Affirmation: Refocus! Mind: Relaxed Body: Walking ,Yoga, OP Spirit: Filled with light Gratitude: This life.
Errand day for me today. As usual I had a couple of fun experiences talking to people, laughing together. I have sort of a quirky way of looking at things that other people tend to complain about which make people laugh. After so many years of diligently trying to make lemonade out of whatever lemons I run into I can often see the humorous side of things or at least have an unusual perspective. Life is what I make it!
Cathy: I admire your interest in reading. A while ago I decluttered my Kindle and now just have a few books, about the same number I would have checked out of the library in days gone by. I am enjoying the simplicity. Just chatting. Most of my life is complex so it's nice to have this one little area clutter free.

Affirmation: Karma is real
Mind: Sharp
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Bright
Gratitude: Family and friends
Nothing exciting to share...talked to our daughter last night and hope to talk to our son and his family this evening. I will cook and read and review. Might walk outside to see what is in bloom.
MICHELLE: I purged real books in the basement last time my daughter visited but have not cleaned out the Nook. I think you can archive them to clear up what is there to read, though? I have adobe digital reader for the ones I review and need to remove some of those and store them on a disk. I LOVE having the many books to choose from and am not sure why. I figure if I ever end up in the USA I will be able to borrow from a library but that is not an option overseas so want a LOT to choose from? I guess and abundance of books should be my gratitude? Also...with the economy the way it is here...buying books would be WAY TOO EXPENSIVE...even if they were available in the bookstores...if bookstores have not all closed down!

Affirmation: Refocus! Mind: Energetic Body: Walking ,Yoga Spirit: Wandering and wondering Gratitude: Much needed rain!
A river in the sky arrived from Asia causing it to rain nonstop for hours. This drought ridden area can use this rain and it is in fact a miracle!
Cathy: I agree, books are wonderful!

Gratitude: Clothes that fit...or that can be altered to fit...I think?
Hubby brought home produce and dairy so need to put it away. I have leftovers for lunch and good books to read. It is chillier now than it was earlier so may need to put something warmer on.
MICHELLE: Will the storm hurricane bomb river of rain in California impact you where you live?

Affirmation: Refocus! Mind: Engrossed Body: Walking ,Yoga Spirit: Wandering and wondering Gratitude: Bright sun shiny day today
The sun was out and about for a major part of the day which was very pleasant. I worked on th office Paper Tiger and made good progress.
Cathy: Yes, the atmospheric river of rain is all part of it. We got 4.99 inches of rain. Our annual precipitation is seven inches so that was quite a lot for us. Best of all my almost dead (from the drought) native vegetation was brought back from the brink. I love your new avatar, you look so stylish!

Gratitude: Health
Hot water heater plugged and was fixed and hope to shower tonight. Not sure if I can make soup and blend it before the electricity cut or not...grrr...so...keeping this short.
MICHELLE: I hope you don't flood with all that rain. My sister said they have to siphon off the pool or pumps won't work and the run-off area (can't remember what she called it...) was full and filled with trash for the first time since they moved there. Someone they know had nine inches or Rain in Paradise, CA.

Affirmation: I am a possibility thinker. Mind: Content Body: Functional Fitness ,Yoga, OP Spirit: Wandering and wondering Gratitude: Helpful tools Another busy day for me. I had to go to town for an appointment so I decided to do some grocery shopping while I was there. Raked some, well actually quite a bit. There are a lot of leave on the grass etc at the moment. Cathy: It's true the basement is flooding. My husband rigged a pump up to a hose and has figured out a way to get the water into a shop vac and then the pump sucks the water through the hose out into the yard. This is much easier than methods used in by gone episodes. Not too much water is coming which is very helpful. Also the weather is pleasant compared to what we have had when this has occurred in the past. We just don't care, that's how thankful we are for all this water. I saw a map of various areas in Northern California and some received 12 inches of rain. As far as I am concerned it was raining lemonade, not lemons! Onward>>>>
Cathy: I hope your power is not an ongoing problem. It was an incredibly beautiful fall day today. I seem to appreciate these days so much more than I ever have before. It is fun for me to go outside and rake while keeping BC amused throwing her ball. Clair always rides on the quad when Sam and BC go running but today I put her down and let her go 1/2 mile and she loved it. I think it will be all right since her shoulder has not bothered her in over a year. She was just so excited and happy!

Affirmation: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Mind: Determined Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Carefree Gratitude: Willingness
Another day in Paradise. Just life as usual, mostly puttering around the house and yard.
Cathy: Another lovely fall day. It was 22 degrees this morning and foggy so it is winter for about 16 hours and then cool fall weather for the other eight. I did see a beautiful little white butterfly fluttering around which was quite a sight considering that we have had snow several times lately.

Gratitude: Positive Attitude (and some clothes that still fit)
It is cool and overcast with drizzles that may occur. I slept well last night and woke late for me at 9am.
I weighed in lower on the scale (155.2) and thus the affirmation above.
From all-time high weight of 215.2 am now down sixty pounds with 10 to 15 more to lose according to MFP From May 2020 when I started back OP this time, I am down 48.2 pounds according to ITB
MICHELLE: I love it when it is cool and I can sleep under the duvet with the windows open. Last night I enjoyed the night sounds without the fan on and slipped into sleep gradually thinking about how lucky I am to live on this hilltop with so much beauty around. Where you live sounds lovely and I enjoy hearing about it as the seasons change.

Today was yet another gorgeous day so I spent several hours outside working on the leaf removal project and am celebrating my incredible success at this task.
Cathy: Congrats! on your WL. It's wonderful to read about your continued efforts that are paying off. BTW, some of these leaves are so beautiful. It's nice to be able to stop and smell the roses, except they are leaves.

Affirmation: I eat healthy food

Gratitude: Weekend chats with children and granddaughters
Yesterday we worked on taking the outer shells off of the walnuts my husband collected. We have a LOT of nuts for the year and I felt a bit like a squirrel storing them away for the winter. Might take some out of the hard protective shell and put them meat into the freezer to have on hand if I want them quickly in the morning rather than shelling on the spot. The outer shells are put back under the trees or in the compost to degrade and fertilize.
MICHELLE: I hope you don't have allergies...have heard that sometimes fallen leaves get moldy and some have allergies to the mold I wonder how we could play in the piles of raked leaves without problems as children?

Affirmation: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Mind: Confident and Optimistic Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Ethereal Gratitude: Space heaters I spent the day pleasantly puttering. Highlights were getting my daily raking done and also sending out about half of my monthly reminders to clients for items still needed to finish up jobs. Cathy: I like these leaves! They are interesting to look at and different kinds weigh different amounts. Today I made a big pile and then laid down in it. Looked up at the beautiful blue sky, threw them up in the air, covered Sam up. This was such fun!!! My husband even took some pictures of this. It was good to experience playing in them again. Thanks for the reminder--you put me up to this. Thank you! Onward>>>>

Affirmation: Small pleasures bring (big) joy
Mind: Focused
Body: Content
Spirit: Joyful
Gratitude: Chatting with family on the weekend AND that my daughter gifted me a year's worth of I Track Bite PRO so I can track calories and food and play with more options on the app.
Yesterday we ran errands and bought extra grain and beans for the winter...feel a bit like a squirrel storing things (including walnuts) for the winter. Hubby talked me into walking down to see the olives on the olive trees and I borrowed my daughter's knee-high rubber boots to make the walk. It was nice to get out...should do it more often.
My sister has her appointment on Monday and will hear more about the tumor and if they got it all, what it was for sure, and if she will or will not need chemotherapy. I am eager to hear her news and thinking positively no matter what!
MICHELLE: You made me smile and laugh a bit with your comment that I had put you up to lying in and playing with the leaves. How fun it must have been! What did Sam think of being covered in leaves? DO they go into the big pit later?

Affirmation: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Mind: Clear Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Ethereal Gratitude: Winning the ongoing leaf battle
Today I did more leafing. I have had to use the tops of some of my pine needle haystacks to cover the leaves so that they do not blow out of Pine Needle Haven aka "the pit". One area that has been overly productive is Apple Pan Dowdy which is the area that has the apple tree. However it is apparent that I am almost at the end of this gardening round.
Cathy: Are olives edible right off the tree? Also what kind of olives do you have? Sam just likes it when I pay attention to him so being covered in leaves did not phase him.
