Affirmation: I am a possibility thinker Mind: Optimistic Body: Functional Fitness of the extreme variety today Spirit: Protected Gratitude: My new life theory working actively in my life
Today we cleaned house. My husband cleaned the kitchen and did an excellent job which was enormously helpful. He is fascinated by this recently acquired job since he hasn't done anything like this in decades. I finished raking up the pesky tiny pine needles in La Mesa Grande (the big back planter). He brought up from the basement my plastic container of Christmas decorations. I put up the little pine cone tree my mom made for me and the few decorations I have. I just love this simple decorating scheme. I have three little strings of lights I put on a couple of my silk plants. Life is good.
Cathy: Your post was such fun to read! I worked on the shoe situation and got those organized which was more complicated than it sounds. I took a class years ago called "Color" which was taught by an artist and we contemplated the topics you were discussing. Also color combinations, the color wheel etc. I have been considering colors to wear with my Navy blue sweater today. Such fun!!!

Affirmation: Life is Good
Mind: Content
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: Talks with family on the weekend
Nothing exciting to share. First big rumbling thunder and lightning storm of the year so had to disconnect from internet and they cut electricity as spare parts are hard to come by. I was in clothes for awhile BUT got cold so put fleece jammies and robe back on again.
MICHELLE: Color is fun. I know I am best in warm colors but just read that with white hair (mine is white in front and that is what people SEE) I should wear bright not muted/soft colors...I think? And...since warm that would mean more like spring than autumn colors BUT I will wear warm as I choose, I think. I am learning more about this stuff daily and find it fun and interesting. I like the idea of your minimal decorating. I might bring out the little Christmas tree...maybe? we will see.

Affirmation: Willingness is the key that will unlock any door. Mind: Determined and Focused Body: Walking and Yoga, OP Spirit: Mellow Gratitude: My new life theory working actively in my life again today
I managed to start the pants hemming project. Hopefully tomorrow it will be completed. I am very glad my mother taught me to sew!
Cathy: I agree about wardrobe color basics changing as time goes by. I try to stay away from dark looks such as all black since it never did look good on me and I seem to be happier in lighter colors. I have a number of bright winter scarves that do the trick. I am having fun working on this area and consider it a hobby which I call "Clothing". So if my husband asks me what I am doing I say "Clothing" just like I might say "Gardening".

Affirmation: I am content
Mind: Curious Body: Strong
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: The ability to do what needs to be done
We were busy with a trip to the bank, grocery shopping, produce cleaning, no time for eating, a shower and it is nearly 5. Lunch was an apple with peanut butter and persimmons. I think dinner needs to be a bit more substantial...maybe? We have produce aplenty...not to prepare it all. I cut my thumb so won't be doing dishes for a few days and cooking could be interesting, too. Ah well...it is a simple easy cut to heal but on the tip of the thumb so it will get bumped a bit, I fear.
MICHELLE: I love that Clothing is a hobby...it seems to be for me, too. The color thing is also a fun hobby. My husband is now invested in the entire thing and will give me feedback and offers to photograph the outfit I end up in for the day so I can share it with the online groups. He is funny...he will ask, "When is the fashion show?" or "What time do you need me?" Today's outfit was jeans and a navy crew neck t-shirt I put a white v-neck t-shirt over (white is not a good color on me) then added the lipstick sample #3 my daughter sent and THEN added a red scarf and red cardigan jacket type thing I bought at the outlet in the past week. It was nice...though I did forget the earrings!

Affirmation: I am able to do what needs to be done
Mind: Focused
Body: Tenacious
Spirit: Intuitive
Gratitude: Being able to see the positive possibilities
Slept well and enough last night. Today I plan to go to the basement, find a sweater pattern and the knitting needles, then begin making a sweater for the colder weather coming. I don't have any-many that fit and are fine for every day and bulky yarn should see one knitted up quickly...I hope.
MICHELLE: Thinking of you and playing in the closet. I think today, for me, will be a pajama day instead of a play in the closet day.

My post from last night disappeared. Frustrating since it also happened not to long ago. Affirmation: Wrap your troubles in dreams and dream your troubles away Mind: Witty Body: Walking and OP Spirit: Carefree Gratitude: Cheerful people Today I was a Happy Homemaker puttering around doing whatever chore was in front of me. I did get one more pair of pants done. Also cleaned out the dogs swimming pool and changed the water. Luckily the hose water wasn't frozen since most of the rest of them are. Buttercup likes to lounge in her pool after she forces me to throw the ball for her over and over... The other day I had to break through ice to accommodate her wishes.
Cathy: Such fun to read about your fashion shows and having your looks photographed. Do you have the yarn for the sweater? I can't knit but my mother was a complete whiz at it. She could also crochet and made me the cutest dress embellished with crochet around the neck line.

Affirmation: I am happy and I know it Mind: Positive
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Open
Gratitude: Friends, a house to keep the wind and rain out, loving family, a phone call a few minutes ago from my brother in California
I did start the sweater but first made sure the guage was correct. I am not sure that I am using big enough needles so will double check before doing more. It is bulky thick yarn and using smaller needles will make the stitchs closer together and hopefully warmer but might also make the end product stiffer and less flexible so...we will see.
MICHELLE: Your dogs get into the icy water in their pool? BRrrrr! You are doing MUCH better at hemming your pants than I am! I am doubling up t-shirts again. I put a v-neck over a crew neck and they look okay tucked into the jeans and belted. I think since I don't have sweaters I will do this for now...till I find or finish a sweater or two!

Affirmation: This is a rich Universe. There's plenty for all of us. Mind: Whimsical Body: Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Carefree Gratitude: The internet Today I ran errands which I wanted to get done since it might snow tomorrow. Clair and I did go to the University so she could get some therapy work done. She was so excited to get into the car and as usual we enjoyed the time with the students who just adore her. Cathy: Your affirmation made me think of the childhood song about stamping my feet and shouting Hooray! Do you enjoy knitting? This is exciting!! Like you, I wear multiple layers since I keep my home quite cold. This year I had to add another layer and even with all those layers I wear a heavy merino wool sweater,a wool scarf, wool legging, wool socks.... Of course I am in and out all day long with the dogs doing various things without putting on a coat. By the end of winter I am fairly tired of this complicated get up so I start day dreaming about living in Hawaii and running around in just a muu muu.

Affirmation: Gray skies and rainy weather do not dampen my spirit
Mind: Focused
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Gracious
Gratitude: Layers to bundle up in on cold days
I spent time with friends yesterday and had fun. One friend told me to wear the knit dresses as they are so I tried them on today and they were long but fine...especially with a belt. If/when I get knee-high or higher boots to wear and a wider leather belt I will be rather stylish...maybe? The outcome is that I will not be unraveling them to knit again but instead wearing them as they are. The sweater I started seems too tightly knit so will take that back to square one, I think, do a new guage and begin again. I will measure a sweater I like and take my measurements and create my own pattern. At least that is what I think I will do.
MICHELLE: I was in the outfit for a little while today then put my pajamas and fleece socks, slippers and robe back on and am under covers on the couch. It is 60 in the kitchen and cooler elsewhere in the house. Leggings, a turtleneck, thin sweater and cardigan were NOT warm enough. Oh well. My nephew and his wife were in Hawaii for their "Baby-moon" which is a time to be together before a baby is born (I guess?) and of course they were there for the floods and snow so not much sunbathing was done. I can see why having summer and winter homes is something some people do if they have money...that's for sure!

Affirmation: My new life theory is active every day. Mind: Disciplined Body: Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Optimistic Gratitude: Snow It snowed a couple of inches last night. The dogs were frolicking in it and having a great time. Today I spent a significant part of the day wrestling with the dreaded Paper Tiger. It was walloping me for a while but I overcame victoriously. Cathy: So much of fashion is up to the individual now which I think is fantastic. My daughter was in Hawaii over Thanksgiving. I can't remember how long she said they were going to be there so she might have encountered challenging weather. As far as I'm concerned there really is no place like home. I am the happiest here but will be forever grateful that I did go to Europe etc and see the sights. I hadn't heard of baby moon either but I did look it up and apparently it is a fashionable thing to do. My brother's daughter is getting married in mid January. It is a destination wedding to a very remote spot in northern Michigan. Destination weddings are now also fashionable but mostly they are held in warm tropical locations. Hmmm...

Affirmation: Colorful food is healthy and makes me happy
Mind: Focused
Body: Comfortable
Spirit: Content
Gratitude: Abundance in my life
I am down to a new low this morning...153...eight pounds from my goal weight BUT might need to lose a few more if I plan to weigh in wearing clothing at a WW Center in the future That said...doubt I will go back to WW since their new plan is one I can't really do without the app and can't/won't pay for while living overseas.
I made spinach with onions, bulgur and black eyed peas with beets that I may put some cranberry sauce on...we had some in a package sent a year ago by our daughter and it needs to be used. So, beets might be a nice way to use it? We will see.
MICHELLE: I love that the dogs are having fun in the snow. My niece married locally then went away for a destination wedding in Ecuador. She had two wedding dresses. One was my mother's (altered without permission by her sister) and the other for the destination wedding fancy and purchased. I can't imagine a Winter wedding in Michigan being something I would want to attend UNLESS it was a place that people go for winter skiing or something like that? I agree with you that being home is the best place to be BUT would like to go visit family sooner or later as it has been over seven years now since I have been to the USA.

Affirmation: Every day I notice how my new theory of life has impacted my life. Mind: Spunky Body: Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Filled with light Gratitude: Being prepared
Just another normal day in Paradise for me. I ran out of gas but had plenty of gas in the garage to fill up my quad. I put on so many layers today that I looked and felt like a Polar Bear. It seems like it is going to start warming up again. More wrestling with the Paper Tiger--it managed to get me in a headlock and pummel me but such is life! I have learned to roll with the punches when dealing with that Dude.
Cathy: Congrats! on your WL. You made me laugh about appropriate attire for a WW weigh in. I am not familiar with the new plan since it takes a rocket scientist to figure it all out. Back in the day, we had such a simple plan and a little booklet to keep track of it all. I still use that system since focusing on food makes me think of food and that makes me want to eat food and that makes me... Well you get the picture (and it wasn't a pretty one). Thank goodness that is all behind me since it is done unto me as I believe. Hooray!!!

Affirmation * My attitude determines my view of issues that occur in life Mind * Focused Body * Healthy Spirit * Creative Gratitude * Being able to see ways around tricky issues like a funky keyboard with keys not working and a wonky hard drive.
the hard drive died on the new digital device and I am using an old one with keyboard issues. I tried to fix one key and it fell off. I am glad I have this little iffy device as I can read and do more on it more easily than using the cell telehone...that is one of the keys not working...and so is the colon and semi colon and zero and...hmm...

Affirmation: Positive Mind! Positive Vibes!! Positive Life!!! Mind: Thought filled Body: Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Happy Gratitude: Family We ran errands this afternoon and among other things got the car smogged and licensed. It was nice to do this together since all of my errands are usually done while my husband is at his office. Cathy: Sorry for your computer woes which hopefully aren't of long duration. I liked your gratitude. IMO, attitudes like this stem from what I call "possibility thinking". Universe always provides and I thought the ****s provided a fresh look at our daily lists and I wanted to incorporate them into mine.
