Choco's Spinach Pie (Core)
1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1/2 c FF cheddar cheese, shredded
1 c FF cottage cheese
2 garlic cloves
3 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Preheat oven to 350*. Mix all ingredients; pour into a Pam-sprayed pie dish and bake for 45 minutes. Cut into wedges.
Serves 4-5
KIPPY'S MINI QUICHES
Start with: 1 c egg substitute or 4 large eggs (8 pts.) and add-in choices such as:
SPINACH QUICHE: 1 (10 oz) package chopped frozen spinach (squeezed dry); 3/4 c FF or soy cheddar cheese, shredded; 1/4 c diced red/green peppers; 1/4 c onions
QUICHE LORRAINE: 1/2 c Canadian bacon, chopped, cooked until crispy; 1/2 c FF cottage cheese; 1/2 c FF or soy Swiss cheese, shredded; 1/4 c roasted peppers; dash of ground nutmeg
CHEDDAR BROCCOLI: 1/4 c chopped onion; 1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped broccoli (squeezed dry); 1 c FF cottage cheese; 1/2 c FF or soy cheddar flavored cheese, shredded
SOUTHWESTERN: 1 c FF cottage cheese; 1 small can green chiles; 1/2 c black beans or Mexi-corn
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350* F. Line 12 cup muffin pan with foil baking cups; spray the cups with cooking spray. Beat the eggs or egg substitute; fold in the add-ins. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Fill the foil cups with the mixture. Bake at 350* F for 20 minutes, testing so that a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from cups to serve.
Note: these are sugar and sweetener-free, freezable, microwaveable, portable, full of protein (and fiber when veggies are used).

knuckles491, zazzles, borntexan, amyrs, cyndee, susan092907, NatureLover, squid, On the old Core Program I believe there were some items that you were supposed to have every day within set limits. Dairy like FF Milk - 2-8 oz glasses per day (3 for seniors) Healthy oils, like olive oil 2 tsp per day If you went over on those items you did have to count them. Is that correct?

knuckles491, I don't remember that. What you are writing about are what was known as the Good Health Guidelines. I don't think there was a penalty on CORE if you exceeded them.

happytolose, I remember if you went over 2 tsp. of oil per day you had to count it, but not the FF milk.

If you're a FB member there are a few groups over there that do Core and Simply Filling.

Thanks for the memories. Core was my favorite. I still use the GHGs!

I think WW doing away with the GHGs is a fatal flaw. Thinking that members will intuitively know to include them is very naive.

I do the GHGs (except for the multi-vitamin/mineral which I've never taken for any length of time, and since the pandemic, exercise has fallen by the wayside). I started after Core; it was the Momentum program and I did SFT (Simply Filling Technique) which became SF when PointsPlus replaced Momentum. I still do SF, although I use the Purple points for the non-zero things. I've been LT at goal since September or October of 2010 following SF... And I have no problem finding "lite" breads in California and never have... (I'm in San Diego, if that makes any difference.)

Dairy like FF Milk - 2-8 oz glasses per day (3 for seniors) Healthy oils, like olive oil 2 tsp per day If you went over on those items you did have to count them. Is that correct? How I remember it, you definitely did have to count more than 2 tsp healthy oils per day, and "lean meat" had specific %s of fat, for some options. As for dairy, I don't remember any restrictions on fat free, but I believe there was a minimum suggested amount for calcium intake-sake. The whole emphasis was to only eat enough Core list foods to feel just satisfied. They discussed "mindful eating". Of course they did suggest what "normal" portion sizes were and encouraged Core Plan members to eat X number of fruit/veggie servings (fresh or not prepared with extra sugars/fats), drink a certain amount of water (minimum), and take a multi-vitamin. The Core Food List with some of the limitations and notes included, can be found at www.weightwatchers.com/images/1033/dynamic/GCMSImages/US_CoreFoodList.pdf Some of the Core List foods were later removed for the Simply Filling plan (i.e. avocado and water-packed olives). Also, Core never allowed bread unless it was made with all Core ingredients (i.e. a flax meal bread). I remember only counting "non-Core" ingredients when part of otherwise all Core dishes. I'm not sure if that was my own personal method, or not. Otherwise, I think later they wanted a person to count a whole entire composed food as full points, even if it had the smallest little amount non Core. I did quite well on the Core Plan, and of all of the diets I have ever followed, the Core Plan was my husband's favorite. He super enjoyed the new dishes I made containing ingredients we'd never had before (polenta, quinoa, etc.)

I used to follow the Core plan and I now wish I had kept all the information. I've found a copy of the Simply Filling Food List but no trace of the Core plan. Do you have any idea where I can find a copy?
Also I can't remember if we were allowed a daily allowance or just a weekly allowance...... and how many??? I would be really grateful if you could help me out with some details of the plan.
I've tried the more recent plans but I'm not happy with them so I've been calorie counting instead but I'm weary of weighing, measuring literally everything I eat, I would dearly love to get back to my beloved Core plan.
Thank you.

Patricia, as I recall you didn't have daily points, but you got the same number of weekly points as you would following the other plan.

Thank you. I suspected that it was a 'weekly allowance' only, which would make sense.

Hi, I've checked out the link that you've provided for the Core Food List (which was great) and I've noticed that it's for the US (I'm in the UK) and I've can see that there's a quite a few items on the US food list that were never on the UK list (can't understand why they should be different).
I'm wondering that if you've got a slightly different and larger food list, are your weekly points allowance any different. If I decide to go with the US list, how many weekly points were you allowed?
Many thanks.
