My plan for today was vacuuming also but I never did get to that. I did accomplish a lot though.
Ginny, I bet that my pans did leave and go to your dd's garage. Or maybe they're in my garage but I don't think I would have taken them out there.
I've seen Ice yarn mentioned on the crochet groups and I think I looked it up once. I'll have to check again. It seems as though I noticed that it was a great price but shipping was high. There's also another yarn that's been mentioned a lot called Hobbi I think and it might also be from Turkey. I'm not sure. I've never had any of it either but some in the groups say it's really good but takes a long time for it to be delivered.

Ruth, I will check Dd#1’s garage and see if that box of pots might have migrated there. Ha ha ha. WIth her garage, anything is possible. The Loch Ness monster might also be resident in her garage and she does not know it. Vacuuming sounds like a good thing to do, and gives a little bit of activity which can be tough to come by in cooler weather. Just do not aggravate your IC.
Oh, dear! My quilting buddy from church let it slip that she is making a Christmas gift for me!! Anybody got any good ideas of what I can make for her....she is a better quilter than I am....has a bit more time to do so also. I am looking for that pattern I found for circular mug rugs a long time ago, but have not found it yet.
Gotta scoot. BBL Ginny

your dd's garage sounds like mine. My intention was to organize it before the cold weather.Too late now. Have I mentioned lately how much I despise winter. It's 15 degrees here, to get to below zero every night for the next few nights and we have about 5 inches of snow on the ground and it's still snowing. I hope I'm able to get out Tues for my doctor app't. 4 wh drive can do only so much. I'm glad I bought it but hopefully it will start too.Haven't had to try it in cold weather. Tuesday the high will be only 12 while I'm out there freezing my toes off.
As for gift suggestions well I am the worst person to ask. I never have the slightest idea of what to get anyone for a gift. The mug rugs sound like a good idea and you could put them with a really nice cup, some good hot chocolate or tea. Marshmallows if you get hot chocolate If tea maybe a nice jar of honey and a honey server.I do have patterns for mug rugs. I'll look up mine and see what's there. There are also nice patterns for what they're calling farm house hanging towels. You could get some of HL's nice "I Love that Cotton" to make them with and give those with the mug rugs or not if you didn't want to make that many things.

actually I don't know if you're looking for a quilting pattern or crochet pattern There are so many really nice quilted mug rugs but here is a link for a crochet one www.windingroadcrochet.com/mug-rug-free-crochet-pattern-and-printable/ It's easy too and fast Here's one that has a mug rug and cozy. I'd make the rug longer to hold a snack as well as the cup crafts.tutsplus.com/tutorials/make-an-adorable-crochet-mug-hug-and-rug--craft-7145YOu could also make her a soap saver and bath puff and put some really nice soap or body wash, and lotion with it and if she uses makeup you could make some face scrubbies to go with it too. They're really easy..just circles. You could also make bowl cozies. They are put on the bowl before putting it in the microwave so that you end up having a built in potholder and something to hold the bowl without burning your hand while eating soup or whatever. You could then buy a nice soup to go with that. Maybe an assortment of soups, and of course a nice bowl which you might want to buy first to make sure the cozy fits on it.

Gee Ruth you go into winter awfully fast!!! Preheat that car (garage door open, of course) and dress well. I know, 4WD is only good for so much and cannot make up for the bad habits of other drivers, crummy road conditions and poor roads. I will pray that you get out to the doctors appointment, think its a good idea that you get this IC checked out. Are you feeling any better??? So I guarantee that the pots are in DD’s garage.....I will be there tomorrow babysitting and can check. Do you remember what brand they are?? Ha ha ha. Like I said, Nessy (Loch Ness Monster), Jimmy Hoffa’s body and probably even the lost island of Atlantis are in there.
Thanks so much for the ideas on what to make for my friend. I do not want to spend a lot....she does not usually spend much on gifts but makes some lovely items. I think if I did the mug rug, and a box of her favorite tea (which we have a joke about) and a mug, well that might work. I will continue to search.....and also will be going to the LSQ with her this week with my eyes WIDE open, looking for hints.
Time to finish cutting that sashing. Ginny

Well Ginny, that's the problem. In our storehouse of long lost items...some of which you mentioned might be in your dd's garage, after the lawn mowers and the ATV and myriads of other smaller things, there is not room for a car. Dh started to make one half of the garage into a workshop. Didn't get far on that but it takes up the space where a car could go. We were able to put one vehicle into the other side before we got the much needed riding lawn mower and the not so much needed but wanted, ATV. This is what the other building was going to be for but now we won't get that since we're still planning on moving.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - Sorry you have such cold weather already, I bet you will be happy to move to where it doesn't get as cold or at least as cold for that long of a winter. Ginny - The mug rug sounds like a nice idea with the mug and food items added, like Ruth suggested. I also thought about maybe some placemats? Here's a tutorial from Jordan Fabrics (she makes napkins in this tutorial too): www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEaCQ0zLmgwI really want to finish my hand quilting piece from the class last week, but I haven't gotten back to it. I wonder how long I can keep that blue washable marker on the fabric before I have problems. I'll try to get it done soon so I can wash the marker out. I found a nice fabric for backing for the table topper and I cut it and some batting and have it ready to baste. I think I'll just use pins since it's so small. This is the point where I start to get stressed with a project because I know it would be easy to machine quilt this piece, but I just don't feel confident doing it. I know I just need to try and it won't matter since it's just for me. We had crazy weather here today - heavy rain this morning and now bright sunshine this afternoon and temps in the 80s!!!! Take care everyone!

hi girls, Ginny go to msqc and watch the video periwinkle mug rug. a friend from Florida sent me one years ago.it is star star stars shape
when we went to Hamilton about 2 years ago I had Don look at he template.HE
figured the measurement out and came home and cut me some out of particle board.
I copied the pattern and had Don make enough patterns for about 10 people. as as far as far I know one person made the STAR.
she made it for the Parkinson's silent auction every year..
I could sent you the template & copy I have left. what does your fiend like? cardinals, butterflies, doggie, kitties.you could make the star out of something she likes fabric and maybe find a cup or glass to go with it.
send me a message with your information if you think you want it.
read the comments. on person came up with the idea of not having to use all the fusiable web..
I should have waited to sew the squares for the neighbors quilt at the retreat. this has taken an along time.oh well if I get all the tops ready to quilt then it will be worth it I guess.
we been bumin today.so I will go to my playpen for awhile. phyl

There's a little bit of sun, and our high is 20. We had about ten inches of snow.
There is a video on You Tube for folded fabric coasters. Very easy and very cute!

Wow, thanks to each of you for the great ideas!! I am working on one of my own. It will all depend on how wacky my idea turns out to be.....
Sue how is your foot doing?? 10 inches of snow! Yikes. Its not November yet.
Phyl we all need a day of bummin’ from time to time. Hope that your relaxing time today was good. Did you make it into your playpen? Yes I would LOVE the instructions....someone will have to explain to me how to private message someone - I have never done that.
CJ- so glad you found fabric for the backing. Because this is for you- go ahead and give machine quilting a try (Do you have those machingers gloves? They do help). Do some practice on scrap sandwiches.....really its fun. WIth the stripes that make up the topper a nice squiggle (sort of like a figure 8) running through each row would not be too tough and look great.
Ruth, my Dh did the same thing, using half the garage for a car and half for storage and now its just all storage...and impossible to find a thing. Hope you find those pots
FInished cutting the sashing and did a preliminary block layout for the quilt. Nice to move on to the next step. See ya tomorrow when its Monday.

Ginny, to send a private message go to the upper right corner where the reply button is and and click that little icon that looks like a rotary cutter blade then a box that says member will come up. Click that and it says send message.
It's 6 degrees right now and Tuesday doesn't look good at all.
If I remember correctly CJ, I think you already practiced machine quilting right. I know how you feel though because when it's something I'm concerned about how it's going to turn out I tend to put it off or find another way also. That's why I keep putting off embroidering the facial features on my crochet items and putting on the pompoms, etc. I bet you'll do a great job. The figure 8 thing Ginny mentioned sounds good. I always thought that if I made something quilted I'd do that
