My DH keeps saying he can't be elected again, but I have no confidence in that. I never believed he could be elected the first time. My DH seems to have more faith in the American people than I do. Elizabeth Warren is looking better and better to me. I really like her ideas, her plans for how to pay for them, the way she is able to speak so that people understand clearly, and the fact that I trust her. But can she win? She's much stronger than I feared she might be in the very early days of talk about her candidacy. Then I was afraid she couldn't go toe to toe with the JA, but I've revised that the more I see her. I think she not only can go toe to toe with him, but that she can intimidate him. Maybe even better than Biden can. She doesn't have my vote sewn up yet, but she's definitely up at the top of my dance card.

Joyce I agree with you about Warren. She is looking better to me. Biden is saying now she can not win against Trump not as electable. I disagree.

The whole whistleblower issue seems very confusing, and as usual with this administration I have no doubt that something most likely was very wrong but that absolutely nothing will come out of it. The Democratic House just can't seem to get their act together about anything and keep stepping all over themselves. Not very reassuring. Lewandowski made them look incompetent, and they totally seem to have brought that on themselves by being more interested in face time in front of the camera than actual investigation. Is there absolutely no one up there who can put the country first above all else? We know the Republicans left patriotism behind long ago. But are there any Democrats who truly are there for the country other than themselves? Viet Nam and Nixon brought our faith in government low, and now this administration seems to have managed to grind what little faith there was left into the dirt and grime. I so hope that the right candidate will come to the forefront, win the election, and restore confidence because I have to admit that my confidence has become extremely low.

Well, duh! Of course they do. Barr is so far up the JA's behind that he'll probably have to be surgically removed once the JA is out of office.

The whistleblower saga becomes more and more convoluted. It sounds now like it it may have been with the President of Ukraine and possibly to get dirt on Biden. Who knows? Certainly I wouldn't put that past this JA. Will we ever know the truth?

I saw a disturbing segment on CNN about a former mining town in Minnesota that has voted Democratic forever. They have turned to Trump in hopes of reviving their mining industry. I can't blame people for wanting jobs. I don't have an answer.
DT lost Minnesota in 2016 by a very small percentage.

That's discouraging lani. Like you, I can't fault people for desperately wanting their jobs back. A vote for this JA is not going to achieve that for them, but when you're desperate you'll grab hold of anything that might possibly be a lifeline. Wonder what sort of mining they do? DT promised West VA coal miners they would keep their jobs and their mines would even flourish last time around. That's not worked out very well for them thus far. Democrats need to be putting out some feasible solutions for these people. Those types of jobs are likely not going to be around much longer no matter who is in the WH, but the workers can be trained for even better alternative jobs. Yet, when that is all you know. When it's all perhaps your family has ever known going back for generations it's hard to see any other possibilities. Democrats need to highlight those possibilities and help these people see how they are real, and how they can be ready for them. Sometimes I think Democrats are their own worst enemy in getting their message out.

nashville11, they mine for Taconite, a low-grade iron ore that is used in steel making. It is rendered into a powder and the iron particles separated out by magnetism, shaped into pellets, then shipped to steel makers. So these old mining towns are gung-ho for the steel tariffs. Side note: my mother was raised in this Iron Range in Northern Minnesota, north of Duluth. Her family were farmers; they did not prosper. It was poor farm land.

"Ninety-one percent of Republicans approve of his job performance to date, while only 5% of Democrats feel the same." -- Sarah Isgur, CNN website
---------------------
In a sane world, how is this possible that 91% of even Republicans can approve of this fool? Maybe that's the problem. We're no longer living in a sane world, because I surely can't see how in a sane world this could even be thinkable.

nashville11, I too find this hard to comprehend. All I can think is immediate financial security is more important to them than anything, along with social/cultural ideas of anti-abortion, guns for everybody, down with gays and immigration. Who cares if folks suffer as long as it isn't them and our earth becomes uninhabitable for their offspring.
