. Sorry about the frustration with the software. I wonder if there's anything else out there that works better with Office.
Linda, not a great choice between 110 and hurricanes, but I agree the heat is the better choice.
Liz, very glad to hear you're coming home and thanks so much for the special thoughts on Dorian. I'm sure you'll be glad to be back in your own bed.
Thanks Becky, I appreciate that. We're hoping Dorian stays away too.
Chele, what are you up to today?

Kathy, it looks like you and yours may be out of the woods for the most part on Dorian, which is great because it's now a Cat 5. From the most recent graphic I saw, you may not even get much rain. Hadn't heard about the FSU games. TN did end up losing and it was one of the worst losses in program history and the first time they have lost a home opener in 36 years. They play BYU next week and it could really get ugly. There aren't a lot of options for open source desktop publishing software. Adobe offers a free trial of In-Design, but then it's more expensive than Publisher to get the permanent version--as in I could almost buy the entire Office suite for what I would be paying for that one program.
More heat today, Linda? I hope you get some R&R so you can be more recovered.
Becky, they aren't releasing any details on the Odessa-Midland shooter nationally. Are you hearing any more? Something has to be done and if Congress doesn't act, I have a feeling a lot of them are going to lose their jobs, which may not be a bad thing. My body battery still isn't working. I was at 5 when I went to bed last night and I'm still at 5 despite over 9 hours of sleep. I did send Garmin tech support an email yesterday but they don't respond on weekends or holidays and then it's 5-10 working days. So I'm not expecting much any time soon. It has to be a problem with the device, so I hope I can get a replacement. As I've said before, I do like that both of my devices now connect to one app and I do like the VS4 features. But it's been a pain not having this function properly for the past week and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Love your new avatar!
Getting ready to go work the fair. I'll take a shower as soon as I get this posted. I have my dinner packed and am taking extra water. Y'all have an enjoyable Sunday.

Becky, that's horrible about the shooter. I saw the report yesterday and at one point they thought there were two shooters, but it turned out to be the same guy.
Karen, the track has moved a few miles to the west which isn't good. They've put hurricane watches up for Brevard County just to the east of here and I'm expecting tropical storm watches to go up here. They just issued a tropical storm watch for the county to the south of us. They didn't mention anything about rain totals, but were only forecasting 1-3 inches last I saw. It all depends on exactly where it turns. It looks really awful for the Bahamas. I don't know how anything could survive 180 mph sustained winds.
Sorry to hear about TN's loss. They are saying this is the most embarrassing collapse for an FSU game ever and people are already calling for Taggart to be replaced. The team looked sharp in the first half, so I still have some hope for them. Have you looked at Office 365? I think it comes with Publisher and is $69 for one year. I know free is better, but it sounds like the free one isn't that great. I've seen some nice looking newsletters produced with templates for Word too, but I don't know if Libre has the same kind of templates. Hope you enjoy your day at the fair.
Waving to all. Have a great Sunday!

It was a seafood day...went to the corner family- owned Italian restaurant. DH had shrimp and scallop scampi on fettuccine Alfredo and I linguine with clams. On the way we say a huge lightning bolt from high to ground in the east. When we got hime it was storm-coming dark, so I took Micki for a quick walk to corner to do his thing...got half way and the wind front hit. Good thing we put down the foir bug umbrellas and laid the three freestanding ines on the ground. Micki got some rinsed off pasta.
We sure do need rain, but only wind so far.

Karen They reported on tonights news he was a known criminal.Police tried to stop him and he took off, killed a mail carrier and took her van and was randomly shooting at people in 15 different locations. It was so tragic. It does sound like there is something wrong with your device.I am tired of charging the Inspire ever 2 nights so I'm going to try the Garmin a few days.I charged it today so I would have it for tomorrow.
Kathy I saw where the Bahamas got hit hard and somewhere in FL it was raining hard but they weren't expecting it to last all night.Stay safe.
It has been cloudy this afternoon and it thundered but just a few drops. No measurable rain in 2 months here now.Expecting hot and dry for next 2 weeks but not hot like Linda.
Liz I hope you will start feeling better soon.
