Spirit: eXcited by new ideas
Gratitude: anXious to be done with "x" words
I did have fun with friends. Took grapes and figs as my token offering for the gathering. We talked, caught up, and I ended up with the losing score which was fine since it is not about the winning as we all win by being together. One woman will head to Australia soon to help her son's family when the daughter-in-law has surgery.
MICHELLE: It would be fun to take a class...or two. I hope you enjoy what you learn if you do take a class!

Affirmation: I use Science of Mind in creative ways. Attitude habit builder: Quirky and quick! Body: Homemakng steps and Yoga Spirit: Bright Gratitude: Lovely moon I ran errands today in a very relaxed manner. Spent sometime going through my pictures on my phone to delete duplicates etc. I have a rather limited subject matter but expanded this year to include the irises I grow. Managed to find the fence stakes I was looking for so I was glad about that. When I go to town I have found a secluded shady place in a parking lot of Home Depot that has some flowering shrubs the bees love. So I park there, commune with the bees and eat my lunch. I really look forward to this. Cathy, I will sign up for the classes tomorrow. One meets only once, another twice and the third four times. I think I can handle that. My husband says he will attend two of them with me which will make the driving easier, nonexistent for me actually. I can only handle errands once a week of that 70mph for 50 minutes and then crazy freeway in town kind of driving. Not too sure he really wants to go so I will wait a while and check back with him.

Body: Yields pounds when I am on program

Gratitude: Yummy food, Youngsters playing, Yellow daffodils in spring
I wrote two reviews yesterday, will read another book (or two) today, am back to weighing and measuring food and tracking it since the scale is up again, have done some laundry, will shower, have written emails...etc. I am contemplating which t-shirt and pair of shorts to wear after taking a shower...hmmm...
MICHELLE: I love the visual of you in the shade communing (from a distance) with the bees as you eat your lunch. I also love the idea of irises...tried to grow bulbs here but hubby kept plowing them up so we only have white ones that remain. Ah well...such is life.

Affirmation: I am the captain of my own ship. Attitude habit builder: Simple and Relaxing Body: Homemaking steps and Yoga Spirit: Happy Gratitude: Friendly strangers The day started out helping my husband load sticks using the tractor then the Admin Assistant came and we spent a number of hours working on getting a computer up and running properly. After that my husband and I drove to town to do some shopping. The item needed was found and purchased. Then we had to make alterations to it which took a while. Then I...... Well, it was just a busy day. Cathy, I sometimes wonder if I really do want to be enlightened. The people who have arrived spiritually just don't seem to have much fun and are usually quite serious pontificating about how to do life to those of us who are lost

Affirmation: I do the work to achieve goals
Mind: Focused
Body: Willing
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: Friends, Family, Fun times to look forward to
Yesterday we talked to our daughter. A stray cat found its way into their yard and has been trying to get inside the house. They are both allergic to cats SO won't let her in but did put a flea and tick collar on her, have tried to find her owners, etc. I hope that the owners come OR that she can find a home for the cat. tonight we will talk to our son and his family. I will make bean burgers for lunch with a slaw or carrot salad.
MICHELLE: Busy days can be nice as they usually mean we sleep well after the busy day. As for being spiritually enlightened and fully arrived at whatever spot I should be...well...I think that ANY and EVERY one has the capacity to grow and learn more. I enjoy the pursuit of knowledge and variations people believe in but hate listening to pontificating believers that see me as "lost" and in need of "saving". I don't begrudge them their beliefs as long as they don't harm others...but... If I did have all the answers (ha-ha) I would not be proselytizing but would share if someone asked why I was so zen IF I knew what it was that made me so

Affirmation: I am the captain of my own ship. Attitude habit builder: Optimistic and connected Body: Hobbying steps and Yoga Spirit: Content Gratitude: Bird songs Spent most of the day puttering doing my yard hobbies. Also did some homemaking items and I am glad I did so that my day will be less active tomorrow. Cathy: This zen discussion is interesting! I practiced The Zen of Homemaking for quite a while and found that it permanently changed my attitude about the process. I rarely complain about choring or doing tasks and actually enjoy being busy. I think the book "The Magic of Tidying Up" is interesting and I try to fold my clothes in a zen manner. I found the concept great for improving my attitude but not sure what the real point is or if there is one, as they meditate themselves into the vast nothingness which seems to be a goal. I appreciate anyone who is on any spiritual path!

Affirmation: I make changes to my course to enhance the journey
Mind: Focused
Body: Willing
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: the ability to research, learn, and willingness to try new things
Michelle: Looked up zen of housekeeping and was led to a page with questions to ask oneself while cleaning: color of clean, purpose of dirt, etc...personally...not sure that I would find joy in cleaning or exercise though I might enjoy the end product...at least the moments it stayed that way before dirt appeared again.
Talked to granddaughters yesterday, son was sleeping, daughter is still trying to care for without adopting the stray cat, life goes on. Laundry today. Made good veggie burgers without a recipe...even hubby liked them.

Affirmation: Lots to do and I am going to get it done. Attitude habit builder: Pride of accomplishment Body: Transcendental endurance raking steps and Yoga Spirit: Quirky Gratitude: Running water
Pleasant day for me! I started early to get my raking done for the day. Then started dealing with the oddities of today's world and managed to get most of my paper tiger pile completed.
Cathy, You made me laugh! My experience is more along the lines of the concepts in "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". Here's part of a review of the book: One of the most important and influential books written in the past half-century, Robert M. Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is a powerful, moving, and penetrating examination of how we live . . . and a breathtaking meditation on how to live better. Rather different than the website you found and seemingly more spiritually sophisticated . I appreciated the fact that my thinking changed permanently so that I actually do enjoy homemaking. Of course my goal was to --Change my thinking change my life. Hooray! Onward>>>>

Affirmation: I make wise healthy decisions
Mind: Inquisitive
Body: Strong
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: Gentle breezes wafting through the windows, birdsong, screens that keep bugs out, ability to see the good I have rather than focusing on what I don't have
Going out to run errands today so nothing much to share. I did figure out how to keep the mosquito net anchored at the foot of the bed using a luggage strap. Will agree with my husband on three meals for the rest of the week and buy only enough produce for those three meals.
MICHELLE: I am glad I was able to make you laugh over the zen review...I think that one can "get in the zone" doing most things and zen moments may happen...sometimes... I love cleaning WITH someone but hate doing it alone...hmmm...

Affirmation: I love life! Attitude habit builder: Pride of accomplishment Body: Firebreak raking and La Mariposa steps and Yoga Spirit: Kind Gratitude: Lovely fall days Once in a while there is just a whisper of fall in the area when I am outside in the morning. Today it was cloudy and cool for most of the morning--such a treat. Cathy, I enjoy doing chores with someone of a like mind who wants to enjoy life instead of complain about it. Also I won't go grocery shopping with anyone who is a downer. Life is way to short to put up with people being miserable. I really have learned to make the absolute most out of these kinds of things. It was such hard work to permanently change my attitude and perspective that is why I love the saying--Change your thinking, Change your life.
Congrats on successful Possibility Thinking and the mosquito netting!

Affirmation: Honest tracking and staying on program makes the pounds disappear
Mind: Focused Body: Willing
Spirit: Bright
Gratitude: My daughter - her birthday is today - so glad she appeared in my life in 1979
Did a LOT yesterday: bank, exchange, groceries, produce, bought coffee beans, ordered progressive glasses, finished and reviewed a book, and finally crawled under the mosquito net and slept through the night. What I am now doing seems to keep the mosquito net in place and nights are cooler...so nice to sleep at night, now!
MICHELLE: No cards today but I have made good use of the day. I will finish lunch then start reading another book. I am glad you have managed to change your thinking-life and are accomplishing so much in a positive way!

Not much to report...just lost electricity but still have internet due to the little device on the router. Can't make anything for lunch that requires electricity so no idea what lunch will be today. Maybe tuna? Hmm...or perhaps the bulgur, garbanzo, cucumber, garlic, mint, yogurt salad?
MICHELLE: I love that you have clouds to cut the bright sunshine and the heat it produces!
