Affirmation: I create a bubble of ease around me. Spiritual: Faith Physical: 9,532 Steps and I got out the snow shovel and ice melt for tomorrow's adventure Gratitude: Space heaters
Cathy, It is all of those you listed. The idea is to get it firmly in mind exactly what is standing the way of accomplishing what is being visualized. Also, for me there are steps to get to the desired endpoint. Lots of times these aren't actually considered. For instance if I want to stop eating junk food a good idea would be to clean up my environment and don't dream up excuses to get more such as buying a number of pounds of Halloween candy. A good example of dealing with these types of things is the Beck stuff that is gone through on that board here on ProBoards. It seems elementary but it is surprising how this list of "can't have what I want" items is sometimes quite complex.

Affirmation: Focusing on where I desire to be and making the effort to make it happen will see it occur in the future Fitness: Need to apply the above to this area of my life Health: one choice at a time I am becoming healthier in mind and body Spiritual: The universe provides what I need Gratitude: friends on Wednesdays
Today we will go to the bank in the village to pick up the credit cards that we were to pick up in Beirut. I told hubby to ask them to send them here instead and they were willing to do so. I told him the next step is to bring our local account nearby rather than leave our main branch in Beirut where it is difficult to get to. It is the same bank so one should be able to bank anywhere in the country but....it is Lebanon.
MICHELLE: I have been following along with the Beck reviews sfor awhile now. I finally asked my daughter to bring a copy of it with her for me to actually read Visualization...might need to set some goals, make a board or light a candle with intention and then do some visualizing

Affirmation: I appreciate the simplicity of my holidays. Spiritual: Connection Physical: Snow shoveling and snow trudging with the dogs, 9,052 Steps Gratitude: This life!
Cathy, Good luck getting your bank account moved. I think changes like this can make things less complicated.
I have been working on deciding on my goal areas and have it divided into five areas. Some areas are fine while others are need more structure, visualization etc. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. A number of years I simplified all of these holidays into kind of minimalist types of experiences which eliminated the stress, rushing around on and on. So glad I did this.

Affirmation: All that I need is provided by the universe Fitness & Health: I make healthy choices for a healthy life Spiritual: I am in tune with the universe Gratitude: Thankful I am not doing the Thanksgiving feast f or just my husband and I - we will be thankful without the feast
Yesterday there were four of us and it was a good day. Next week we are in Tripoli IF the situation allows. I have a book to finish reading so I can post for a blog tour tomorrow. I also plan to make some quince jam later today.
MICHELLE: I like the idea of simplifying the holidays. We never really celebrate any of them as hubby is not clued into the ones from the USA and doesn't care about the ones for Lebanon. So, without children in the house wanting Christmas presents or Easter baskets one day is much l ike the other. You had snow? I bet that meant more work when walking! Hubby is calling the bank today to see if the cards have arrived and no doubt will ask about transferring to the nearby village as our primary bank instead of the one in Beirut. Good luck with the five goal areas you will be working on!

Affirmation: I am content. Spiritual: Higher planes Physical: 7,872 steps today Gratitude: Completing projects.
The snow is a factor when walking the dogs. DH ran the tractor on our path around the property to clear as much as possible which made it easier walking today so that was pleasant. I had a big project that I finally managed to complete today so I am glad about that. Would quince be something that could be eaten like a banana or orange?

Affirmation: I absorb positive energy and let the negative bounce off Fitness: Hmm...mental fitness is fine...soon will work on the physical...maybe Health: eating wfpb vegan is a challenge I have embraced Spiritual: I will take time to focus on something small to see the greatness within it - no matter how small an item might be it has a story to tell and if I look closely I might see the story and gain insight from it. Gratitude: A mind that still works letting me learn and grow and think and be
AND
FROGS: I can hear them outside the window...they are enjoying the overcast wetter more rainy weather...they are loud enough to drown out the sounds of construction further away...when they talk, anyway.
Yesterday we stayed home. Might go out and about today to buy groceries and produce. I am still doing the vegan thing but there are days I believe it might be easier to branch out again...then really think about that and decide to stick with vegan a bit longer. The countdown is on for my daughter's visit. Hope it will remain as it is so she will come and remain as it is or improve so she can return at the end of her visit.
MICHELLE: Hooray for a tractor to pack down the snow to make walking dogs easier. Do your dogs wear snow boots to protect their paws? Quince is sometimes referred to as pie fruit. It is similar in shape and texture to an apple but has the astringent taste of an unripe persimmon (when unripe). It makes the mouth pucker. I have made jam from unripe persimmons and been unable to eat it while a quince cooked unripe with sugar is tasty and makes delicious jam and candy. Some cook it with meat. I need to see what else can be done with it since we have so MANY trees and bushes. They tend to get wormy so today hubby will help clean them and then will soak with sugar till they make some juice, add some lemon (maybe) and cook and blend then put into jars and do a hot water bath. I figure I can always give the jam away as gifts if we don't eat it all. I remember reading a book by LaVyrle Spencer that mentioned an orchard of quince and I had no idea at the time what they were...she made delicious pie from them. The book was Morning Glory and I still remember the quince and now know what they are though I have not yet made pie from them.

Affirmation: I feel at ease. Spiritual: Harmony Physical: 8,403 steps. More snow shoveling today but it had far less water content so was much easier to shovel--almost as light as a feather. Gratitude: My puppy, Buttercup. She isn't a "cute" type of puppy but is a serious smart one. Cathy, Thanks for sharing that interesting information about quinces. Do you also grow persimmons? I love persimmons and figs--my favorite fruits. On the topic of manifesting sometimes I tell myself "I am not going to listen to you". It sounds strange but it is one way I get past the mental blocks that are standing in the way of me manifesting what I want. Today I managed to get several items done I was procrastinating about and am so glad I did because it helps to bring spiritual clarity.
What do you think about being vegan? I eat three ounces of turkey in the mornings for breakfast and then that is it for the day as far as meat, eggs etc. If I skip eating that type of protein my brain just does not work, to much air (as in airheaded). I know that the vegan experts would disagree but we are all different.

Affirmation: I choose to be positive when political situations are cannot be controlled by me
Fitness: Still in the "thinking about it" stage
Health: wfpb vegan meals yesterday - going grocery shopping today and will restock the kitchen
Spiritual: the cycles of the earth provide for us and as it becomes time for winter sleep and winter crops I think about how marvelous the universe is
Gratitude: Grateful for my patience and tranquility when it is tense around me
Yesterday we spent around 2 hours waiting our turn to get our credit cards. To say that there were nervous nellies in the bank would be understating the situation. Hubby was exhausted so we went home stopping by for manoosh for lunch on our way back from the bank.
MICHELLE: I like that Buttercup is a serious pup. I can just see your three dogs having pow wows to discuss how to take care of you and yours.
We do have fig and persimmon trees. Hubby picked persimmons before ripe and they are on the counter still (like twenty of them) sort of drying out but edible. We made fig jam and I don't know if he made dried figs but think he did and animals came to eat them from the trays. He also made raisins that he has in a huge jar on top of the refrigeration. We have apricot, plum, fig (50 of them), citrus (variety of the, avocado, walnut, almond (maybe), quince, apple, pear, wild plum, hawthorn, jujube, feijoa, guava, pommegranate, persimmon and probably more that I can't remember. We have fruit and nuts year round and hubby gardens so we have produce most of the year, too.
I like the idea of not listening to myself or telling myself I won't listen to negative thoughts when they crop up. I think I need to determine what I would most like to manifest instead of sitting in idle as I have been.
Being vegan was a challenge for me. I have had vegetarian times in my life for periods of time....usually summer camp and school meals that were vegetarian only. I saw the idea of veganuary somewhere and opted to try it. I didn't make it all the way through the month but tried again the next year. I find it difficult here, especially now with even fewer options that are vegan. Right now there is no tofu in the market that I can find, no vital wheat gluten to make seitan (easily), no vegetarian-vegan convenience foods, etc. I can eat beans and grains and plants/nuts but it gets old. As for how I "feel" - I don't think I feel any different though I don't know. My husband says (most of the time) that I am calmer. I wonder if that is just age I do wonder if I get enough protein. I do take a multi-vitamin that is not vegan. I do have dairy products sometimes. When I have thought about having "flesh" I suddenly see the animal's face/eyes and decide I would rather have a vegetarian or vegan option...at least so far. I had three dumplings last Wednesday and they were filled with meat in a yogurt sauce...the dumplings were soggy and not so tasty but I ate them anyway and I had some feta cheese...and some of the 8 egg yolk cake. I am not rigid but moving that direction. For some reason I see myself perhaps eating chicken or beef or something like that during the three week visit my daughter is making in February...we will see. I believe that if I did not feel well I would eat meat...no questions asked. My sister used to be vegetarian for decades and now eats any and every thing put before her. Life is filled with change...this vegan thing could be a phase...time will tell.
Also: As a child and even as a young adult I never thought about where the burger or pepperoni or chicken came from...it was something I ate because it was there and I liked it. Living in Lebanon, having raised chickens and ducks, seeing animals waiting to be slaughtered at the side of the road (sometimes trying to get away or bleating/mooing/whatever) it became "real" and that made it harder to eat animals...we'll see how the future goes.

Affirmation: I am calm, cool and collected. Spiritual: Balance Physical: 9,107 steps Gratitude: My home Cathy, You are very fortunate to have all those wonderful trees! I told my nephew when he was young that his hamburger was a cow. He had no idea and refused to believe me. I thought it was interesting that modern children have no clue about these things. I have been a member of People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals on and off for many years. One of their blurbs was about fish having feelings etc and living in the same place for years. Interesting. Maybe fish could be added to the visuals. Also I just loved the book "Behaving as if the God in all life mattered". I think that it is a life changing book if taken seriously.
Clair got dressed up so cute today. Green harness, matching leash, Santa Claus collar complete with a large bow, Heart sticker earrings and then went with me to town. Among other places we went to the assisted living, Life Care Center. The ladies really got such a kick out of how she looked. We had fun!

This morning I remembered taking classes at nursing school and being told that my patient was not just a disease but so much more. We were told they have mental, emotional, spiritual, family and other needs. I looked up "wholeness" this morning and found four aspects: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual again mentioned on this site: www.balancingmindbodysoul.co.uk/spiritual-development/the-four-aspects-of-self and am now wondering if I should revisit what I write below... the article also asked the reader to think about each of the four areas and assess where they are so...hmm...
Affirmation: I am focused on life and living it to the fullest
Physical: I take care of my physical needs
Mental: I am mentally alert and capable
Emotional: I am on an even keel
Spiritual: I am in tune with the universe
Gratitude: I am grateful it is Sunday and I will speak with family via Skype
Yesterday we went to the bank to pick up our new debit cards then had sandwiches at a shop that will make whatever you want and where I can pick out exactly what I want put on it. I usually get hummus, garlic paste, vegetables and french fries and it was delicious and perfect this time. We went for some groceries and our major expense was...cat food. Funny that. I wonder sometimes if buying meat or chicken or whatever would be cheaper than tinned or dry cat food.
MICHELLE: I wonder if getting dolled up before going out lets Clair know she will be "working"? Does she anticipate and look forward to her outings? Your comment about fish farming was interesting. I remember going to a fish farm with my parents or perhaps as a school outing when we lived (if memory serves) in Seattle. The teaming masses in the cement "pond" were amazing back then but now I realize how confining and dirty it no doubt was for the fish. Even salmon farming in streams and the ocean is evidently not healthy...sad. I looked up "Behaving as if the God in all Life Mattered" and read the reviews on Goodreads. It has a lot of great reviews with a few that rated the book rather low. All seemed to enjoy reading the first part of the book but when it came to manifesting manure, talking to carrot deva, etc the ones that panned the book did so there. I enjoy reading books like this even if I don't go along with everything because they make me think and tend to open my mind to something new. As I read about the book Findhorn was mentioned and it tweaked a memory of something read online or in another book...it also made me think of The Celestine Prophecy and Conversations with God - both read LONG ago...no idea why it made me think of those books, though.
Anyway...off to have a glorious day doing...something or other. Probably will read.

Affirmation: Universe delivers! Spiritual: Unwavering belief Physical: More snow shoveling
Gratitude: Everything.
Cathy, In regard to that wonderful lady who manifested the manure--I have spent time around those type of people. They are on an entirely different plane than the rest of humanity. They see nature spirits on and on. This is only scoffed at by ignorant people. On a completely materialistic level I have been watching some specials being aired about the country singer Dolly Parton who came from incredible poverty to be a mega star in the recording industry and she did this using her God centered spirituality. She is loved by EVERYONE. She raised 14 million dollars for the people in the Smokey Mountains to help them when their homes burned and has an incredible literacy campaign including publishing of books using millions of dollars for small children to honor her father who couldn't read. Now that's the kind of manifesting spirituality the ignorant can understand! Or can they? It seems like even those attempting to stay on the path can't quite figure it out. Maybe it isn't about getting stuff. Materialism has put a whole new spin on spirituality.
Back to the manure which is a spiritual apport. I am not certain if you have ever received one of these. If you recall the song "Scarlet Ribbons" and the appearance of those articles--they were an apport. People receive such items as Christian Saint medals and other items in this fashion. These items just appear. I have received apports. People also receive them as tokens from loved ones who have transitioned to a another plane. Unfortunately the ignorant are afraid of what is unknown to them. The pile of poop was a really big apport. However as far as manifesting goes, this topic is germaine because Universe does deliver.
Clair knows she is going to town to do what she loves most when I dress her and ask her if she is ready to go. She gets excited and heads for the garage door. Her two favorite places to go are the University and the dog food store. She can't wait to get inside that huge library at the school.

Affirmation: I nourish my body, mind and spirit Physical: I am strong Mental: I am focused Emotional: I am happy Spiritual: I am tapped in to the universe Gratitude: I am grateful for the rain that nourishes the earth
We talked to family via Skype last night though the connection was not always great. It is always nice to hear the voices of loved ones. I soaked mixed beans and grains overnight then started cooking them in the morning adding in potatoes, carrots and fried onions - it is called Makhloota and was delicious for lunch yesterday. My next goal is to find something to eat with cooked tomatoes on toast in the morning. I used to eat eggs with the tomatoes but want to find something vegan and so far have not found tofu in the big shops. Might contact one of the smaller shops to see if they have it. The other option is to make a crepe/omelette using bean and grain flour...need to see if there is chickpea or mung bean flour in the markets and give it a try. Think the bean crepe idea is from India and has been adapted for the Western palate
MICHELLE: Interesting about the apport and manifesting. I have been trying to remember if I have ever had something "appear" in the past and it may have happened though at this point I have forgotten it if it has. I have been able to manifest (right term?) parking spaces and won specific items at raffles. I find it interesting to consider the universe, what is in it, how to be in tune with it and knowing that I have always had enough and more than enough don't usually attempt to "get more"...hmm... Dolly Parton is not the only one who gives back...think there is a phrase somewhere that mentions the idea that the more one gives the more one receives - but am not sure that is something a greedy rather than truly giving person can expect... Clair - how fun for her to know she is happy to go out and about all decked out. Does she have sites she does NOT enjoy going?

Affirmation: I create a bubble of ease that surronds me. Spiritual: Lightness Physical: 9,496 Steps Gratitude: A warm storm arrived so it rained on the snow. The snow is now mostly gone and also I saw the sun for about two minutes today before the clouds covered it.
Cathy, I also manifest parking spaces. When I got really good at it I decided that I would manifest if no one else needed the parking space more than me. There is so much more to this "manifesting" than acquiring stuff or parking spaces. It can be used for changes in attitudes, behaviors one wants to acquire on and on. Also I think there are specific types of manifests that we are so used to having that we don't even notice that they are ones. Clair definitely prefers people who are actually interested in interacting with her. For instance the university students come up to her and want to pet her etc so she adores them and their energy. However she does not understand people in wheel chairs etc. I have been working on how to make this fun for her so she enjoyed it this last weekend for the 15 minutes we spent at the assisted living facility. Much goes on in these environments that she is not familiar with so just understanding it is the challenge for her. Also we go to some places that did not work at all for either one of us. These will never be visited again. For instance I just resigned from the Paws4 Love Crisis Response Team. I went to an event in regard to Suicide Survivors Day with Clair that brought up something that happened in my childhood in regard to a suicide which caused me to react indicating that I would not be able to respond to these types of occurrences in the school system which unfortunately happen now with the middle school and high school students. We are sticking with happy events!

Affirmation: I am able to do whatever I truly set my mind to Physical: I am strong Mental: I am focused Emotional: I am happy Spiritual: I am tapped in to the universe Gratitude: I am grateful for the abundant harvest from our garden
Today I hope to get my hair cut, go to the bank to activate my ATM card and pick up a bottle of wine to take to lunch tomorrow. I need to post some reviews and read and also need to begin cleaning in preparation for my daughter's arrival next Monday evening. Hubby wants to "make a schedule of cleaning" and I really don't want to think about it till Thursday or Friday so impasse at breakfast today. Ah well... As for the haircut...just noticed that on my thinning scalp near the hairline on my brow there is a big bite or red dot or something...wonder if I should wait to cut my hair till it is not bright red there? Hmm...
MICHELLE: I understand not wanting to go to sad events with Clair. I am sure there is a need for support dogs in survivor events but if it triggers personal emotions that will trigger Clair to need to nurture you then she will focus on you rather than others. Happy events are...HAPPIER! I have this vision of Clair dancing excitedly as she prepares to go out to work. As for manifesting...perhaps I will think about what I would like to manifest in my personal life...hmm...

Affirmation: I am a radiant being filled with light and love. Spiritual: Peacefulness Physical: 10,049 Steps Gratitude: A somewhat sunny day
I needed to spend the day working on my office admin items. My assistant and I went over a number of ideas to improve our system during the busy time of the year that is coming up again. Also much time was spent on an intricate list for the computer specialist of items that need to be done at the office. Probably next week I will be without my computer for a day or two since it needs items done also. We are networked and I work at home now so life is more complex.
Cathy, I like you "to the point" list today.
