We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they've hatched!

So now Dummfy is claiming Obama tapped his phones?
M.O. of a sick person. Make up things so you can play the victim for attention and sympathy. Will only work with some people.
Interesting how Dummfy accuses people of things he and his cronies do. Sooooooooo transparent and pathetic.....Beyond sad for this Republic.

He's becoming more desperate & paranoid. He's always bragging about how he doesn't need to sleep much...HELLO! This is not good for one's mental health never mind the physical health. Downright dangerous!......Our tax dollars spent in Florida , every weekend, for a mentally ill person to roam around all night & tweet false crap! UGH!

Dan Rather shared News And Guts's post. 28 mins · My team and I posted some thoughts on the line of attack President Trump unleashed this morning on former President Obama on our News And Guts page. The seriousness of this cannot be overstated. I will have some more thoughts soon, and as this develops.
News And Guts 3 hrs · There is nothing more dangerous than a cornered and wounded animal.
As the world closes in on President Donald Trump with a Russian investigation that is billowing so much smoke that the likelihood of some sort of fire seems highly likely, an increasingly isolated and temperamentally ill-prepared presidency could descend into a level of paranoia-fueled chaos the likes of which we have never seen as a nation.
This morning, in a series of Tweets, Mr. Trump accused President Obama of McCarthyism and a Nixon/Watergate conspiracy. He called his predecessor a "Bad (or sick) guy!" Let that sink in for a moment. The President of the United States on an early Saturday morning is attacking the previous President of the United States in a level of demeaning condescension that has no parallel in recent American history. And then he tries to link Mr. Obama to two of the lowest points of America's post-World War II history? When it is his administration that is swirling around the storm drain of scandal?
The impetus for these accusations, for which Mr. Trump predictably provided no proof or authentication, was a claim that "Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory." Many sources quoted on this topic in the press say these assertions are unlikely. The source for Mr. Trump may very well have been the alt-right Breitbart site, which had an article making these claims. Or maybe it is a sign that a law-enforcement investigation was at a level higher than we even know.
Whatever the reason, this just proves once again that the only way to settle this is an independent and open special investigation.
We also need a real national discussion about whether this kind of behavior is befitting a President. Are Mr. Trump's Republican allies comfortable with these kinds of accusations against a former President? And where is the proof? What is the truth? We all have a right to know.

Sorry, not around much. We did take a cruise to get away from the midwest cold weather that wasn't. Now I'm catching up on politcalwire.com which is addictive and potentially a bigger time suck than FB. (OTOH you don't have nutcases screaming about Killary.) You get a lot of info even if you aren't a member. DH is, so I could see that DT may caused himself some problems by talking about wiretaps which would have been requested by DOJ/FBI not Obama. Trump confirming this with the tweets may have declassified this information. Game on. (Not that Trumpsters or Trumpettes would believe this.)
Think there were references to 'hoisted by his own petard" or something.

But unfortunately, much of this is distraction from the fact that President Bannon is whispering in his puppet's ear.

Hi Janice! Nice to see you again. I think all these tweets are also a distraction. I also think this guy and his cronies have to be stopped by any means possible.
He might have the title but that's all it is. A title. He's not a president. He's a TV personality and a con man, among other things. This is not normal. He is NOT of a sound mind. We have to find a way to fix this. I'm not sure how to do it, all I know is he has to be stopped before it's too late. Dan Rather is so correct his correct is correct!!
There are too many people not sleeping at night because they're worried what this lunatic is going to do next. They're worried about losing their families, their homes, their jobs, their health, their freedom, their water, fresh air, and forests. That's a long list of worries. How do we go about our daily lives with all the ups and downs we have to deal with, while a maniac hands us another plate full of heavy burdens every single day?
This isn't funny anymore. This is serious. It's not normal. He's not only unqualified he's a danger to all living things. There is a mad man in the WH. He is not a president. I don't know about you but I'd like to find to a way to get rid of him and his band of thugs BEFORE our loved ones come home in body bags.
Maya Angelo said it best, "When somebody shows you who they are believe them." So, now we know. What the hell can we do about it?

Dan Rather 15 mins · It is understandable that Donald Trump's twitter attack on President Obama early this morning would immediately be consumed by the churning political hurricane that is America today. The deepening divisions that are pulling at the fabric of our nation are on raw display. On one side we see understandable outrage, with many questioning the mental fitness of our Commander and Chief. On the other side we see Trump's allies rallying under their shared hatred of our previous President. Perhaps it is my age or experience, but I feel no schadenfreude or eagerness to say, "I told you so." I feel only a deep and abiding sadness. This is my country that I love with all my heart. We are a weakened nation, in our own estimation, and that of the world. If this was happening in some distant land, we would shake our heads and thank our lucky stars that we are Americans. But this nightmare is happening here, and we have no choice but to confront that disorientating truth. My reporter's instincts make me wonder at Trump's actions. It has the feeling of a classic smokescreen. What is he hiding? Is this a kind of trap? Does he have something he is about to drop? Or does he know something else is about to drop on him and his administration, which is facing a withering crescendo of scandal? We must carefully separate what we know to be true, from what we think to be true, from what we do not yet know. And in the early days of a story like this, what we do not know will far outpace the other two. We do know that there were numerous contacts between close aids to Donald Trump and senior Russian officials at a time when all indications point that the Kremlin was actively trying to undermine the integrity of our election. What we don't know is what these discussions were about. We do not know what is in Mr. Trump's tax returns, which he seems so hell bent on hiding. We do now know all the other suggestions of links between Mr. Trump and people close to him and Russia. And then, of course, we do not know what else there is to know. It is long past time that we have a complete and independent bipartisan investigation, especially since the director of the FBI is under such a cloud of political manipulation. Now is the time to breath the cool winds of impartiality and facts. We need statesmen of steady head and temperament, willing to put country ahead of politics. We cannot afford for our democratic institutions to be consumed by a bonfire of lies, innuendos, and conspiracy theories. We can all work ourselves into fervers of indignation. But the only antidote to these deep and understandable anxieties is the truth. We are the people of the United States. Our great nation is in a perilous moment, and the world is watching with great unease. We want the truth. We demand the truth. We can handle the truth.

Maya Angelo said it best, "When somebody shows you who they are believe them." So, now we know. What the hell can we do about it? Tweety keeps showing us over and over and over again that he is not just a bad choice for President but that he truly is mentally ill. It's serious. So when are most Republicans going to face the truth and start looking for an answer to this debacle they have brought down on us? He is so thin skinned, so paranoid that he makes President Nixon look good. The fact that he is trying so hard to detract attention from the smoke of the Russian fire, just shows that there probably is a lot more there than has even begun to be uncovered yet. But eventually it will all come out, no matter how many tweets he sends out into the stratosphere with absolutely not a single shred of documentation to back them up. On a personal note, I came home early from the hospital because I was just exhausted, and nothing other than another x-ray is left to be done today. My dad seems very tired today, but I am sure that having the fluid pulled from his lung yesterday evening would be enough to more than cause that. I left him about to take a nap. My plan was to come home and do that too, but DH says step-son #2 and family are planning to drop by this afternoon, so my nap may not be likely.

Joyce PLEASE designate tomorrow as a day of rest for you. You weren't working this hard when you were working during Tax season.
As for the Orange Toddler in the White House he had better get reined in FAST before he hurts himself and everyone else.

Linda, thank you for posting the wisdom and clarity of Dan Rather. He is the kind of investigative reporter that sincerely seeks the truth and believes the People need to hear it. Warts and all. He's not looking to create a story like so many are doing today. He's simply looking for the truth.
While I think he's the cream of the crop, I have my doubts about American's being able to handle the truth.
Joyce, I agree with Anne. You need a "Joyce First" day and a "Joyce Only" day or two, or three.

Andy Borowitz...... HOW TRUMP GETS HIS NEWS: 1) Trump has paranoid thought 2) Trump shares it with Steve Bannon 3) Bannon shares it with Breitbart 4) Brietbart publishes it 5) Trump reads it in Breitbart and shouts in amazement, "THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT."

Bill Moyers 46 mins · "It means arresting, detaining, and deporting even those undocumented immigrants who are not violent criminals. It means disrupting the lives of millions of people who have lived here peacefully for decades: people who contribute billions to the American economy. (According to the non-partisan Insititute on Taxation and Public Policy, undocumented immigrants pay $11.6 billion in state and local taxes annually, and The New York Times wrote in 2013, 'Nearly all economists, of all political persuasions, agree that immigrants — those here legally or not — benefit the overall economy.')" - Andrew Cohen, Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law..............
So....undocumented immigrants pay way more taxes than our President probably ever has in his entire life...WOW! ...Shame on him! ...for more reasons than one...!!!!!
