Pampering Pam is on the agenda with mani and pedi! Chilly wind this morning, but they're predicting temps in the 60s so that's a good thing. Heading out to workout shortly. Have a great day everyone!

Got a lot of catching up here. I think it's been a week since I've been here...& what a week it was. Lots of hugs, tears & toasts& a beautiful memorial.
This week started out with bad news from the eye doctor & last night the cold from hell arrived. Forget breathing thru the nose. I have never taken anything for a cold before but I tried zicam this morning but so far...no relief. And I'm taking care of my niece's cat so that's 2 trips a day to her house. I am crabby & exhausted so I'm going to sign off now so I don't bore you all to death with the whining.🤐

sullicat1 I hear you on the nose-breathing thing! The cold hubby was so nice to bring into our house has established itself in my head. Stuffy nose=sinus headache. It's not 24/7 and it's managed to kill my appetite so all is not bad! Did go to the pool this morning... the warm water was just delightful as were the slow movements of AiChi. Could only do half of the aerobics class--breathing seems to be a requirement when working out... On to WW weigh-in. I've been having a battle royal with my scale this week so it was iffy as to whether I'd hit the monthly weigh-in. I absolutely HATE worrying and being "on the cusp" each month. So I caved... gave them the note from my doctor and moved my goal weight up 3 lbs. Mostly so I won't have such anxiety each week! Get on the scale and I'm down 1.6 and well within the 2 point range! But I'll keep the goal weight as a weigh-in breather and KOKO doing what I've been doing ---6 months of maintaining. Oh, and my scale earlier in the week was almost 5 lbs more than today... time for a new scale??? glad you are back and feel chipper, DebDoesWW My couch is always available though! sullicat1 Don't worry about whining... if we can't do it hear, where can we? ksbruns Trouble? Sure wish I lived closer to Boston... I'd help you find trouble!! Congrats to all the "losers" as well!!

Sullicat- I'm so sorry about the cold. I had it earlier this week. I doubled up on the Zinc and Vitamin C. Also took a Hot toddy one night, two nights of NyQuill and another night of Hot Toddy. Each night I slathered my entire face, chest and neck in Vicks. I'm doing MUCH better. Each day got a little better.
I actually use a Q-tip to put Vicks slightly inside my nose and ears. I am a full believer in the power of vicks. I just found out that they make Vicks kleenex.

I love Vicks too. Unfortunately I can't use it in my nose because I'm on O2 @ night &a there's petroleum jelly in Vicks. I am going to get an inhaler though. I think that's ok. There are quite a few things I can't take because of,the COPD. My BFF swears by Vicks on the soles of your feet. I did try that once but it didn't work for me 😟. The bridge of my nose is just throbbing...yuck.

Hi Everyone,
So cold and windy here in NJ. Just not used to it this year.
Thank you for your kind words Deb. We all need to do what we have to do. Doing my IVIG on a weekly basis has cut down on the side effects of the meds. When I was doing it once per month, I had a lot of side effects. I had to do a lot of premedicating and even with that, I was out of commission for 3 days. My new doctor is trying to get me to switch Ivig meds and go to every other week. Not a chance. I'm afraid of the more side effects returning. I am not saying never but surely not for now. I've got an infusion schedule and it needs to stay that way as I need to be available to my sister. She is my Hero. She has been through so much.
Neen- I hope at your next appointment the doctor is able to work at fine tuning your thyroid so that you can start feeling better.
Liz

Congrats to all who lost this week. Healing vibes to all who need them. I still have my spring time allergies but I did buy some Nasocort spray this morning and I can actually breath for the first time in almost a week.My voice is still scratchy and nobody can understand what I'm saying but my throat isn't hurting as much.I went to Curves followed by grocery shopping this morning and I got in a walk this afternoon. It's pretty but a pretty brisk wind but it still felt good. DebDoesWW,Glad you are feeling better. pbnj,I don't blame you for taking out the Dr note to have a cushion so you won't have to be so concerned every month at WI. neen,You are smart to stay away the phentermine.I hear that's bad stuff. sullicat1,I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. I hope everyone is enjoying a great TGIF!!!

pbnj I have a feeling I would not be able to keep up with you; I'm pretty tame these days! But when you ever get yourself up here, I'll be glad to try. I think you were smart to give your doctor's note; I spent the first couple of years of maintenance right at goal and was sweating every month...I don't know anyone that sits on the same weight every single month, so I bet this will help you catch your breath. Stress can definitely be counter-productive to our bodies.

thanks ksbruns and borntexan (Kathy and Becky)---I appreciate the support! I've had the note for 6 months hoping I could get my weight down under the goal (top of BMI chart) but it hasn't happened. Perhaps the lessening of "first weigh-in of the month stress" will give me the ability to relax and really figure out how to manage. It gives me a 5 lb 'cushion' which is much more realistic!

pbnj & ksbruns Interesting hearing about the top of the chart. I'm 3# over my LT goal, can't seem to get it down below. I've been sweating the WIs for the last 3-4 months, just barely skating in under the 2# limit. Now, I'm firmly over that limit which means I'll need to pay. I'm debating just not going but I think I have to appear sometime in March, don't I? Sigh, feeling frustrated for sure.

linda72,Since you go to weekly meetings you still have until the last week of the month so why not see if at least 1 of those lbs will go away and you'll still be free won't you?Good luck whatever you decide to do.

@beckyw2016 I am planning to wait out the month of March and see what happens. Not sure what is going on but the scale is just refusing to budge. As I said, the last 3-4 months, I've barely made the cut off so the scale has been creeping up 4-6 oz. but it was enough to go over the limit. I'm sticking to 30-32 SP and trying to eat OP every day. I took my first Body Pump class today which I enjoyed but I need to go easy on using the weights so I don't get too sore. I know there can be water retention with strength training so I might actually gain now! LOL!! Ha, ha! The scale can sure play mind games so I'm trying to stay calm about it. Thanks for your input, Becky.

I don't know if I'd call it fun..
I took DD to gymnastics, went to the gym, and then prepped for my tax appointment tomorrow.

linda72 One of the reasons I only weighed monthly since I've made goal was because I could not take the pressure of the weekly WI...so I think if you just want to watch the scale the next few weeks and are truly OP, I get it. However, skipping a WI is such a slippery slope. Fortunately, I always got myself in line to do it (staff had to WI before the 15th), but I knew SO many LT's that would drag in with some weight to lose because they *couldn't bear to pay*. I remember when Asmaa went to pay last year for the first time...and then she was back at goal the next week. I have always thought there is some connection between pulling out the wallet and staying committed. Good luck figuring it out.
